[TCW] Taking them Global

Recommended Posts

After nearly a dozen false-start TCW games, I've finally figured out what I want to do with them. In 2008, Cornell realized that his brand of wrestling has truly global appeal. Not only the U.S., but Canada, Mexico, and Japan all have a strong traditional wrestling market. In an effort to expand and supplant SWF as the world's largest company, TCW introduced a new brand, the International brand. This brand, similar to what the 'E is rumored to be pursuing, is designed to help TCW expand into foreign markets. In my game, my character will be hired with the express goal of getting TCW to Global. The first stop will be Mexico. My strategy will be to go on a hiring spree throughout Mexico, stealing top stars from all three promotions to use as a springboard for the TCW International brand. A TV deal should be a cinch to acquire, and the International title will become a main event title keyed to that brand. I also plan to resurrect the Cruiserweight single and tag team titles, since so many of Mexico's workers are lightweights. Of course, Mexico is just the warm-up round. Competition there will be light, thanks to the power of our written contracts. Once we conquer Mexico, we will have to crack the challenging market of Japan, which is saturated with quality wrestling. Still, if we can keep a hold of Koshiro Ino and acquire some young, rising stars like SUKI we will have a chance at least to take on the Big Two of Japan. Needless to say I'm feeling ambitious and more than a little crazy. Taking on BHOTWG, PGHW, SWF, and all 3 lucha feds is so crazy it just might work. Or not, but it'll be a hell of a lot of fun to try.
You dont need to hire all those foreign guys. Basically you just need some good PPV/TV contracts. I went International without ever running a show outside the US. I am on verge of global and I have only ran in US/Canada.
Sure it isn't necessary, but it really adds to the global feel I think. Plus, it's an excuse to go on a ridiculous hiring spree which I love doing but feel guilty about unless I have a great reason for it. Also, I plan on mixing some of my core roster guys into the International brand as well so that there is a sweet blend of homegrown talent and foreign superstars.
