bobinc
Previous installment: Click Here OK, for this one I would like to talk about gimmicks. Who uses them who doesn't or does it really matter? I know gimmicks play a role in the more entertainment driven promtions but hardly one at all in others. I guess the question is best put as do you make full use of all the different gimmicks and change them as needed and properly, or do you cast them aside and think of them as an announce that comes up every couple of months or so in game? Also on the same topic how important is it that the gimmicks be pin-point accurate in-terms of a real life database, or will the general range suffice and do they need to be set in the bios even for when you dont hire them? (note that the use of gimmicks may change in TEW08)
bobinc
Again I will start this off with my view. I personally hate using the gimmicks in game. I find them tedious and not worth my time. I prefer using promtions that dont need them or only need them changed every couple of years. As for their accuracy I am ok with the general range although I will agree that there are some gimmicks that don't fall under a general term and need their own. mad5226
Maybe it's because I grew up watching the WWF in the early 2000's but even if I play a promotion where gimmick doesn't matter I still have to give them one to set them apart from everyone else. It's not enough for me to say this guy is a badass, or this guy is whatever. To mean they each have to have their own "character" or I just can't get into it
BurningHamster
I like gimmicks, I don't like how often you have to change them especially for some guys who only really have one good gimmick, then when they need a change it's a choice between some really weird stuff like time-traveler, old skool valet and a couple of other gimmicks that don't fit. I could of course add my own but I am usually into a game before I remember how bad some of the gimmick choices are. Not sure what kind of promotion uses no gimmicks at all. Maybe shoot style promotions would be the only example I can think of, and as someone who isn't really into worked shoots I pretty much have to gimmick my guys up.
