Acidburned
Just about to create my own promtion in Europe just wondering what difference it makes having unregulated game areas? Also I would like to have only 3 weight classes and an open weight title but is it possible I mean would some who weighs less than 200 pounds ever agree to fight someone like Bob Sapp? Thanks anyone. Thanks anyone.[/QUOTE] well in real life guys have fought monsters in mma who out weigh little guys by 300 or more pounds, but in the game trying to have 3 weight classes and one openweight title won't work i think it will tell you something around the lines that the guys are in a weight class that is not compatible with the title, but i could be wrong i do know that you can have guys in the game who are very small fight a larger guy but only if it is a openweight match and if they have no other weightclasses in the company... however some guys wont want to fight people who are larger then them to be honest i have never heard of a openweight title in mma (not counting tournaments) except the old superfight title that was first brought into the ufc at ufc 5 and only one guy who was not a heavyweight fought for it and that was gracie... everybody else was a heavyweight who fought for it edit: i just remembered pancrase did or still does have a openweight title... i forgot about that one
DreamGoddessLindsey
This is actually one complaint I have about WMMA, actually. Try as I might, openweight fights seem nearly impossible to put on. Heck, if I have two women, one 130 pounds and the other 140 pounds, they still refuse to fight each other if they are in different weight classes, even if you try to make it openweight! That would be my top suggestion for any future installment of the series I think. I would definitely like to see openweight competition be possible. bundtcake
If you need to solve a problem with fighters ten pounds apart, just change your weight classes to include those two weights. If you're really desperate to put the fight on, make a 130-140lbs weight class and they'll probably fight.
AlexB
Or alternatively edit the weights in game before the fight, then edit them back to the orignals if you want afterwards. Make it like a catchweight rather than openweight. Consider it like Hatton v. Mayweather in boxing - Ricky put on weight just for that fight, but now will be only LWW. David Haye has had one HW fight, followed by 2 CW fights, and now will be exclusively at HW again - the in-game editor can be used to achieve this if you really want to... Derek B
One thing that people could do although it would be a lot of hassle, would be to ditch weight classes entirely. If you have the belts be available only to people of certain weights but not divide up your roster into weight classes then you shouldn't have as many problems with people fighting each other at a few pounds apart cos they'll still be part of the same weight division. I've never tried this myself but I think it should work, although you'll still get regulated regions blocking fights with people who have massive weight differences.... but this might also allow for those freak fights with massive weight differences you sometimes see, as long as you are in an unregulated area. Acidburned
I messed around with the game regions and made London an unregulated place Anderson Silva beat Bob Sapp by TKO, BJ Penn beat Frank Mirby submission, Fedor beat Chuck Liddel on unanimous decision, Matt Hughes beat Arlovski by TKO, Diego Sanchez beat by submission Chieck Kongo. Seems being smaller makes you win easier lol.

hendunesia
What if an org had 1 weight class, with it ranging from 124 -500 lbs. But then the Org had multiple belts with weight ranges (146-155, 156- 170, etc... and also a 124-500 lb belt) Wonder if that would work? But I am sure fighters will refuse fights and what not.... Tag01
Pancrase has an Openweight King of Pancrase. Granted, it hasn't been defended (by Josh Barnett) since the title was won, but it exists. This is something that really needs to be changed, especially for mods that occur in the nineties. More flexibility with openweight fights, a deep function for grand prixs, and the ability for companies to buy each other out and run them as farm promotions are the suggestions I most want to see implemented.
