DannyDemon
i remember awhile ago someone sugestting having all the "indie" workers stats hidden in the game, thus the scouting (like in real life would take effect) you would have to pay agent X to scout, say for instence RoF are holding a show so 21CW send a scout to view the suicide agents (2 workers $100 each, $200 in total) the risk is not knowing who is good much like real life. what you guys think? Akki
I think this has been over-discussed. I personally don't agree. It would be going backwards. The availability calendar has been added to get rid of all the needless work. This would just put in more pointless work. What's the point of going to scout someone when you could just watch match tapes? It's pretty much what the game skips. Maybe in other games where scouting is necessary, like let's say a football or soccer game, you might need to have someone to watch the player through the entire game, because the camera in a video won't be focused on them the whole time. On the other hand, in wrestling, it's all about the relatively small amount of workers in a match pretty much the whole time.
DannyDemon
maybe paying for video's of workers then, i'm pretty sure wwe does'nt have every worker everywhere in the world on tape. I'm also pretty sure that the guy(s) who finds out about worker x don't do it for free. Maybe have this as an extra where stats are random & scouting is the only way to see who is worth signing. would make quite a challege & bring a new depth to the game. Akki
I think it would just get old and boring. And it would be very easy to circumvent by looking at the original data. Plus, do a search on Youtube or any other video site on any indy worker you may have heard of. You'll probably find some match or highlight video. Not that hard. And the cost of a video would be pretty much negligible. And how many tiny indy promotions realistically have scouts?
rajde
The other thing to think is have you ever really heard of WWE scouting other companies? I have heard of Jim Ross scouting other promotions but it isn't a big part of the WWE system. Also, the way wrestling industries work is through networking. Now if you think about how developmental talent is signed it is usually through networking between WWE and other promotions. Usually if WWE goes to NYC they will call up NYC company to have some of their workers do dark matches or job at a show so, really scouting isn't really apart of the industry it is more about networking between promotions. djthefunkchris
I'm with Akki, this is a step backwards, but... I see where the real desire is I think. Your looking for a way to have scouts in the game, it seems to me. This is the wrong way to look for it, in my opinion. There are other things, I think you could use a scout for. For example, your not necessarily going to look at the progress of wrestler's, and a scout could come in handy for that. Example: Scout Emails you about Wrestler X and Wrester Z. Says they are improving very fast on the indie circuit, that you might want to look into them for development (or for hire, depending on your size). This would be a direct result (AI wise), of wrestler's who have skills improving quickly. Or you could use them for finding "Specific" types of jobs. "Find me a Cruiserweight with great mic skills!", "We need a couple more Road Agents". I'm just trying to help you fit where a scout could actually benefit the game, without taking out anything people have asked for from before. Michael Wayne
still not even necessary as you can view their stat history in their profile and see their improvement for yourself.
djthefunkchris
still not even necessary as you can view their stat history in their profile and see their improvement for yourself.
My point was that it would be a nice feature, because it would mean you going through 1k pluss people to figure out who has improved, who hasn't, etc. With this feature, you can browse by who has been highlighted by the scouts. rajde
I don't see the point just shorlist the people you are interested in or occasionaly search. There is no need for a useless feature.
cyberkitten01
It's not a bad idea, it would be good to send scouts out not so much to watch particular wrestlers, but as it was suggested "find me some hot new talent in this promotion". But chances are you can do a filtered search for what you want and shortlist them..
PeterHilton
Another feature that would add tedious busy-work.

djthefunkchris
Another feature that would add tedious busy-work.
I think I aggree with you because of this next quote.
Youtube. And it'd kill startup feds. They're the ones whose quarry is unknown and they're the ones who can't afford it.
I'm thinking adding scouts the way I suggested it could possibly do just what I bolded. I've gone after them on purpose before, and bassically killed not just the one I was after, but a few I wasn't even intending on, because they were sharing the same worker's. If you were told of every wrestler destined for greatness by the Scout function, it would make it possible for you to kill promotions without even trying to. Even if you went after one on purpose (like I did), there is a great chance that taking the best worker's can kill several promotions (Depending on the size of the mod).
