Eisen-verse
So, After playing this game for the last year and truly loving it. I've come to an idea of what I would like to see happen in the next game (I'm itching for its release... Especially after reading all the new things that are going to be in this game. wow.) These are all things that I've thought about & in no way believe that it "Should be this way or nothing". Just thought i'd be fun to voice what I'd like to see: 1) TCW Falls to Cult Status My reasoning is this. Tommy Cornell took over HGC to mold the company in his own direction. While we all know that Cornell is quite possibly the most successful superstar in the ring... I don't think he would be all that successful as an owner. He's a wrestler & not a "suit". So, While his company wouldn't fall extremely out of the limelight I see TCW having difficulties financially & prestige wise as Cornell struggles to "Learn on the job" how to maintain and push forward with a National level company. It's not like Cornell took over a regional company and is able to make mistakes. He took over the unquestioned #2 promotion in the US and an "up and comer" on the international scale. So, with his business levels only being at about 65% (At a C) I don't foresee him being able to really develop TCW into a power player right away. I could see him losing superstars like Liberty, BLZ Bubb, Giant Tana, & Troy Tornado easily. Maybe due to lack of understanding on how to move forward with contract negotiations? Maybe he rubs some people the wrong way as their contracts come up or maybe Richard Eisen (or NOTBPW) is able to get into their "ears" before their contracts run up about "why they would want to stay with an un-proven owner when they could jump ship to a legit company?". Popularity would fall, superstars would fall (while also possibly building some some superstars in the process... You can't scrap them totally), and prestige would fall seeing how they are no longer the powerhouse many thought they would be. Don't get me wrong. I love Cornell & I actually really like TCW. I Just don't see them as the realistic powerhouse that everyone expects them to be in the next game with an un-proven owner at the healm. In all honesty, I think someone like Cornell (While a great wrestler & a decent owner) could make many newcomer mistakes and end up hurting TCW in the process. 2) DAVE slips but also gains Everyone's fav. underdog should slip but also gain. Maybe have their popularity fall a little more & have some of their bigger stars decide they are ready to move on to another promotion "seeing the writing on the wall". With that being said though, DAVE could certainly gain by developing some "new blood" that could potentially be strong midcarders or upper midcarders? People who follow DAVE's rebel hardcore attitude & can be the "new breed" of talent within the promotion. Phil Vilbert may be watching his promotion slowly slip out of control but I still believe he is a smart enough business man & smart enough wrestling mind that he would find a way to sustain enough success with new superstars. 3) USPW continues to be the "One Last Run" company I'd love to see USPW continue on with it's "one last run" style of promotion. The place where veterans go to have "one last go at it" and work within a company that fits their style better. Bruce the Giant is still there as well as the Demons & The Warlords. Maybe add in some people like Dread (coming back from Japan due to Strong's convincing), Pistol Pete Hall, and quite possibly even Eric Tyler (Also convinced by Sam Strong). The great shock would be to see someone like Liberty jump ship to the much smaller promotion. Not because he sees room to "build the promotion" as I've always seen him as kind of like and Old school HBK persona... Someone who wants the money & the focus all on him. So, start him off with a huge contract with USPW with all the fixings & also have him start off with a "strong friendship" with Sam Strong. Not that they are really "friends" but it's the way of showing that Liberty is truly getting what he wants... Time, Focus, and Money. He can also wrestle in a company that is less demanding on him & if the USPW does pay off in the end... he is looked at as a "savior" and someone who "put the company on his shoulders". Something I'm sure he wouldn't care about but the recognition would certainly be what he is looking for. Develop some younger talent but not really all that much. I really think USPW should have a few young talented superstars there to round things out and possibly get a "rub" or two.. But the company to focus primarily on the older & more known superstars who everyone "grew up with" and want to see them face off against eachother in the end. Now here are the smaller things I would like to see.... 4. A Modern Company to Take off Could be CZCW but then again they have been around this long and haven't really "broken into the mainstream" so probably not them. Maybe a more mainstream promotion with Modern set at the Key. All in all, To push the idea that if it's a "modern approach to wrestling".. That some sort of Key Modern company would be able to make a splash. nothing Crazy... maybe somewhere at a high regional/low cult level. I know DAVE has a high level of Modern, however, I'm talking about an actual modern based company to take off. Smaller workers, faster action, and something "unique" to the wrestling scene in the US. 5. Sammy Bach moves somewhere better He's never fit in with DAVE really all that much in my eyes. Too much of a "pretty boy". Someone with that "great of looks" and star quality should be in a company like the SWF. He could be the new staple for their "Shooting Star" title. Mr T Jobs To Me
I would like to see TCW in a tight cash situation because J.K. Stallings sued the hell out of them. I want to learn the details of the transaction in the first place because it sounds like old J.K. got fleeced. Tommy must've had BLZ Bubb and Wolf Hawkins hang him off a balcony, Vanilla Ice-style or something. I mean, don't tell me Cornell bought a Nationally reknowned wrestling company, has a wife that probably spends 5 figures a month, and still has that kind of cheddar lying around. He's already the best wrestler in the world, how much more godified could he be?
