How to do an offline licence request:

After seeing 3 people post the same problem in 3 different posts in the last 2 days, i am just going to make a thread and explain it. I will base it in a QA format, i find they are a little easier to follow: Why do i have to register my copy of TEW08? This is done to stop pirates from playing the game for free, and from what I understand, the ELicense works great at this. Never seen a TEW cracked. From someone who is starting out in the game development field, nothing sucks more than having your work stolen, trust me. I have internet, so how do i register my TEW08? Install the program then enter the prodect code (an email should have been sent to you when you ordered the game with the code inside). DO NOT give your code out inless a member of Grey Dog Software is helping you with something. A GDS employee with rarely just ask you for a code aswell. I do not have the intertnet on the computer I wish to use for TEW08, what do i do? This gets a little more complicated, but still should not take anymore than 5 min. of your time. During installation on the computer you are using for TEW08, when you are asked for your licence number, you can select a "Generate an offline licence" or something to that effect. You will enter your code into a text box then TEW08 will generate a long text file with a bunch of random letters and numbers. Save this file, you will need it. Take this file to a computer that has the internet. Go to the website "http://www.license.net/" and input the text from the file you saved when you installed TEW08. copy the code part, not the instructions. If you do this correctly, the website well then give you back a text file much like the one you got during instalation. Copy that file to the computer you wish to use for TEW08. Now register your offline license and hit done. TEW08 says I am already using all my licences, what does this mean? When you purchased TEW08, you get 1 copy of the game. This means that you can have more than 1 copy of TEW08 installed at any time. So, you most likely need to un-license the license you are using and re-do the registration process above. To un-license your product, go the the control pannel, hit "classic view" if you are not already in classic view (classic view button should be to the right of the window). Select the ELicense tab and un-license your copy. If this does not work, a GDS employee might be needed to re-set your license for you, but please try and un-license your copy first as you can only reset your license once every 3-6 months. It still does not work! WHATS GOING ON?!?!!?!? Something went wrong and you should ask for more help in the "tech support" section of the forum.
