So, what's going on in your game?

Like we had in the 2007 thread, I thought we might as well have a similar thread for TEW2008 now that it is officially out. Just for fun and laughs off course. Report any way you want, monthly, yearly, one time or anything. I will go first and tell a bit about my recently started NYCW game. Now I've just started and not even past one show yet but already stuff is already going to hell. At least for CZCW. On there first show of 2008 James Prudence, their champion off course, received an injury that sat him on the shel for a year. A YEAR! How unlucky is that? Also Black Eagle got injured. Bad start of the new year. So what is going on in your game?

Christ everyone is just getting crazy in this game. Only a week into the game there has been like four people being injured, three people going into retirement and Koshiro Ino getting into trouble with the law. Things are really spicing up in this game. :p Also I do think it's sucks a fair bit for CZCW since he was till their reigning champion at the time and now the title is vacant. I doubt that SWF are going to hire him now when he is out injured for a year.

One of the side-effects of the AI booking being treated just like yours is that injuries seem to have gone up considerably. I think it's great, as it's hard for me to remember a time in wrestling when at least a couple members of a roster weren't out injured. Hopefully this means no more NOTBW running 3 2 hour shows a week.

I'm honestly struggling with CZCW here.. Damn. It's so hard to put a show which increases popularity.. I just love it! I have never felt this good at failing in a game :D I loaned Acid from WLW (he cost me just 480 dollars per use :O), just to realize he is way too over so that he doesn't want to lose to anyone (gotta love the creative control clause in the loan contracts!).. I just hired Fumihiro Ota and Kazuma Narato to raise up the main event popularity levels. I also found out that now you really can't book the same matches over and over.. I had one card bomb just because I had the same Main event and the match was worser than the previous matches.. I just love this game. Just love it.

You're forgetting, that guys will often benefit (sometimes even moreso from losing to a more over guy) from working with someone far more over than themselves rather than the other guy "jobbing". As long as they can put on great matches, they'll benefit more with Acid winning.
I decided to play AAA with Kate Avatar at the helm. Had 3 shows and loving it so far :) I'm going to enjoy the Regional battles
haha.. The only other girl in the C-verse who gives Alicia a run for her money in the skill department.

I'm the UEW, it is April 08. We are slowly but steadily building. Unfortunately we are losing money, and will probably have to start running only one show a month. One of my guys just got busted for steroids and we took a prestige hit.

Playing as MAW, now in March 2008, I am finding it easier to make a profit this time round. I have a massive storyline going, which kicked off with the Rip Chord Invitational, which saw Mainstream Hernandez return in a losing effort to Erick Strong, and Citizen X win the Tournament. Citizen X then called Mainstream a sellout for leaving MAW. Citizen X is going to lose to Strong in a title match, and then lost to Mainstream in a challengers match. Strong will defeat Mainstream, and after the match Mainstream will turn heel by attacking Strong and admitting that he sold out, which will lead to a mega alliance between Citizen X, Mainstream Hernandez and the Canadian Blondes.

Per Remianen's suggestion, I activated CWWF before starting my game, and gave them a roster of some of the best women in the game (sans Alicia, of course). They held their first show (Fall of the King, one of my suggestions got chosen, which is cool. For a fed like CWWF it's a bit inappropriate, but never mind) and the results from before a sell-out crowd of 300 were as follows: Nadia Snow def. Sara Marie York (D-) Wanda Fish & Agent 69 def. Kristabel Plum and Michell Brendon for the International tag titles (D+) Steph Blake def. Tracy Brendon (E+) Suzanne Brazzle went to a no-contest with Stephanie Wade (D+) Emma Bitch def. J-Ro for the Top Contender title (D+) Tamara McFly def. Cherry Bomb (C-) Melody Cuthill def. Grace Harper for the World title (B-) Show overall: C Not a bad first effort at all...

Decided to convert DOTT, and simulate up 'till 90 or so and then see where things are ... So far, a month in, ... Hogan and Ventura left the AWA in the dust for the WWF as expected. Gene Okerlund fared worse, heading to ASW for whatever reason. Harley Race managed to win the All Asia Tag Titles with Tenryu. Edit: Now in October (6 months in), S.D Jones won the Intercontinental title from Don Muraco and was then beaten immediately by Michael Hayes. Muraco went on to win the World title from Backlund a couple weeks later. Meanwhile, Harley Race, having decided to wrestle 72 matches in three different promotions, is working through chronic shoulder pain ... possibly due to wrestling Brody and Hansen for three weeks straight. ... And now, in November 1983, Ted the Wrestling Bear has announced it's return to the ring.

Well, running a custom scenario I got the idea for while testing National Battles, I'm running Queens of American Wrestling. We're currently at National and finally starting to gain popularity. Our developmental territories are WINNOW (with Namiyo Muro as owner and Lioness Mushashibo as booker), 5SSW, BSC, and CWWF (Heidi Brooks as owner, Sara Marie York as booker). I made several of my favorite new workers active (Christy Higgins, Fuyuko Higa, Yu Hashimoto, Eri Sato, Lauren Easter, etc) so my roster is jam-packed with young talent and older veterans (Sensational Ogiwara, Thunder Hike, Tamara McFly, Wanda Fish, etc). The great thing about all this is watching how the various feds adjust to things. For example, when I took Ogiwara & Hike (I set them to dev contracts), 5SSW accelerated the pushes of folks like Megumi Nakajima, J.Ro, and Kiko. When I took Otsune Tsumura, they pushed Chitose Ariwara. They're actually doing what they're supposed to be doing: developing talent. Crusher Ichihara is one of my road agents and is being prepared to start up a heel stable, once I get some more heels developed. With her as a Ric Flair type and Wanda as a Triple H, I'm going to make an Evolution. :) Just need Crusher to learn English. Anyway, we're the #2 promotion in the battle, after being knocked down to Cult once (due to losing a couple battles AND not having enough big names). Wanda is a 3-time world champion (currently holding the strap), having lost the belt previously to Tamara McFly and Suzanne Brazzle. Once I can get a few more goth types onboard and/or developed, I'm going to have Raven Nightfall start up a Prophecy-esque stable. Tag champs are the Crush Gals (Ogiwara & Christy Higgins), X-Division champ is Kit Hatoyama, and the Velocity (i.e. low level) champ is Fuyuko Higa. I've got a 3-way tag title storyline going (Crush Gals, Fire Pro Girls (Kuniko Matsura & Otsune Tsumura), and Amber (Allen) & Ash (Grover)), Etsuko Arihyoshi is feuding with Fuyuko Higa over the Velocity title (with more people to be added to the storyline), and Kit is defending the X title against the challenge of "The Franchise" Brooke Tyler, Laura Flame, and Stephanie Wade. Soon, the plan is for Kit to drop the title to Brooke (who will then enter a program with Melody Cuthill) and rise up to main event level to challenge Cherry Bomb for the #1 contendership for the world title. Oh, speaking of the Bomb, when I signed her away from USPW, I waited 6 months to debut her officially. I ran hype videos, promos, she got into backstage segments with Michelle Cox (aka Katherine Goodlooks, repackaged), and then exploded onto the scene at a PPV, costing Michelle the world title in a match against Wanda. Now, both Michelle and Cherry Bomb are sitting on B/B- momentum and they've never faced each other in the ring. Michelle has never uttered a word (Persephone talks for her) and the Bomb won't shut up. :p So we're now #2 (behind SWF) and will be International sized by the end of 09. 5SSW will be Cult by then, WINNOW will be Regional, CWWF might hit Cult and even BSC is Regional. I'm going to destroy AAA though (Anne Stardust won't accept my parent company requests....so I'll kill her promotion). My problem now is, I don't have enough spots for all the workers I'm developing. My roster is Global sized (basically, counting the workers I shuttle to and from development when their promotions aren't on tour) and I have like zero turnover. I'm going to fire Speedy Marie (if she was a hat, asses would wear her. She causes incidents at every freakin' show, literally) but that's only one spot freed up. I had planned to bring the Neptune Twins in as heels to challenge the Crush Gals but I've got no room for them. Nice problem to have, eh? :p

No but really...I'm just goofing around and waiting for a real world mod, I can't really get into Cornellverse games.

Never played Cornellverse beyond a couple of weeks before but enjoying SWF this time around. Approaching the Nothing to Lose PPV with the following card: Jack Bruce vs. Christian Faith vs. Vengeance vs. Remo - All-round beef here, Bruce beat Vengeance via DQ at the first PPV whilst Remo went over Faith, since then a lot's happened and it'll definitely be won by one of the heels...leaning towards Remo right now, he's an all-round badass who's been getting better ratings than Vengeance. Rich Money vs. Lobster Warrior - Money will retain the gold as his allies Brandon James and Darryl Devine play a part. Along with Emma Chase the three of them form The FA (Financial Arrangement) stable, who I have high hopes for. Thinking of a huge beatdown/injury angle with Lobster to keep him out of action long enough for a drastic change of gimmick. Just not sure what yet. Marc DuBois vs. Valiant - Ladder match for the Shooting Star title. I've pushed both guys a hell of a lot during this feud and am thinking Valiant will pick up the victory, though not sure if the feud will end right there. The Amazing Bumfholes vs. The Pain Alliance - Pain Alliance had an internal conflict angle going until new manager Carl Batch debuted and helped them get back on track, and even if they don't win here they will at some point. Want to give the Bumfholes new names, whatever the desired effect they just sound ridiculous. Joe Sexy vs. Jack Giedroyc - With Dawn's services allegedly on the line, basically to set up Sexy boasting on the following show about his victory, then Gilmore makes his return as a face with a character the polar opposite of his former ally's (Gentleman gimmick though it's not purely that), lecturing Sexy about his morals and telling him to grow up, etc. The two will feud for a while with Gilmore eventually being pushed up the card to feud with Remo/Vengeance, one of whom will hold the belt for a long while. Still might add another spot if I can get an angle together involving Enygma/Frehley/Train or someone of that mould in the next few weeks, but I'm fresh out of ideas for those guys at the present...the first two I have vague plans in mind for the future, but Train I really can't see any way of using him effectively now that the torch has been passed to Vengeance, so to speak.

Or, if the owner goal is really short, after it's gone you can sign those guys back!
