Eisen-verse
I am thinking about starting a new game (really waiting out the release of the new TEW game and backed into a "corner" in my current 2 year plus game) with TCW and wanted to know what others have done with the company once they have taken control. Not that I want to follow in everyone's footsteps but I've realized that I haven't played as TCW since TEW 2006 (or possibly even 2005) and really wanted a short go at it while I wait for the new game. I'm thinking about possibly trying to incorporate DAVE into TCW in some ways & possibly play off of the whole "Nemesis/Cornell" war to push TCW's new persona of being a company with "a massive chip on their shoulder". Start factoring in some DAVE talent & having the war possibly help TCW overtake the SWF. Other than what you do with the company... Do you tend to keep the title on Cornell for the most part? It seems obvious that he is "the man" (to follow in a Ric Flair ideal) and really should be on top of the company in that reason. There is a lot of talent on the roster (the Wrestling Machines and Rick Law being 3 right there) where you could certainly develop some future contenders. All in all. What do you tend to do with TCW? Irish Wolf
First off I try and round out the Tag Team division. Not by building new tag teams but by hiring some established tag teams. The problem you have a lot of high overness heel teams but not to many over face teams. The only team with enough overness available in the US to start is The New Jersey Devils, Tank sucks but I actually got some pretty good (if short) matches out of them versus The Machines. A lot of people like to dismantle the machines and give them singles runs but you just don't have any good enough teams to take over. So I'd wait till you can get a heel team that's good enough to replace them, in my opinion that team is The New Wave and you have to wait till their contract is up. I also brought in Natural Storm and I had them beat on The Nation of Filth for awhile before I finally got rid of Grunt and Stink. I didn't get that far just to October but here are a few other team you might look into. Adrenaline Rush (DaVE) A* Alliance (MAW) The Sting (NYCW) Towers of Power (USPW) The next thing I did was expand the All-Action division. From the start I made MAW and CZCW development territories. MAW to train my technicians and Brawlers and CZCW to train my fliers. I brought in Acid, American Elemental, Insane Machine, Joey Poison and Plague. With the belt on Chance Fortune who jumpped to an Upper midcarder pretty quickly I just changed the belt to a midcard belt and he and Acid who started as an upper midcarder are alrady putting on great matches. To help all the lower level cruisers I had now I reinstated the Cruiser Tag and called it the All-Action tag team belt. The whole point of my TCW game was to make Steve Flash a star. Within 3 Months he was a main eventer and put on his first A match with Troy Tornado in April. By may he put on a string of A matches with Wolf Hawkins with whom he has great chemistry in my game but I can't get him to more than a B+ with Tommy Cornell with no negative or positive chemistry notes. Self
I haven't ever played long games of TCW, not for lack of trying, computer failures keeping wiping my games. Anyway, TCW do tend to have a lot of heels right off the bat. I turned Wolf Hawkins and Rocky Golden to offset this a little, with Wolf turning into a 'Lone Wolf' solitary upper-midcard bad-ass and Rocky joining Jungle Jack to give The Machines someone to fight for a few months until I get the Young Guns popular enough. I've kept the belt on Tommy so far, but I don't like it, because I prefer my champion to not fight too often. Liberty would be taking the belt, but his contract is up, and I don't think I can job him enough to get him cheap enough in time. I already lost BLZ Bubb this way, but he was a heel, and I could afford to lose him. From now on nobody gets a mega-push unless there's a year left on their contract. I didn't bring in too many people. A couple of Cruiserweights, Jungle Jack and some cheap jobbers to fill out the roster (I like things compact) Guide of the New Wave has just had his contract come up, but he's going to have to play face for a while (him and Scout actually do it quite well) at least until some of my Youngsters catch fire. lovestruck420
I think when someone says 06 they mean 05, and when they say 05 they are talking about the original, not available today Total Extreme Warfare in 03 or 04 I can't remember exactly. The few times I have played the default data I almost always do the opposite, in that I use DAVE and incorporate TCW wrestlers into my product.
