thisisgil Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 I've noticed that currently when a match has a long setup time, you effectively "lose" that time. This raises two points: 1 - Should this actually affect a show that gets taped for TV? When you watch a pre-taped show, you don't have a 15 minute pause whilst the ring is set up for the next event! 2 - During live events, you usually have angles / interviews / videos etc whilst the ring is set up. However, in TEW, if you want to run an angle, you can only do in a free block of time, and not whilst the ring is being set up, as this automatically part of the match. Maybe the way around this, is rather than measuring time in terms of segments, to attempt to account for every minute that the event runs for. Every minute can then be assigned either a match, match set up, or angle. Here's a diagram of how that might work: This may even be extended in the future to make things like run-ins an angle - this would mean that you would set up a match, and then during that match, two minutes would be associated with a run-in in the angle column. This could allow a separate rating for the match and the run-in...
crayon Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 I'm not entirely how feasible it would be in a gameplay situation (with booking taking so long as it is already), but your diagram has intrigued me and makes me start thinking if there's another way to convey all the show's booked matches and angles in a more dynamic and comprehensible way. Like how would an actual promotion display all the night's information when putting the segments together? Maybe not as detailed as the above, but most likely more than in a simple list format, like we have. Notes on a corkboard, that can easily be move around, most likely.. and I've just realized I've gone completely off topic
