Dischord
I just can't stick with anyone. I've created so many and just left after one show or not booking one. My question is, if you create your promotion, how do you do it? The editor? In game? What do you do to make sure you're going to stick with it? I always feel like it's not good enough. juggaloninjalee
I am the opposite. When I make my own promotion I abandon it. The thing that helps me to stick with a game is to get wrapped in the storylines and who I want to push and depush and then push back up again. I tend to play as TCW and enjoy pushing the talent up the card but then having some hoss's come in and work their way up only to push some of the talented guys back down and into my tag title scene. Its a rollercoaster but thats what makes it fun I think. If you must create your own I say create your own in the editor and start as the owner. Make sure you assign a couple guys you feel strongly about. Not the best guys in the game but the guys you can grow an attachment too. Think 90's ECW. They built up their own stars like Sabu, Tommy Dreamer, Sandman, and RVD. They had some rejects from the bigger feds but all in all they built their stars. Try doing the same thing. Dischord
I always feel overwhelmed and just turn to a promotion already in the game. But with TEW 08 coming, I want to do something different. I had a promotion started with a great character and story behind it but once the first show came up, I closed the game and never went back. As for how I stick to it. For me the joy is seeing a promotion grow from nothing into a major player in the game world. So I tend to actually be more willing to stick with a promotion I put together myself than with one of the more established promotions I did not build from the ground up. It can be frustrating though, because that "tiny" promotion really struggles to bring in the fans for the first few months.
Shmoe
I normally sim through a few years until a few people have been released, then create one in game at a regional or cult level. You have access to a hell of a lot more talent thanks to the new workers that have debuted and the fact that a few promotions (SWF) will fall in size. Dischord
So I'm finally sticking with one. AWA: Slaughterhouse It started out as a modern/hardcore promotion but after only two shows I got rid of the hardcore and turned it into a modern/pure promotion. I've made money every month so far, I'm about 4 months in and I have a solid roster. That has motivated me to play it for more than a month. I don't sign anyone with below a D athleticism. I also decided to have a Women's Division for the first time since I started playing Adam's games. It's a huge change since I'm used to playing Sports Entertainment feds but I'm having fun. So far, so good.
