Just a quick question: Recently, in my NOTBPW campaign, I aired what was considered a risky angle for the promotion and was duly notified by the program that it had shocked the audience. What was interesting about it was that the two individuals involved in the aforementioned angle received a slightly higher score than they had in previous angles in which they had teamed together (they've never scored higher than a "D" before and, in this instance, they got a "D+"). Their popularity has essentially remained the same throughout the six months that I've been playing the game so the slightly higher score, I can only assume, was related to the the rather risque segment that they were involved in. My question is this: are there any penalties in continuing to push the envelope like that or will I simply achieve better and better scores by trying to shock my rather conservative NOTBPW audience? Thanks in advance for anybody who has any insight into this. Foxcutter.

Dunno about getting ratings(that could've been caused by the stats the angle uses to calculate the rating), but if it's a TV show, then you can eventually get cancelled for being too risque for the network's audience. I think you can also alienate your fans (lose popularity) by using too many segments deemed too risque.

Thanks, Akki, that makes sense. I must admit, after seeing that, I was tempted to go all ECW Revolution for a moment there. Your sage judgment pulled me back from the booking brink (and probably saved Dan Stone from a heart attack, as well). :) Foxcutter.
wait.. NOTBPW is about wrestling. Not angles and shockvalue. And most of the roster aren't over enough to make angles really work anyways. So why?
In your TEW game world, maybe, in mine, there's a whole different ball game going on (apparently, Dan Stone wants to compete with the big boys down south and allowed me to make some 'minor' changes to his promotion). Call me the Vince Russo of the TEW world, I guess. :) Anyhow, without getting into all the specifics of why I chose NOTBPW over any of the other game promotions to 'corrupt', I must be doing something right because, as it stands right now, we're set to buy out CGC, have stomped SWF back into the "cult age", are regularly out-dueling Tommy Cornell's lagging corporation, and my reputation for putting on consistent B or B+ shows every month has my reputation soaring (seriously, take the NOTBPW roster, inject a little entertainment, and you have an unstoppable juggernaut). Anyhow, Michael, to answer your question, in all seriousness, since I decided that I wanted angles in NOTBPW (far too many entertaining people on the roster not to take advantage of it) and made the necessary adjustments to the product, I've been doing some experimenting. What I found curious was that while the angle apparently "shocked" the audience it got higher ratings than it normally would (I think...as mentioned above, it could've been a fluke; at any rate, just a very, very, curious result...kinda like everyone hated it but wanted more).
