I am thinking of buying a wrestling game

I am thinking of buying No Mercy because when it came out I wasn't into wrestling and I didn't get an n64 until years after its release. Now I can't find it for sale were I live but I did find No mecy for sale online on a site that I trust that accepts paypal with wrestlemania 2000 and wcw/nwo revenge coming with it for 9.99 plus shipping which is like 13 bucks I also found it for under a dollar(be itself) with 9 dollars for shipping so I am wondering which would be a better deal because I have heard that wrestlemania 2000 is a good game too.

Dude, you could have just started this in your other thread... Anyways, it's a great game, but don't spend too much. Most No mercy game packs are buggy and erase your data at random times. If it was legal, I'd say get a ROM and an emulator and plug in a wired Xbox 360 controller to your computer and you'd be set...

Yeah. I think if the copy you get has blood in it, there's a danger of it resetting the data every so often. Fine for pick up and play, but annoying when you were trying to run Season Mode (or whatever it was in No Mercy) Personally, I think if I played No Mercy now I'd find it underwhelming. I'm all for gameplay over graphics, but I'm not sure how it'll shape in the modern world. Options, features... It would probably underwhelm me, but if you can pick it up cheap and want to see what the fuss is about, I'd say give it a shot.

Survival Mode, a Story Mode for each belt (with long, branching possibilities), can fight for belts in exhibition in any match type (that fits the title(s)), Cage/Ladder/First Blood/"Custom" Matches (can set any combination of rules... Falls-count-anywhere with DQ ON? Hardcore TKO matches?), Battle Royals that can be set for teams/participants of almost any #, a PPV mode, the best CAW I've ever played (maybe tied with HCTP), editable superstars (to almost any degree), and much more. I play the game to this day almost weekly, and I think the "fun curve" of WWF/E games is going the wrong way...

I'm pretty sure it has blood too, but it's been a while. It definitely has the blood mechanic, just can't remember about the graphical side of it.

Not very important or extravagant...

Hmm. I seem to remember getting it on release, having the bug, then getting it exchanged a few weeks later. The new one had no visible blood (although the characters would react to it... I think) I'm in the PAL zone too. Maybe my memory is a little fuzzy. I was a huge No Mercy mark back in the day, but I tend to find nostalgia screws me over and destroys my fond memories. I have 2 old N64's in storage, so I might pull one out and give it a go. I think I'll miss some of the things Smackdown gave to us though, like refining the ladder match.

The ladder match was better in No Mercy. That thing had weight to it, and a lot better mechanics for climbing, etc. SD now suffers from "if anyone moves, all ladders in the world slam to the ground" syndrome. Makes MitB the world's worst match. It's the opposite of HiaC, where matches played in game are far better than any real HIAC.
