CZCW's The Battle of Mexico (Card Feedback)

Recommended Posts

So I've long considered but never actually went through with running a CZCW game. I've finally decided to do it, and I am working on expanding into Mexico right now because the industry there is considerably better than the US at the moment. After over an hour of analyzing and painful talent trade negotiations (is E- really that much worse than E in popularity?), I put together my card for the first ever CZCW show run south of the border. . . CZCW's The Battle of Mexico MAIN EVENT - LUCHA LIBRE RULES FOR THE COSTAL ZONE CHAMPIONSHIP Ultimate Phoenix (c) vs Snap Dragon SPECIAL ATTRACTION MATCH Acid vs Angel De Mexico The Cannonball Kid vs Teddy Powell Atlantis Jr. vs Plague Masked Cougar vs Heavy Metal Anarchy Donnie J & Remmy Skye vs Insane Machine & Super Sonic As you can see, I signed up a couple of bigger names (which Cliff Anderson is none to happy about. . . he gave me a goal to increase cash to $750,000 at the beginning and a goal not to fall in debt at any time the day after I signed Teddy Powell to a $1500 PPA contract and made a talent trade with WLW for Acid). So far things are going great, and I am hoping that running the show in Northern Mexico (same location as MPWF, with the controversy of SOTBPW talent Cannonball Kid to boot) will prove succesful. Any thoughts on the card? Anything you'd have done differently? I tried to put something together that would go over well as a best of MPWF/CZCW with tape traders (I really wanted Electrico for one of the two main events but alas it wasn't to be). Hoping that I can get on with Los Deporte Hoy for a TV show soon and go from there.

Every game is different: All the potential and destiny stats are randomized, so this card could work in other saves and in others fail. And remember the momentum :P But few things. Ultimate Phoenix is C all around mexico at the start, so that gives you're main event a huge support. Snap Dragon altough is mid/low. midcarder, so the match would not be allowed to be so long as it should be. I would have instead used Phoenix vs. Acid as a main event, altough if you loaned Acid he would not want to lose (Don't know if this is the case as the show is in mexico.) I really haven't tried going to Mexico right from the start, but I do sign some mexican guys. Velocidad and Tigre Salvage or what his name was are a must :) And one final word; Those owner goals shouldn't be a problem at all, CZCW starts with so much money. After you've gained population in important areas you are starting to gain good profit with every show. Especially over the course of 1½ - 2½ years, depending on the lenght of the goal.

It wasn't in my initial plans to branch out to Mexico so quickly either, but the industry is soooooo much better there right now. My initial plan was to hire a few luchadors and some of the fitting big league cast-offs (The Cannonball Kid, Teddy Powell, Acid, etc.) and try an aggressive expansion. Unfortunatly, the only person I had that was good enough to trade with WLW for Acid won himself a touring contract after his initial appearances so now I can't get him at the moment. Cliff Anderson's owner goals are in conflict with my expansion plans, so I'm walking a thin line with right now. . . I've considered doing a diary based on this save because I generally get positive feedback, but unfortunately don't seem to run too long.
