Heads up on an AVG/Elicense Conflict

Recommended Posts

Cross-posting information I found and posted on ootpdevelopments: "As of today's definition files, if you have AVG Anti-Virus' Resident Shield enabled, it will consider the C:\Windows\lcmmfu.cpl file to be a trojan threat. This file is only in place to verify that your game is properly licensed. Do not delete it, as it may cause your game to no longer open. In AVG, you can go to Advanced Settings -> Resident Shield -> Exceptions and then exclude the C:\Windows directory. It's not an ideal solution, but it will make your game work again." I haven't fully tested this with your games, but it does occasionally bring up an error when opening WMMA. The game will seem to load regardless.

I'e had AVG for years and it does use real time protection and will only delete if you thats how you set it up. It's never done me wrong. I tried norton and that was possibly the most horrendous piece of crap I've ever seen. So I uninstalled and went back to AVG.
