crayon
Given the differences in culture, and how polite and applogetic the japanese are known for being, I'm just wondering if a different approach should be taken when setting personalities for all the puro workers.. Would it be a fair assumption that there's less ego and/or selfishness and manipulation happening in that scene, compared to the US, as a whole? Or is it pretty much the same thing no matter where you go?
tommytomlin
From reading Ring Of Hell, I'd say they're just as evil as American wrestlers.

BurningHamster
I'd say maybe a bit less manipulation and more loyalty in many cases but also most of the workers would be less social. There are exceptions of course, Kawada for instance is a miserable bastard, Onita was very selfish, Great Sasuke is kind of manipulative and not the most honest guy around from what I have heard. Some other people, like Masato Tanaka I haven't heard anything bad about. Main thing to remember is that in Japanese wrestling there is much more of a hierarchy, rookies job, veterans are made to look strong. Getting a push may not be a winning streak but simply letting a young guy look competative in a loss. Also it's not uncommon for people to bully the rookies a bit. So yeah, maybe give the veterans a bit more ego and the rookies virtually none.
