Dischord
I was just wondering what wrestlers other people have had get really over without you even trying to push them? For me it would be Matt Hardy. I didn't even realize it but he had won a lot of matches and the next thing I know the dude is massively over and warranting a Main Event spot. Paul London was the same way but I have yet to give him the final push to Main Event status as it's currently kind of crowded.
Remianen
Lisa Marie. (Lisa Marie Varon, aka Victoria) Signed her to AJW when WWE let her contract come due and she started as a lower midcarder. Had her lose several matches (to shake off the WWE stink) and she jumped from lower mid to upper midcarder and the highest card level she lost to.....was midcarder. Phantom Stranger
British Samurai. Yeah, he starts as a main eventer, but no matter how I depush him he ends up back in the main event, his work's just too good. A lot of other folks have ended up higher than I expected them to be five years on, simply by suddenly displaying talent.
MrOnu
Freaking Dog Fyte ! Playing CZCW in the great 98 Mod, I'm 2 years and half in and that damn Dog Fyte is a main eventer even though I absolutly hate him. He jobbed countless times to greater talents, got a couple of easy wins against my openers to keep his momentum good so he can really push his opponent whe he jobs. Still, he managed to improved his skills and popularity enough to piss me off every week about his push if he's not a main eventer. He's probably getting canned at the end of current contract though, his backstage attitude is simply horrible. I'll hire him back when I hit Cult to job again. :D
RKO_HBK
MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE FUTURE OF MY DYNASTY (highlight to read) Boogeyman became very over, but I fired him when he had a fight and complained about getting fined lol. My two biggest stars at the moment are Bryan Danielson and Val Venis. Venis was a project from the start, but Danielson began as just winning a few matches, and I've built it into a streak (not tapped out or been pinned for 10 months).
Guest Bolton
Squeeky McClean. In one of my SWF games, I just gave him victory over victory over the midcarders, and before long he was over enough for a world title push.
foolinc
I just started a new TCW game, but I can clearly see that it's going to be Chance Fortune. Him and Wolf Hawkins just pulled off two straight B+ matches and they don't have good enough chemistry to recieve a RA note.
Phantom Stranger
Hey, does it count if I'm deliberately using the 'don't push him but he'll get over' strategy? I hired Human Arsenal when I saw TCW make the mistake of letting him go. Being a UK based company, I had to deal with his horrendously low popularity, and I've simply had him lose his way from Opener to midcard by ensuring he produces good matches. I plan to have him main eventing within the next ten months, by which time contract renegotiations will, admittedly, hurt. He's starting to get the occasional win now, but it's coming slowly. TrekkieMonsta
Mark Jindrak in The Fall. I signed to the NWA, and despite losing his first three matches, to Mike Awesome, DDP and Raven, he shot up from C to B+ popularity in the USA, which I just cannot understand. takertitan
in my USPW game i basically had a bunch of young bucks lose to the higher ups, but the young guys would always dominate then get a cheap loss. I ended up building stars out of almost my whole roster. My average popularity at National is like B or so, with a larger than average roster aswell. No one who has worked for me has less overness then when they started. Even people like Warlord Agony(who is bridging people up the roster) who has not won a match in 8 months is still a C+ overness. Comradebot
Well, good for your Warlord Agony... mine retired halfway through year one. Otherwise, most of my USPW folks have gone up as well. Even Giant Redwood and Captain USA (Captain USSR in my game) have seen huge boosts. I'm fighting my way to National, as many of my stars are getting too over for a Cult sized fed. Though the real success stories have been Nevada Nuclear and JD Morgan. Nevada Nuclear had already seen some build thanks to his highly awesome tag team with The Idaho Punisher, and JD Morgan was just an Upper Midcard bridge type, and one day I decided to go ahead and give JD Morgan a win and Nevada Nuclear was the man who got the (un?)lucky draw. And then this happened: Which ended up being this: Needless to say, both guys are set to be huge stars once I finally hit National (which will hopefully be done before the end of the second year). Guess my other big "success" story is T-Rex, who yes, is a Main Eventer, but managed to hold the USPW World title for 11 months straight and even ended up number 14 on the Top 100, a place far higher than he skill should ever carry him.
