I've searched the forums to see if any concrete answer has appeared about a pre-release editor for TEW08 without any luck. The only official mention of it is this scary part of the Q & A:
Will an editor be released so that people can start working on writing real-world databases before the game comes out? I am pleased to be able to announce that TEW08 comes complete with an in-built TEW07->TEW08 database converter. Therefore, when the game is released, you can literally plug your favourite TEW07 database in, have it converted in a matter of seconds, and go straight into a new game with it. Obviously some editing will need to be done on the database to achieve optimal results (i.e. to take advantage of new additions), but you will instantly get a playable database out of it. Therefore, there will be no waiting after the release of the game until the first real world database is available.
Does that mean a pre-release editor will not be provided? Because I have a fair amount to update in my real-world data, like Australian overness, assigning Black to all the Black wrestlers (likewise with Samoans), editing people who should start with touring contracts and a few other things that escape me at the moment. So if I could get an official statement on whether or not a pre-release editor is going to be out, it would be nice. Thanks.
there's no need for it. And since the data is easily converted, and since you get to play the "demo" it stands to reason that, that's the closest you're going to get to a "pre-release editor".
The need is for the new feature's of which there are plenty of. I don't even think your right, he released one last time, he released one for WMMA. Last time there was a converter in the game as well. Why would he purposely NOT do something that seems to be a standard thing he does now?

Indeed, as they've just said, there is a need for one. Not only all the stuff I said in my post also their is the fact that I want to add at least two Australian promotions to my database and would rather put the workers in complete with overness rather than put them in TEW07 and then go back into each one and do their overness when 08 is released (which would still be the quicker root if a pre-released editor wasn't ... released.)

In fairness, if I was going to mod for TEW08, I'd rather start from scratch with a TEW08 Data Editor, then have to transfer any data from TEW07 and update/Modify it all again. Transfer and updating can lead to some very lazy and inaccurate mods (out of date profiles, lesser workers being ignored and looked over due to boredom of modding, etc). Hope there is a TEW08 Editor released soon, especially since there's so many new features to take into consideration.

And 2ndly, there's a difference between 05 and 07. Data wasn't exactly compatible. Moreso even when we went from 04 to 05. But now, it's not as if the new features make the database unplayable if it were imported and untouched. 3) WMMA also (from posts) had a massive shortage of workers. It was also a new game. TEW is an established series. Don't even try to compare the two. That's ridiculous. And the only changes that happen to the C-Verse are ones Adam feels inclined to make. WMMA (much like the fighters) were created from scratch. And if it's so standard, why are we even having this discussion? Why do we continue to have these discussions? Why hasn't Adam addressed this issue. Stop assuming.
