Maintaining Importance

Recommended Posts

Can someone explain how your promotion's importance works? It's not really defined in the help file that I could find and it's the one thing that when I'm playing a National promotion drops within two months to put me at Cult which is really pissing me off. I imagine the only way to go about raising it is to put on shows in the areas I've dropped?

Something about your popularity in each region multiplied by each regions importance gets your promotions importance in that region. The only way to ensure you don't lose importance is to put on better shows, thats the bottom line.

Okay, so, you guys will probably **** on me for this, but I don't care: Six months from now when I can finally be National again  will I get back there if I just use the in-game edit and boost my popularity to max? I pretty much feel cheated out of the National thing since it happened after all of two shows and I just want to get back there so I can play at the level I was before

As for editing your promotion, that is up to you, however in the event you are having problems with the game I suggest you dig through the forum for advice. The game is new, but there is already loads of advice on just the first three pages of this forum alone. Prehaps after reading and taking all the advice and discussion in you may be able to keep that promotion at National?;)

I just didn't think it was fair that I was dropped after all of two shows. I don't intend to keep my pop at 100% I just want to have a realistic experience at National, where if I'm going to fail it's going to be over a period of tested time. If I wanted to be cult I would have just started there.

I'd be willing to be the problem you are having is related to momentum. In my game I value momentum over popularity and skills. Without seeing your save game, what is the momentum of your main eventers right now?
I don't have any champions yet, but my main eventers range from B- to A.
What company are you running? Do you have an idea why you can't put on the shows to keep yourself at national? Assuming you have multiple wrestlers at A and not just one it looks like your momentum isn't bad. Do you have people with that kind of momentum on your undercard? Maybe I'm off base with the momentum here.
I'm running a created LuchaResu fed. It seems that my guys just aren't putting on top tier matches and it's hurting my overall shows. It's strange cause I have some really ace guys.
Try building your cards differently. Experiment with different placements. My personal fav. is a dark match that would be good enough for the show set to "work crowd." I lead the show off with one of my top matches, set to "all out match." Then I do some LM/Mid card match/matches depending on the amount of matches I'm booking with no specific focus. Then I pull out the big hitters with UM/ME wrestlers in matches set to "work the crowd" before my main event, which is always "all out." If you try enough different card placements you'll eventually find the right combo of worker placement and notes to get the most out of your main event, which will in turn make your cards better.

For instance my last card with PGHW: Dark Match: Team Toronto over Dread/American Elemental (work crowd/attempting to find a tag team partner with chemistry for Dread so I can get some use out of him) 8 mins (work the crowd) C Burning PRIDE over My user Avatar(an e-fed character of mine) and Davis Wayne Newton to retain the Tag Team Glory Crown (All out match) 10 mins C+ Angle: PRIDE Koiso gets on the mic and challenges Nobuatsu Tatsuko to a match at the next event (Storyline I have going between Burning PRIDE and Tatsuko/Sanda) 3 mins B- Jack Marlowe over Kozue Kawashima (no specific match focus) 10 mins C- Akinori Kwakami over Rhino Umaga (work the crowd) to retain the Historical Japan Championship 10 mins D Angle: Video plays highlighting the fued between Tatsuko/Sanda and Burning PRIDE 3 mins B Nobuatsu Tatsuko over Masaru Ugaki (work the crowd) 25 mins B Yoshimi Mushashibo over Buddy Garner to retain the Glory Crown (work the crowd) 35 mins B Angle: Yoshimi and Buddy Garner shake hands post match B 2 min Shuji Inukai and Raymond Diaz over Bryan Vessey and Eisaku Kunomasu (all out match) 40 mins B+ Overal Rating: B+ I'm not the best booker myself, I've just managed to find something that seems to be working at the moment until someone comes along with a "best way."

I guess I'll try a straight upwards build. Usually I've been building a bit, having a big match, then having an "intermission" match where I work the crowd with midcarders and then build back up 2-3 matches to an ALL OUT main event or two.
