How can I increase my match ratings?!?!

Recommended Posts

I am playing a game as Big Japan Pro-Wrestling (using the T-Zone mod) and my match ratings are REALLY bad. This is all the data I have taken down so far: BJW Product- Match Ratio- 80% Intensity- 70% Danger- 65% Key Features- Hardcore Heavy- Daredevil Medium- Realism, Modern Low- Comedy, Cult Very Low- Traditional Popularity: D+ across most regions in Japan I have noticed that most of my main guys don't have a hardcore/brawler/psychopath style. A lot of them are Cruiser/Puroresu/Regular (especially my main eventers, who are the ones competing in death matches). Will that affect match ratings if I put them in Hardcore-based matches? What is I change my product setting to have realism as the Key Feature? Most of them have good Rumble stats (most average to around a B when I set it to Weighted average) so I don't know what the problem is. Any help is appreciated.

I've noticed that if you take people with like skills and match them in the ring together you tend to get better match ratings.. then again I also noticed that when I booked Raven defending the World title against Ric Flair that I had the highest rating match I've ever had.. so maybe it has something to do with a bit of luck as well? So I think that if you build up the matches and it's a strong heel vs a strong face, they tend to have better matches.
I get an average of a D about, with a two C-'s in 4 shows.
Considering your popularity that's not bad. Next question would be what is the overness of your wrestlers, as that also affects the match ratings. Since your company popularity is D+ you should be able to get C matches fairly regularly with well matched wrestlers, and a perfectly booked match could get a B-. Don't expect A matches unless you bring in a pair of new wrestlers with A overness and high skills, and even then they might only pull down a B rating because you just don't have the audience yet.
What kind of ratings are you getting? At D+ overness, you're not likely to be putting on A & B matches.
Not really true. You're not dealing with an SE style product. It's possible to put on B to A rated matches with F- promotion popularity, if your product and worker skill sets match up well. dean, add Modern as a key feature and see how that works out. From what you describe, many of your workers are aerially oriented. Take advantage of that. Modern & Daredevil interact very well to give you an insane, spot filled, "OH MY GAWD!" match style that may play to your workers' strengths. I'd drop hardcore to medium though. I don't like how that shifts ratings, personally.
Also, what road agent notes are you giving out? If you use the all out and open match road-agent notes it should give your ratings a boost.
Again, not universally true. If you have two workers in the ring who have great aerial skill but D Psychology, having them go all out is more likely to produce a train wreck than a MOTY candidate. Would you tell Boogeyman and Khali to go all out in a match? Also, if the workers have good skill, having them call it in the ring as well as go all out can produce good to great results. A good example of that would be Mankind vs Taker in Hell in a Cell. That bump off the cage wasn't a part of the pre-match script, it was improv'd because the workers involved were skilled enough to pull it off. But first things first, set your product to take advantage of your workers' strengths. After that, everything else is just minor tweaking and fine tuning.
