Botched Attacks in storylines

I'm showing my stoopidity again but I'm a tad confused. I'm writing a storyline where, in a match, I want to have a guy's tag-partner run in and do a botched attack, accidently costing him the match. When setting up the road agent's notes, do I therefore set the target as the tag-partner's opponent, as that's who the attack was intended for, or the tag partner himself, as that's who will be affected by the attack?
