I know you have been taking some time off and working on other projects, but I have the opportunity of a lifetime for you. As you know, my brother and I did a storyline where we competed for future control of the company. What you may not know is that the storyline played out for real behind the scenes and Eric is the appointed successor to my dad. That's the way it worked out and I'm not bitter. In fact I have decided to branch out and try to make it on my own. My new company will be called [B]X-Wrestling America[/B] or [B]XWA[/B]. This is where you come in Phil. I want you to run my company, booking, hiring, etc. I know you've wanted this opportunity ever since DAVE closed down what do you think? [B]Phil:[/B] Well, this certainly is a great opportunity, but I have to ask, do you really want me in charge or do you want me as a figurehead. If I'm coming back to wrestling I want it to be for more than just causing some internet buzz. [B]Jerry:[/B] Phil, you will have as close to total control as a boss can give to you. Certainly, there are things that I will want you to consider and people I will want you to look at, but ultimately you will be in charge of who we bring in and what happens creatively. Do we have a deal. [B]Phil:[/B] Its an honor to come work for you sir. [B]Jerry:[/B] Great! Now, there's a few business matters we must talk about. The first is our relationship with SWF. Dad is supporting my venture and has agreed to let two workers out of their contracts if I can get them to agree to it. I want you to look at the roster and give me some ideas on who we should go after, but this is the one time I will have to handle the negotiations. As part of this deal we have also agreed to a Non-aggression pact so you can't go after any of dad's workers. Because of this we also need to get some developmental territories so we can build our own talent. I'll contact Rip Chord and you see what you can come up with. Let's meet back here in a couple days. [I]I thought I should write a little bit about how I do dynasty's. A lot of people like to do long backstories about how they came into power and most are done really well. I prefer to do short episodes, revealing the backstory as it unfolds, much like a wrestling story. For example, just how friendly is the relationship between Jerry and his dad, and will he keep his promise to not raid talent, what happens if Eric takes over, etc. I prefer not to make myself a star, but instead focus on the wrestlers, which is why there is no character based on me, at least not at this time. The first part of the diary will show how the company came together, I will then move to the shows which will focus on the storylines, not how my company is doing, Unless of course its part of the story.
