justtxyank
So it's January 1989 in my DOTT game. Ric Flair is in the middle of his 3rd WWF title reign heading to WM V. Last WM he lost the strap to Randy Savage. So I'm just burnt out on what to write. My 3 main options are 1) Ricky Steamboat wins the rumble and goes to WM where he loses to Flair, Flair turns face postmatch 2) Ricky wins, feuds with Flair and ultimately loses the strap to Million Dollar Man who turns it to Hogan 3) Hogan wins RR, beats Flair at WM V and holds the strap until VI The reason the belt ultimately ends up with Hogan is I plan to do the Warrior/Hogan feud from real life but with Sting in place of Warrior. dvdWarrior
I'd go with that first option myself. Steamboat winning the Rumble would be awesome, and the Flair-Steamboat match at WrestleMania would be something that fans would talk about for years afterward. Flair's turning face afterward would also be a true WrestleMania moment. Flair could then have a fued with The Million Dollar Man after that, which would eventually get the title over to Hogan for the Warrior fued. Option Three also sounds pretty good, and seems more like something the WWF would've actually done, if you're going for realism. The advantages would be a good long reign for Hogan, which would make the Warrior storyline all the more memorable, but you'd lose out on the Flair-Steamboat Mania magic. Pretty good options either way though, could be awesome. :)
justtxyank
Yeah I'm thinking 1. I don't want to job Flair to Hogan. I had him defeat Hogan at WM III, and the idea of a rematch (since I never ran them a proper feud beyond WM) is appealing, but the Steamboat/Flair at WM is too interesting to pass up. The only downside is I already gave them a small program, and even gave Ricky a 1 month title reign.
