Eisen-verse
I've always thought of TCW as "the enemy" since I'm pro-SWF (as you can see by my name. hah). I've tried playing as them in the past, however, always got bored pretty quickly (just like USPW as well). Maybe it was the fact that I hated pushing Liberty or something along those lines... but... I was looking over their roster and I really like the look of their company in '08. With that being said, I may start a new game with TCW but I'm not really 100% aware of how the company is to be booked. I'm not asking really who should feud with who or anything... More like how the actual match & angle process goes. I know that they are based upon pop and skill so that means people like Joey Minnesota could get over just by being a good in-ring talent... Which is something I like to hear. Having talented superstars is much more fun than pushing a talentless hack. But.. They also seem to be alittle less racey than the SWF... So, no risky gimmicks... Sexy segments and stuff like that? From the looks of it... TCW looks like a throwback to the NWA. Is that correct? Where there is less humor and entertainment behind it all and more of a focus on good wrestling, good characters, and good storylines... While taking everything very seriously in the form of competition. Is that true?
sabataged
Ya I think you could say TCW is kinda like a throwback NWA. And if thats the case The Syndicate is the 4 Horsemen. I usually dont book too many risky gimmicks/angles. I usually tend to stick to about 80% matches and 20% angles which are almost always Interviews, and videos. I do some attacks, but almost always just Promo's, Taunts, and Hypes interviews. They have some pretty descent talkers in Cornell, Wolf, Tornado, RDJ, and Rick Law. Sammy Bach isn't bad either. Basically they are set up for a good 6 month feud right off the bat. He have The Syndicate vs The Faces (RDJ, Tyson Baine, Ghengis Rhan, Rick Law, Scout, Guide). You can mix and match with thsoe quite a bit. I have heard of some turning Tornado face, or eventually turning Keith or Wolf face to take on Tommy. Its pretty fun, better then SWF to me, because I am not a big fan of ALOT of angles. I like just your basics, interviews and videos, which is what i stick to in TCW. Either way, alot of Tommy Cornell, and the show is guarenteed a B rating atleast.
Eisen-verse
So, with a company like TCW... Would you end up seeing "gimmicky" gimmicks? Like lets say I want to create an "Undertaker" kind of character... or... A "Mankind" kind of character in the cornellverse world. Would this be the kind of thing that you would see MORE in the SWF versus TCW?!
EricAdams
I always thought of SWF to be modern WWE and TCW to be pre-NWO WCW.

I liked pre-NWO wcw, however, I also like a little "gimmick" to my wrestling when it comes to wrestlers. If everyone is "Average Joe" who can wrestle then it can get somewhat boring. EricAdams
early-90s WCW had the worst gimmicks ever but they were mostly relegated to openers/Dungeon of Doom.

The early 90's was when I was just getting into watching pro wrestling so I don't remember much about that time period other than their TV show on Saturday night's. And that dufus Alex Wright. haha. Pretty hard for a short young kid to see some wrasslin'. But more on topic - I thought the same thing you guys did. SWF (WWF) and TCW (WCW, pre-NWO). Eisen-verse
The thing that pushes me to TCW is the fact that I love the SWF... however, can't ever seem to keep their popularity high enough. It always gets to a point where I'm afraid I'll get fired (in the new game at least) and then have wasted a few months of game play only not to be hired by anyone else. So, TCW looks like it could be cool since they are only at a National Level so there is still room for growth. SWF you have to get to Global... Which can be hard to maintain. TEWFan
I had never played TCW before, but reading this topic made me want to try.....and now I am in love! Seriously, I am running a big feud between The Alliance (all the guys that turned face + Ricky Dale Johnson & Danny Fonz) against the Syndicate and already got back to back B+ shows....one headlined by Genghis Rahn vs Tommy Cornell, the other a big tag match between RDJ & Rocky Golden vs Sam Keith & Wolf Hawkins. Yea, TCW has a lot of talent on their rosters... Not really all that "over" in some senses (versus SWF superstars)... However, they have some amazing talent who can pump out great matches. Especially when the product is leaning towards "better in ring action"... You can't seem to go wrong with their booking.
