kevin7ee
Okay, I have several questions I hope you veterans can assist with. I've been an avid follower of the TEW series all the way back to the days of Promotion Wars and EWR. So thank you, Adam, for helping to fill up this little void of anxiety and desire to become a wrestling promoter. In truth, TEW08 is the first time I've actually dabbled into the little world of Cornellverse. Now on to the questions: 1. What's error 351? I only come across it on occasions after I've changed the names of the wrestlers. When I go to click on "view profile" the error message just pops up and the program shuts off. Anyway to fix this? Or are there better ways of adding alter egos on an on-going game? 2. I'm head booker of SWF. My promotion grew to Global size and as such, I was able to secure a tv deal for a new show, plus expanded SWF Supreme TV to Mexico and Japan. At the same time, I was sealed deals with a couple of ppv carriers to cover the non-US regions. So with all these new deals, I hired about 10 additional superstars to the roster. Guess what? As soon as I signed them, spending thousands in the process, I get an email on the next day telling me that I've fallen to Cult Size. Huh? From Global to Cult in a couple of weeks? What happened to National? It says that I've dropped to two Ds in America. So I checked my popularity and importance; it has hardly moved. Is this a bug? Coz last I checked, Tommy Cornell's little promotion is still enjoying his National status. If it's the US economy, how come it hasn't affected the other companies? 3. How to increase importance of the company? 4. Richard Eisen has been pissed off at me from the first week when I decided to sign 2 (only) guys with a -B industry average. Apart from hitting the goals (which is 22 months away) how do I make him happy? 5. After each week's Supreme TV, I get the message that the crowd feels there's no hot storyline to follow, or something along those lines. How do I counter this? My rivalry featuring Vengeance, Christian Faith and Jack Bruce (unchained) runs at a constant B+. 6. I've copied a data folder from TEW07 to the data directory of TEW08. I used the in-game converter and was told that I was successful in the conversion process. But when I tried to change databases, only the default is available. Any way to fix this? CubsFan915
I wouldn't call myself an expert, or anything, but I may be able to help on a couple of these.
1. What's error 351? I only come across it on occasions after I've changed the names of the wrestlers. When I go to click on "view profile" the error message just pops up and the program shuts off. Anyway to fix this? Or are there better ways of adding alter egos on an on-going game?
Sounds like you need to go to the Tech Support forum and post this one there.
3. How to increase importance of the company?
Increase your popularity. Importance is based on your popularity in a region, which is then multiplied by the region's importance to determine your promotion's importance.
4. Richard Eisen has been pissed off at me from the first week when I decided to sign 2 (only) guys with a -B industry average. Apart from hitting the goals (which is 22 months away) how do I make him happy?
From what I understand, hitting goals is the only way to make your owner happy. So, try not to piss him off any further. :)

CubsFan915
Ah, sorry - I was working from oldest to newest, and missed that thread. :)
D-Lyrium
I wasn't having a go at you, I was having a go at the guy who posted the exact same thread twice :p Although now looking at the date I realise that it was probably an accidental double-post, and not (as I first thought) a brand new copy of yesterday's :p
TheEdgeOfReason
I was wondering because I could have swore that Dylirium answered those questions yesterday. At least I know I'm not going mental.
