Brak
Here's a few stupid questions, that I'm sure have been asked in the past, for people that play Real World mods. I've been playing an ROH game and noticed a few things that kinda bug me. First, everyone's gimmick is rated very, VERY low. Is this just because ROH isn't mainstream and is supposed to be realistic? Second, I'm having trouble getting anyone's momentum high. I think the highest I managed to make someone's was B- and that was after Bryan Danielson came back from a tour of Japan (turned him face, had him go on a 5 month winning streak, then win the ROH title). Am I not able to get anyone's momentum higher than the C range because I'm a smaller promotion? Also, this really has nothing to do with ROH, but I'm 3 years into my game and WWE's only called up 1 person from developmental since the start of the game. Does WWE ever actually USE their developmental territories? Also, do other promotions ever set up developmental territories? I started in March 08, I'm now in July 2011 and TNA and CMLL both managed to get up to Global, but neither have developmental territories.
Derek B
1. Gimmick ratings are tough things but there is a general guideline that I use for them. If your mainstream/comedy is set to be pretty high then easy/unsubtle gimmicks will get good ratings. If your cult setting is high then you will need more subtle gimmicks to get good ratings. And if you use none of these then you probably don't need gimmicks at all. 2. Momentum will naturally go towards the average ratings of matches/segments that a worker is involved in. You can increase it through good use of road agent notes in matches though. Using any of dominate, protect and keep strong on a worker should ensure that they gain more momentum from a win or lose less from a loss... but will generally also lower the quality of the match a couple of grades. 3. People rarely get called up, sadly. AI promotions also never do anything with promotion pacts or initiate talent trades. Which is a shame, cos that would be kinda cool. Irish Wolf
Let me translate from his New Yorkese #3) No. Promotions will only start the game with set relationships too you, they will not come to you during the game to start new relationships.
Brak
hahaha, i actually understood what he meant I'm not sure that's totally true though. Back when I played the trial with T-Zone data, I was playing as WWE and a small fed opened up named USA Pro Wrestling (or something along those lines) and the next day Ted Turner took over the company and declared War on WWE (I guess because he had a hatred relationship with McMahon). That was actually the reason I bought the game, because I thought cool stuff like that would happen regularly. The only time I've got someone to declare war on me since buying the game is when I ended a Working Agreement. It would be awesome for TEW 08 if I could randomly get emails from other feds wanting to set up working agreements or maybe have larger feds try to buy you out (and leave it up to the AI owner to either decline or screw everyone over and put them out of work).
