theaddicane
When I was bored and watching TEW's loading processes, I once more noticed the "Checking Promotion Aces" stage. I've always wondered about it, and I'm finally asking. So, what are the "promotion aces" mentioned here? Obviously it's something to do with the top performers of a company, but do they have some significance on the roster? Are they the workeres most likely to be plundered from your roster? Any clues/help welcome.
Marcel Fromage
I don't know, but it has always been noticeable to me that some workers get far better ratings than others for no apparent reason. And some workers that were with my promotion since the start of the game seem to pull better ratings than similarly talented wrestlers that joined part-way through. So perhaps the game does have a few members of the roster who are your 'aces' and they are able to score better ratings as a result. It's only guesswork though. I might be way off course. But I can't otherwise see how British Samurai can out-perform Adam Matravers every day of the week!
benjacko
I think it's to do with checking that AI promotions have enough over people on their rosters.
mitsukaikira
I'd be willing to bet it's checking something against the destiny stats. Just a hunch.

Moe Hunter
This was asked a while ago, and Adam answered that it's exactly what it sounds like. It's dealing with the "stars" of each promotion. I believe it also ties in with how sometimes (like with the default SWF roster) you get emails saying you don't have enough star power.

Basically, it's those workers in every company that the company relies on. Notice in the above list, Randy Orton isn't there. That's because he's not an ace. Aces make appearances and are booked whether they hold a title or not. If Orton didn't have the WWE title, would you see him on EVERY SINGLE SHOW? I doubt it (and history bears that out). But, how long has it been since HBK has held a major title? Do you still see him on EVERY SINGLE SHOW? ROF has British Samurai, 5SSW has Sensational Ogiwara, Thunder Hike, and Crusher Ichihara (and DEVIL Karube is turning into an ace as well). SWF has Christian Faith, et al. UCR has its owner, Louis Figo Manico as does TCW. NOTBPW has the Stones (except Victoria and Edd) and Sean McFly (The Natural is a 'next wave' ace). Alicia Strong becomes an ace wherever she signs (she's a ready made ace). Promotion aces are just like aces in blackjack. When you need a "BANG!" moment, who ya gonna call? ;)

Moe Hunter
Possibly no-one. It depends on if there's anyone with star power left.

Sonfaro
and who has ever been able to keep darryl devine in USPW?
You sign a no-compete deal with SWF, and they'll leave him alone. TCW often does the same. - Sonfaro
