I was just wondering how TEW 2008 runs on Vista. I have Vista Home Edition Basic and was considering installing the game on it. I have been running it using Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 on a virtual XP machine without much problem. Does it work good with Vista or should I keep it in XP?

The games tends to freeze during daily roster processings and such. It's just a short freeze, but it does it on every day I process. The game still loads everything normally, but it gets annoying sometimes. Just a minor issue. May be that I just need more RAM or something.

It's what is doing it to me. I just installed today's patch and the only time it has frozen so far in the 15 minutes I've been playing is when it was setting up my new game. Froze for about 5 seconds.

Spoke too soon. Froze when processing end of the day activities again. Processing CZCW's roster, to be exact.

Actually 08 seems to run a little slower than 07 did, although I've no idea why. My laptop isn't exactly new but it's not terrible - certainly not for a game of this type (I can run Football Manager with no problems). It's not a major problem, it never staight up crashes, just freezes for a couple of seconds in parts.

I too will agree and say TEW 2008 runs perfect on a Vista OS. The loading times take seconds, literally. I'm guessing it all depends on what your system is packing. But if you have a fairly decent $500-700 computer, you'll be fine.

Can any of the Vista users help me perhaps? I'm looking for my savegame, it's not located in the normal folder: C:\Program Files\GDS\TEW2008\Data\Default\SaveGames In there I can see 1 savegame which I created when I played as 'administrator'. The other one was just as simple user... I've ran a search on my pc, to no avail... Can you check how it's on your pc?

ive found that nothing shows up file wise unless youre running as an administrator.. i lost a save game that way and I dont know if theres a way to solve the problem, /get the files for that save game.. other than the 'running as administrator' annoyance the game runs smoothly on Vista.. not had a single problem.. not even had any freezing.. a big step up on 07 and even on WMMA (which only had minor freezing issues)

It's flawless, not had one crash. TEW07 was terrible for crashing and locking up when using Vista but the memory problems have all been fixed and it's stable. My Cornellverse games process pretty much when I click, few second on the loading screen at most, it does help having an overclocked quadcore and overclocked RAM though. ;) Real world mods can take more than a few seconds though, first few days are abit longer due to the large amount of feds and workers, it slowly gets quicker after all their initial calculations though.
