Helmets..........

Recommended Posts

With the new screen showing the helmet graphics of each team being blank, would it be possible to get blanks of all colors so that we could begin to create actual helmets for the game--third party? I'm sure you won't include actual helmets in the game and this would get that out of the way so that other third party stuff could be worked on without having to worry about helmets being created. I'd be glad to do this/work with a team on it.
http://www.nationalchamps.net/Helmet_Project/ Here are all the real ones
I know where to find those, but the template used in the game is needed in order to create a helmet pack that will work in the game. Thanks, though.

There are two types of helmets in BBCF. One with a black matte and one with the team color matte. Here's an example of both for Arizona State. Black: http://www.greydogsoftware.com/downloads/asu.gif Team color: http://www.greydogsoftware.com/downloads/asu-t.gif

They are both transparent gifs with the outline around the helmet being different colors. In the black example, the outline around the helmet is black. In the other, the outline is the same as the main team color (often the helmet color). There are some screens where the background the helmet sits on is black (uses black matte one) and others where the helmet sits on a team-colored background.

Here's all the helmets for the final game: http://www.greydogsoftware.com/downloads/team.zip I cannot, however, endorse any violation of NCAA licensing so I had to remove the ASU mockup. But, if you just follow the helmets setup in the zip file and use them as a template, you should be OK.
So, white is transparent? If so, how will white helmets be handled?
Check out the samples posted in the zip file. I think when creating a zip you can assign areas to be "transparent" and the transparent area will often show up as white or another uniform color.

Good stuff. Now that I've got the specs, when I have time I plan on doing a set of logos to replace the helmets. :) They'd look a little something like this: http://img355.imageshack.us/my.php?image=logos2vw.jpg
