I already know the usual suspects will say "big deal they beat the third string show by about 15,000 people" how ever from gerweck;
- This week's edition of TNA iMPACT! on Spike TV did a 1.03 rating. This is up from last week's 0.9. Also it means that iMPACT! just bairly beat ECW in the ratings this week as that show did a 0.96.
No one can make an excuse this time. Both shows on their regular times, no intrusions.

Not surprising. Last week's show (or at least the one that aired down here in Australia last week) was one of the best TV shows I've seen in a long, long time. The Motor City Machineguns put on an awesome match against the two dudes from Dragon Gate, Samoa Joe started it off with a kick ass match against Kaz, you had Kurt Angle and AJ Styles developments... It was seriously a very, very fine show. The action was super quick in the ring, I loved it. More of the same please bartender.

Just a few more things on that... WCW Monday Nitro became hot off an extended period of doing some things different then their counterpart - international cruisers, the nWo suspense. WWF Monday Night RAW is WAR got hot against Nitro by doing something different, for an extended period - new stars, a bit of crash and a bit of attitude. I think TNA Impact needs to continue along those lines. It can set itself up by being different by being a fast paced wrestling action show, compared to RAW and SmackDown! that are limited by move restrictions etc. If they do that, they can take off. If they go back to Russo-nomics, they will struggle, because the "E" has already done that, and then refined it. Fans historically are showing that they won't change unless you give them something that's new and different.

Last weeks show was great and would make people want to tune in again the following week. ECW was pretty poor this week, Sydal vs. Striker was good but I wasn't really kept interested for the rest of the show.

Impact has been really good lately. The World X Cup is a great idea, although I feel it could be booked a little stronger (how about some video packages telling us who exactly are in each team, for example) Usually I watch every other Impact, depending on my mood on a Saturday, but for the last few weeks I've been eager to watch every single one (the awesome UK house show I went to probably helped in that regard) Go Impact. Keep pushing the X-Division. Keep giving the Dudley Boys the microphone. Stop making Samoa Joe so f'n whiny.

Koslov has impressed me vs. Curry Man and Kaz, I hope he gets a full time contract after the X cup is over. This weeks TNA was streets ahead of this weeks ECW show, so I'm not surprised that it got good ratings.

Not surprised that Impact's ratings have gone up as the shows have been very good for the past 2 months or so. Good storylines, letting the workers perform to their full abilities and the fact its on Bravo means that I'm watching TNA rather than the WWE at the moment. If WWE drop the ball witht he draft then I think I might give up on them for a long old time. So sick of this stupid sack of this child friendly crap. Since they killed off WCW they have done everything in their power to get away from the ingrediants that made them successful.

Doubt I'll ever see anything I enjooyed as much as the old Cruiserweight Division on Monday Nitro back in the day, but lately. I've been liking Impact a lot more than the Raws and SmackDowns I've been seeing. That tag team match between the Machine Guns and the Dragon's Gate guys was just what I've been looking for, but I had to watch the replay to get the full enjoyment out of it; the first time I was too busy worrying that The Dudley Boys were gonna come out there and pile up all four of them, and then tell us how they're the greatest team in wrestling history yet again. You're preaching to the choir here, Dudleys, but there's been enough of the Guns getting piled up, ya understand. My only real gripe with TNA lately is that, from what I can tell, Jay Lethal hasn't really been that upset about being robbed of the X-Division championship, (too busy with wedding stuff, I know, but it just seems like he'd want his belt back), as well as the general absence of Petey Williams, the X-Division champ. Since they seem to be pushing the division, seems like the champion would be on more is all. Other than that, no real complaints now. I am still hoping that TNA can turn the tide in wrestling though. Let's hope for more victories for TNA in the future. :)

Don't mean to derail this thread, but speaking of Impact, the videogame: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/35392.html The game is looking rather good. There looked like some slight clipping issues when the wrestlers are in a corner, and parts of their body go through the ropes, but the gameplay looks smooth. I'm not sold on the "reconstructive surgery become a pro wrestler storyline" (If Russo didn't write it, I want to find the guy who did, and ask him what he was on when he came up with that brilliant idea), but Candice Michelle's magic wand can turn men into women, so the 'E games stories aren't that much better. I just hope it plays as well as it looks.

Joe and Styles are hilarious.

Petey broke his orbital bone and is only wrestling in PPVs right now as far as I know until his eye heals... other than that he's just being shown off and on so people don't know he's injured. Right before TNA had a House Show in my town... I think it was actually 5 days prior was when he got injured... so I think it was the first week of May. He was supposed to have a match with Dutt... and they replaced him with Curry Man. He appeared and beat down Curry Man. You know... I think the World X Cup should be a year long thing. Have about 8 or 9 teams with 6-8 workers per team... and just have 2 matches a week... it would draw HUGE interest and I'm sure TNA would run across a gem in doing it. It would put more emphasis on the X-Division and TNA as a whole. And I gotta laugh... did WWE get the wrong Kozlov or what?! :cool:

I dunno, I'm sorta digging both Khozlov's right now :) They've each made it to the right company at any rate. Petey did some matches in the UK, wearing his mask and getting some awesome "Mrs. Steiner" and "Stei-ners-Rent-Boy!' (clap-clap-clapclapclap) chants. Although the show I went to was the only one without a Canadian Destroyer. Gutting. Homicide countered it, and 3,000 fans went "Aww" in unison. Magical in it's own way, but we would have exploded for that Destroyer had he actually hit in (The same thing happened when Homicide went for the Gringo Killer 3 seconds later) I'm not sure a year-long X-Cup would work out, but definitely longer, or at least longer build, to introduce the guys. Also, once the competition has started, DON'T hold any more preview matches. Kaz vs Khozlov was a good match, but it would have meant more if it were for points. I can't explain exactly why that bothered me, but it did.

Yeah a year might be too long... but 3-6 months would be perfect. The way it's set up now means the winning team will no doubt have less than 10 points... the build to the Ultimate-X just isn't gonna be long enough to get many people excited about it.

/nod. I think they should build it more as well. I'm kind of excited about their ratings, hoping for something special... Fact is, I think that's why we are seeing some of the things we are seeing now in WWE. They have improved in some of the ring performance's, and even the diva's... and unfortunately, sometimes they have one of the best match's lately. I've always said the most fair way to match up TNA would be with ECW ratings. So this is a good sign to me.

That's the exact same finish as the Brentwood (Essex) show. Just wondering, as Wales is a fair few hours away.
Which show did you catch mate? That's the exact same finish as the Brentwood (Essex) show. Just wondering, as Wales is a fair few hours away.
I went to Coventry. I hadn't found any reports anywhere about what happened at the Essex show, so I took a wild guess. Good to know we weren't the only ones who went without the Destroyer ;) P.S. Tickets for TNA next UK tour in January go on sale on Friday. In my opinion they are totally over-reaching in terms of venues. This last tour, they pretty much sold out 2,000 seater arena's for 4 shows (although as I said, Coventry was 3,000) but now they're aiming for Wembley Arena (12,500 seats) Birmingham National Indoor Arena (13,000) and the Manchester Evening News Arena (a whopping 21,000 seats) I feel sorry for them. They had such good shows over here, and next time they're going to be disappointed when pretty much the same numbers show up... So many empty seats.
