Question: Retired Wrestlers

I was wondering, in TEW 2008, can retired wrestlers be put into match? ie. The Genius is currently a "retired wrestler". However, I can still Advance Book him in a match. Does this mean I could actually use him in a match? What are the negative effects (if any) of putting a retired wrestler into a match? (if possible)

I believe you couldn't; You'd reach showdate and not be able to use him, thus not fulfilling a match and getting crapped upon by jizzillions of people. IF it were possible, people could get around it and have a bunch of Strong ro Chord matches.

You can use them. I just started a new game as MAW and I could put Rip Chord in a match. I had to make him a main eventer to do it (he could have been any active position, or I think ocassional wrestler would do the trick).

I remember in TEW '07 I edited Marcus McKing's skills to be a little better than what it was and put him in a match with one of my younger guys to do a Legend vs Youngster match. The match was short because I didn't give him amazing skills, especially since it was 2012 and he was in his mid-50's, but his popularity was worth it in the end. :p I'm pretty sure they can be retired and set to a 'Personality' and still be used in a match because this is how I did it with McKing. On a side note: when I look at Marcus McKing, I see NWO Hogan - anyone else? :)
