Question about Starting a game unemployed

Recommended Posts

It depends on how the mod is set up more then anything. I believe C-Verse has a few promotions that might be looking for a head booker when you first start, so you might get a couple offers at that time. Other MODS might have it already set up for each promotion. Quite a few have "New Promotions" set to start at specific times, and if they get an owner, they ussually will be looking for a booker right away. This ussually means you will get an offer as well. There is also the option to inquire about a job I believe. So, there are chance's, but to be honest....IF you don't except one of the offer's in the first week, chance's are your going to be passed up for a while, or at least till a new promotion comes along. Things like Booker's dieing or retiring might make for a job opening, but I have found that jobs bassically come at the beginning of the game... or shortly after an owner takes over a new promotion.

Alright thanks I am doing a game with SWF as well but I just thought I would try and see what happens when you start a game unemployed. It has been a month and I haven't gotten any offers and I didn't get any at the beginning but I'll have to see I guess. Thanks for the Reply TakerNGN74

Unless you've modded yourself into an uber-respected booker, you're probably not going to have a job just handed to you; in addition to prestige, bookers are evaluated for booking skill (not sure about this) and respect, both of which start empty. You can apply at a couple of places, and you get an e-mail whenever there's a new opening. But you have to go to the promotions screen, go to "business" and click on "submit application" or something like that for the promotion you want to work for.

The only thing the game looks at for hiring your character is reputation; booking skill is used only when the AI has to decide between non-user characters. I've never had offers just given to me; I've always had to apply. In the default Cornellverse, ROF almost always starts out hiring.
