Exclusive PPA contracts

Recommended Posts

Rather unexpected occurance in my MPWF game as i had a worker on an exclusive pay per appearance contract but then he signed for USPW on a standard PPA contract which i didnt think would be allowed? even more frustrating is the fact this worker is also giving USPW greater priority than MPWF, the company that gave him his first break.

Exclusive PPA means that he can only work for that one company, so if he decides to take on another contract (of any type) he HAS to leave the original company. Its not like a written contract where he can't be stolen - he can be stolen, but it will only (in general) be by companies that are bigger or more prestigious.

Yeah, Ex-PPA deals are generally for circumstances where you're the biggest promotion in an area, but aren't National, and you don't want your talent working for all the 'crappy little indies' as well so they'll always be available and won't get injured on other promotion's shows. There are only really two promotions in the game that can use Ex-PPA deals to their fullest extent at the start of the game; USPW (because the only two feds bigger than you will be stealing talent to written deals anyway if they wanted them) and 21CW (because you're the biggest promotion in the UK, you can be fairly sure they won't leave to jump down to RoF or MoSC). The other thing to look out for is a worker's active regions. If you're in Mexico, a few of your guys are going to be able to work in the States, and since you're only Regional, they've got loads of options. So an Ex-PPA deal would be a really bad idea (as you just found out). Of course, for workers who can only work in Mexico it would be useless anyway because of the non-agression pacts :p Watch out for active regions in USPW too, a worker who can work in Canada might well choose to jump to NOTBPW or CGC (or even 4C when they hit cult).
