Effecting worker's morale...

Recommended Posts

Quick question with TEW 2008 coming, did 05 or 07 ever address how if you depush a worker, job them out, or do something counter-productive to their career it'd automatically give them some negative stats, and there was no way to counter this? (not saying it's a bad system, just a little rigid for certain scenarios) For shame I never bought either games prior, but it looks like this year will be the one :)

If you mean "do they lose popularity?" then yes, of course they do. If you mean "do they lose talent?" then no... at least, not as a result of losing matches. Talent will fade with age while injuries will reduce their ability to perform to their full capability... but no-one loses talent from matches.

Sorry for not making myself clear. I was referring to them losing morale, or basically, getting pissy :) (I can't quite remember what it was that dropped exactly, which is why I just used the vague term, negative stats). And whether or not it's a solid 100% definite that can't be avoided.

Yeah, morale exists, and it does drop when you treat a worker badly or unfairly (and it goes down more or less depending on personality, I believe). I really don't see where the issue is. If your boss was treating you like crap, wouldn't you start getting disgruntled?

If you continually make a main eventer lose - then yes - he will get upset about it - he tells you when you talk to him. Just give him a few wins and he will (probably) settle down! Use the auto-push feature every few weeks - and they will soon go lower down the ranks (due to having lost popularity (if the losses were to lower card workers) - and will then not expect as many wins after that)

And, at least in TEW 2004, there's really been no way to get around this (that I could see). Because while in reality, yes you would get disgruntled if things were so cut and dry, but also in reality sometimes you gotta take the hits on the verbal promise that you'll get repaid down the line. I don't think it's neccessarily a hard thing to simulate (code; a different story, most likely), but I can also see that it's not a huge factor of importance. All I'd like to know is if a workaround was ever implemented in 05 or 07. :)

[/QUOTE] One or two storyline losses will not get them unhappy enough to have any problem with re-signing with you - yes they may try and "persuade" you that the match result isn't the right one - but just ignore them. If you do it a LOT of times - then - well what do you expect? :p
