Yeah that was it, sorry if I got your hopes up. It was just a big deal on a thread that got locked so I thought I'd "allude" to it. I personally was very happy to see it, a limit of two matches in six months seemed a bit harsh. Three (before the repeat booking penalties kick in) is more reasonable in my mind.

There is and never has been any limit of matches. In the many debates on this board over the last few weeks there's been plenty of comments from people who "haven't come across this yet, but it sounds bad", who I think have been convinced that you were limited to two matches, and there was no possible get round. Anyway, as everyone seemed to think that the feature was good in theory, and they can have there blow off match without any risk of punishment, I hope the complaints are at an end.

I feel like I should know the answer to this question... but apparently, I don't. If I download this patch, would the trigger change from 3 to 4 apply to my saved games or only to my future games? I would check on my own, but, no access to TEW at work. This isn't a huge deal, as I'm not really up for starting over any of my games, but figured it was worth asking.

The patch is save game compatible, and I would assume that you can now book three matches in six months with no risk of punishment. There's a remote chance that you can't if Adam stores match histories in a really strange way (and would only affect the next six months anyway), but I think there's a 0.0001% chance of this. So book a third match, and get no punishment. Either the patch has worked, or you're a great booker:)

I understand you can have as many repeat matches as you want, as long as the subsequent matches are better. It was my opinion that two matches in six months (before penalties might kick in) was a bit limiting, three fits my booking style better. I have come across this three times. The first time I thought it was three instead of two before the penalties kicked in. Once I received the warning I had to go on as I had advanced booked it. The other two times I knew but I tried to make the third match better (I didn't want to change what I had planned). Once I got the penalty, the other time I avoided it. No biggie and I didn't weigh in on the debate. I will say that having the same match three times in thirty events (assuming a weekly TV show you have 4 a month plus one event 5 events times 6 months) isn't a real problem with stale booking. Beyond that though and it becomes an issue. I think its a good compromise and shows that Adam listens to the players.

It's good to know I wasn't the only getting the urge to kick people's faces in whilst reading such threads. :D As for the patch/save game compatibility thing: Unless stated otherwise by Adam in the patch notes, the general rule is that ALL patches are compatible with saved games. I.e, if you install the patch, the fixes in that patch will still work with saved games. However, issues that have arisen DUE to a bug that's been fixed, will not un-happen in a saved game. For instance, if the bug was that duplicates of a worker were being created, the patch can't delete any duplicates that have already been created, but will stop any future duplicates being created. A patch to fix a finance issue won't 'fix' your finances, but will stop the finance issue happening again. And so on. Thus, it's always *recommended* that you start a new game with each new patch, but depending on what issues the patch fixes, it's not always *necessary* to do so.
Thank you. It's good to know I wasn't the only getting the urge to kick people's faces in whilst reading such threads. :D
I think that's the wrong attitude to have. For starters assuming that everyone complaining simply didn't understand the feature is inaccurate. Secondly I see nothing wrong with having a civil debate. You and everyone else here had the opportunity to weight in on the subject, instead of sitting back and getting "the urge to kick people's faces in" perhaps you could have added something to the discussion. If your unhappy about the change then present your own case but please do not, even jokingly, mention harming individuals here who are just trying to make this game better.
