mike b Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 i have a major problem everytime i create a new wrestler or a tv network or anything in the game world after saving it it will show but when i start my saved game its not there am i doing som wrong i love this game(tew) but am a total noob (rookie). Also is there a limit to how many wrestlers you can have say like if your promotion was global in size and you have the money should you not be able to have like over 60 wrestlers in your promotion like the wwe had in the 80s or is there a max in this game. Thanks to any one in advance who can help cant figure out why new created wrestlers and networks not loading with my saved game. mike oh yea one last thing any idea when the 08 game is coming out
alden Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 if you are making the new stuff after you have already started the game then it is not going to be in the saved game. If you start a new game it will all be there but not during the saved games
mike b Posted April 10, 2008 Author Posted April 10, 2008
if you are making the new stuff after you have already started the game then it is not going to be in the saved game. DodgyDavid Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 There is no limits to how many wrestlers you can have. Once you have made new stuff you can import it in via the options menu in your saved game. Hope this helps.
mike b Posted April 10, 2008 Author Posted April 10, 2008 still confused ok so how come they not showing up in my saved game so i go to options n then what????
VBigB Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008
ok so how come they not showing up in my saved game so i go to options n then what????
ok you are missing a few concepts that I can't go into until I have more time. Any save game you start is a clone of your current active database. If you make changes to the database after you've already started a game (and saved it), you won't see any of your changes reflected in your current game. In order to see your changes in a current save game, you need to import the changes from another database. Anyway all that may have been clear as mud, but I can't try to step you through the process until late Friday.
DodgyDavid Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 Then I will do my best. Once you are in your save game click on the options tab. Click on the import data button. Select the database in which has the new workers and stuff in it in the dropdown menu at the top of the window. Select the new data and click import. Depending on how much data you are importing it can take a while.
mike b Posted April 10, 2008 Author Posted April 10, 2008 thanks ok i think i understand now will try it out thanks
mike b Posted April 10, 2008 Author Posted April 10, 2008 hmmmmm man im a geek its still not working i must be doing som wrong
eayragt Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008
man im a geek its still not working i must be doing som wrong
When you go to import workers (Options>Import Data>Change drop down menu to workers), if you scroll down the list can you find one of the "new" workers that you've made that's not currently in the game? If you then select that worker and hit import, what message do you get? And then finally, is that worker in the worker pool? They wil be free agents, as any contracts you've put them on in the editor wil not be imported, just the worker.
mike b Posted April 10, 2008 Author Posted April 10, 2008 ok heres the problem when i first got the game i had no problems creating a worker using the editor then adding them to my promotion via contracts now when i creat a worker and add them to my promotion they appear in the main list of workers but not on my list of workers fr promotion and also when i check on the workers bio i find them listed not only fr myself but fr another promotion also.same thing with creating new venues fr shows n tv networks i can creat them using the editor but when i load my saved game they no longer are not in it and before they would be.I wonder if i may have messed up the game some how. What am i doing wrong.
NickC13573 Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 have you IMPORTED them? Every problem you say can be solved via the INGAME editor. just follow the instructions above to get to the ingame editor. and I would work on spacing what you say out, i do not know if you are english, or welsh or whatever, it is just hard to read. I do not mean to look like an evil person.
eayragt Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 Your save game is not affected by anything you do in the main editor, it'll only affect any further game that you start. You can import some changes into thae game - workers, promotions, angles are three I can remember off hand - there are others. However, you cannot import contracts. Therefore if you import a new promotion and new workers who are contracted to that promotion in the editor, the workers will be free agents and the promotion will have no workers on contract. You cannot import venues. If you want new workers working for certain promotions, or promotions having certain TV / PPV deals, you cannot achieve this without starting a new game. Just because they are set up in the editor, this will not affect your save game. Any new game that you start will have all your changes in.
Self Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 Not 100% what you're asking for, but I'll try to explain something that may not be clear to you. Basically, there are two Editors in the game. One in on the Main Menu, when you first start TEW up. From there you can change huge amounts of data about the game, such as workers, promotions, tv deal etc. When you change data here it changes all New Games you start. It does not change any games you already have in progress. The second Editor is found after you load up your game. You'll find it in the Options Panel (next to Game World) I think. It's much more basic than the first editor, but it's the only way to add/change data in games already in progress. For example, if I was 3 months into a WWE game, and suddenly this 'Kofi Kingston' bloke shows up on ECW. For some reason I don't have him in my data, so I decide to create him. It's this second editor that I'll have to use to do that. That is the only place I can change data for my game already in progress. There is an Importing thing, but I've never used it, and it's already been explained.
mike b Posted April 10, 2008 Author Posted April 10, 2008 thanks Thanks to all those who have tried to help me.Will try what all of you have said thanks very much and also if any one else has any other advise please feel free to add it.Thanks once again mike final note i will get the hang of this by the next decade i hope
