Over the next few posts I will be presenting an overview of what the wrestling world looks like at the end of 2011. Part one will be (21CW to Exodus 2010), Part Two (GCG to OLLIE) and Part Three (PGHW to WLW, with FCW saved for last !) Wrestling World Overview- Part One 21st Century Wrestling Owner: Jeff Nova / Head Booker: Pitbull Brown Prestige: E+/ Money: $ 4,978,555 Size- Regional D+ (importance) in South,UK, D in Central Europe & Mediterranean, D- in rest of UK and Scandinavia, E+ in Eastern Europe Current Champions: World- Shane Hannigans (since May 2011), United Kingdom - Rolling Johnny Stones (since December 2012), UK Tag Team- Pitbull Brown & Leo Price (since April 2011). Current Main Eventers: Hugh De Aske (23), Jonathan Faust (29), Shane Hannigans (35), Stevie Stoat (35). Notes: Just thought it would be interesting to give their ages, to show how old or young each promotions main event is Show Ratings: Have on average been around the C-/D+ range, with their better shows occasionally getting up to a C. Television: 21CW- Best of British Wrestling- One Hour late night Mondays on Euro Cable Sports 4. Coverage in UK and Europe, ratings currently around 0.05. 32 Episodes left on the contract. Summary: The 'Sports Entertainment' revolution in UK Wrestling that Jeff Nova envisioned never really happened, however despite being officially on the same size level as ROF and MOSC, they remain the UK's largest promotion and probably the biggest in Europe too. ______________________________________________________ 5 Star Supreme Wrestling Owner: Sagurako Kagawa/ Head Booker: Kuniyoshi Chishu Prestige: B-/ Money: $14,096,669 Size: Cult B- in Kanto, C+ in Kinki & Hokkaido, C in Chubu, Chugoku & Kyushu, C- in Tohoku/Shikoku, E/E- in rest of world. Current Champions: World- Fuyuko Higa (since Septemebr 2011), All Asian- Shiori Jippensha (since September 2011), Tag Team- 'The Nature Girls' June Butler & Chitose Ariwara (since December 2011). Current Main Eventers: Amber Allen (24), Dragon Assasin (31), Fuyuko Higa (21), Joanne Rodriguez (32), Megumi Nakijima (24), Raku Makuda (31). Show Ratings: Mostly B-, occasionally stepping up to B or falling to C+. Strongest show was a B+ but that was a one off, mainly off the back of an A rated main event between Fuyuko Higa and Megumi Nakijima. Weakest show was rated C but like the B+ at the other end of the scale was a one off. Television: 5SSW In Action- One Hour 'Tour Highlight's show Early Evening, Thursdays on All Japan TV. Coverage in Japan, rating around 0.65. 17 Episodes left on the contract. Summary: 5SSW are without doub the most prestigious womens promotion in the World and often produce wrestling of a higher quality than that of their male counterparts in over promotions and without any over Joshi promotions currently running in Japan they have a monopoly on their niche market, with new generation stars like Fuyuko Higa, Amber Allen and Megumi Nakijima stepping up to make up for the losses of Sensational Ogiwara, Thunder Hike, Kit Hatoyama and Crusher Ichihara through retirement over the years. __________________________________________________________ Angel Athletic Association Owner: Anne Stardust/ Booker: Catherine Quine Prestige: E-/ Money: $1,941,864 Size: Regional D in North West, D- in Mid West, F+ in South West & British Columbia. F- everywhere else. Current Champions: Femme Fatale- Raven Nightfall (since December 2011), Top Contenders- Devils Daughter (since July 2010), Tag Team - Debbie Rose & Kate Lilly (since March 2011). Current Main Eventers: Joanne Rodriguez (32), Raven Nightfall (35), Sara Marie York (27), Wanda Fish (36). Show Ratings: Montly shows mostly around the C/C- range. Their best show Womens of Wrestling in July did get a B- rating, but this appeared to be a one off , as they've not returned to the same heights since. Summary: North America's longest running and top all womens wrestling promotion, AAA have begun to expand their horizons beyond their home region over the past year putting down on a relatively strong marker in the neighbouring Mid West region. The one weakness that you can point at them and also could point at them is somewhat static booking and being satisfied with the status quo, leading to their champions often having over long title reigns. _________________________________________________________ Australian Pro Wresting Owner: James J McMinster, Head Booker: Sean Quartermainne Prestige: D/ Money: $ 778, 198 Size: Regional D+ in Eastern Australia, D - in Western ,E+ in New Zealand, E in Central. Current Main Eventers: Big Daddy Horne (45), Debonair David Peterson (37), New Zealand Pitbull (41), Swoop McCarthy (23). Show Ratings: Consistenly round the C Range. Television: APW Bring The Pain- One Hour Late Night Saturdays on The Bloke Channel. Ratings currently around 0.03. 24 Episodes left on the contract. Summary: Quite honestly does anyone outside of Australia really care ? And given that they are only at Regional level do the People of Australia really care all that much about wrestling in general ? The main event comprises of perhaps the one true 'star' to come out of Australia in Swoop McCarthy and a bunch of over the hill veterans. At least when there was more than one promotion in Australia, things were a little more interesting. ___________________________________________________________ Babes of Sin City Owner: Honey Golightly/ Head Booker: Marilyn Stardust Prestige: F/ Money: $ 682, 297 Size: Small E in South West, F- everywhere else Current Champions: Queen of the Ring - Gorgon (since September 2011), Girl Power Tag Team- 'Bad to the Bone' Alison Capone & Vampella (since June 2011). Current Main Eventers: Gorgon (31), Sara Marie York (27), Tracy Brendon (28). Show Ratings: Monthly shows mostly D-, but have twice peaked at D+ this year. Have to their credit improved as a promotion this year, as only a year ago their shows were mostly in the E range. Summary: Are Babes of Sin City, the notoriously awful T&A promotion out of Las Vegas still the worst promotion in the world ? Because a strange thing happened this year, they actually started putting on better quality wrestling. Perhaps they have realised that they need to provide a little more substance, a little bit more than just 'attractive' women rolling around half naked. Perhaps putting the title on the decidely non attractive Gorgon was a sign of a new direction. Who knows but BSC aren't as terrible as they were even just a year ago. Best shows have peaked at A, whilst worst shows have bottomed out at C+. Television: BHOTWG Lords of the Ring- 90 Minute Tour Higlights Package Monday Evenings on Japanese Sports Vision. Coverage across Japan. Current show ratings around 2.35. 38 episodes left on contract. PPV: Currently shown across the whole of Japan via Emperor Choice. Biggest Buy Rate: 1.93 (Fire Dream of the Immortals- March), Last Buy Rate: 1.69 Summary: Though it can't really be called a full blown crisis just yet BHOTWG have been past by their old rivals GCG and the upstart juggernaut that is WLW over the past few years. You could say that things have had a complete flip around in Japan with the two promotions that were unquestionably the top two (BHOTWG and PGHW) for most of this current decade now finding themselves in the postion of being the number three and four promotions in Japan with BHOTWG once the top promotion in Japan, now finding themselves a still competitive but rather humbling fourth. Don't know why but I think I could do a better job of booking this storied but currently troubled promotion. ;) ____________________________________________________________ Canadian Charisma Championship Combat Owner: Troy Winner/ Head Booker: Joey Poison Prestige: E-/ Money: $184,057 Size: Cult D+ in Ontario, D in Quebec, F+ in British Columbia & Prairies, F- everywhere else. Show Ratings: Monthly shows consistently in the C Range. Summary: A policy to put on shows in Quebec on almost a regular basis as their home base of Quebec, resulted in 4C rising to 'Cult Size' this year. Realistically though they are still a long way behind the more established CGC and NOTBW. However rising to Cult Size has seen them attract bigger names with the likes of the well travelled Jack Marlowe and Edd Stone boosting their main event scene. Question marks remain though, if they have the solid financial backing to maintain their cult status. Current Main Eventers: Alex DeColt (37), Bobby Thomas (35), Dan DaLay (36), Jack Marlowe (36), Ryan Powell (31), Trent Shaffer (26). Coverage across the whole of Canada, mainland U.S and Puerto Rico. Current show ratings around 1.50. 34 episodes left on contract. PPV: Currently shown in Canada on Canada 1-Choice. Biggest Buy Rate: 0.36 (DeColt Wrestle Festival- Day 2: April), Last Buy Rate: 0.28. Summary: Firmly established as Canada's number two promotion, they look unlikely to challenge NOTBPW for the top spot any time soon. Things have settled down since they were rocked by the departures of three out of the four DeColt brothers and top heel Eddie Chandler over the years. One thing they do have is a relatively young main event, with their current World Champion- Trent Shaffer the youngest of the bunch at only 26, so in terms of being set for the future they are already in capable hands. However their problem over the years has been keeping hold of their top stars, at some point NOTBPW, TCW or even SWF (if they can get back on track) will come calling. Show Ratings: Monthly shows consistently in the C Range. Summary: The all women's promotion headed by Sean McFly's younger sister appear to be following the same sort of model as fellow Canadian independent 4C of gradually building a fan base in not only one Region but two regions. Whilst this has resulted in them not yet moving up to 'Regional' status it well work out as a better long term plan. Interestingly though they have decided to concentrate on building their popularity in the Ontario and Quebec area's , rather than in their 'home base' of The Prairies region. Summary: CZCW have been firmly established as one of the top Regional promotions for about the past decade providing South West wrestling fans with some of the best wrestling action on the U.S independent circuit. However people have been waiting for them to show a bit more ambition and attempt to expand into new markets for years but Cliff Anderson has never shown those sort of intentions and seems content with CZCW's place in the Wrestling World. They actually looked in danger of taking a step back with the relatively poor Coastal Zone Title run of Harry Allen, but have got back on track since they put their main belt on the talented Ultimate Phoenix _____________________________________________________________ European League of Professional Fighters Owner: Gareth Wayne/ Head Booker: Bob Casey Prestige: F- / Money: $ 15,226 Size: Local F in Central Europe & Mediterranean, F- everywhere else. Summary: ELPF are a half-baked European based equivalent of the INSPIRE promotion in Japan run by a couple of American non-entities who didn't make it their home country. Running shows in tiny community Hall type venues across Europe they are short on money and short on fans and despite only starting up this year are probably the most likely promotion to go out of business. Current Main Eventers: Bam Bam Johansson (27), Byron (35), Doctor Insane (44). Show Ratings: Monthly shows consistently in the D Range. Summary: EWA with their 'Sports Entertainment' emphasis have consistently been a step between their more serious rivals UEW, since the end of the previously dominant UCR promotion resulted in the two rival promotions with differing promotions starting up. Their fans have also had to suffer through two years of 'Alpha' Bam Bam Johansson being the Universal champion and thus the face of the promotion. ___________________________________________________________ Exodus 2010 Owner: Diamond Furusawa, Head Booker: Tasuku Shinozuka. Current Main Eventers: Ketsueki Karasu (30), Tasuku Shinozuka (43), White Samurai (27). Show Ratings: Mostly in the lower D Range/upper E range earlier in the year, but improved greatly in second half of year and have now managed to put on shows in the lower C range. Summary: The relatively new Japanese independent has a bigger fanbase across Japan than similarly sized promotions like Hinote Dojo and Pro Wrestling SAISHO but because of their adoption of a touring schedule have never been able to maintain popularity in one area of Japan long enough to establish themselves as a 'Regional' promotion. Their roster is relatively young with a smattering of veterans at the top of the card and if they can 'survive' the first few years they could end up establishing themselves as a refuge for wrestlers to rebuild their career or as a launching pad for future stars.

Summary: Only half a decade ago GCG looked to be a dead and buried promotion, they were a shadow of their former selves and had fallen far behind old rivals BHOTWG, the rapidly popular PGHW, whilst WLW were quickly gaining a cult following. But with a core of home grown stars, blended with some genuinely talented gaijins, GCG have regrouped and fought back to the point that they are now more popular than they have ever been since their 70s/80s heyday. Summary: INSPIRE the break-away group formed by a bunch of BHOTWG dissidents, who were unhappy that BHOTWG wanted to move away from the MMA influenced style favoured by then main event stars such as Tadiyukki Kikkawa and Raul Hughes, have in honestly carved out a nice market for themselves in Japan. But they haven't quite become the major success story Kikkawa probably would have hoped for. Did Kikkawa & co. hurt their former Employers ? Given the downturn in BHOTWG fortunes, the answer to that question is yes. But a small yes, as it has not been at the devastating rate they would have hoped for and they probably weren't prepared for the resurgence of GCG and the emergence of the decidely un-INSPIRE like WLW as major forces in Japan either. They are financially sound and are likely to be around for sometime yet, doing the same thing they've always been doing. That being said, they have often put on better shows than the more ambitious 21CW and are perhaps producing some of the best wrestling seen in an MOSC ring since Cliff 'Dark Angel' Wilson was first making a name for himself. But they've never been able to keep down a consistent roster and they have been rocked by their biggest stars and champions walking out on them at the end of the contracts, the latest example being Genio Verde who was holding not only the Campeon de Mundo but also one half of the Campeones de Parejas. Despite the constant revolving door talent, they have managed to put on consistently good shows that often match the more established promotions in Mexico in terms of quality, but you just feel that if they had more settled roster they could become a bigger threat. Current show ratings around 0.20. 33 episodes left on contract Summary: Even though MPWF have managed to stay competitive with rivals OLLIE and SOTBPW, they still probably find themselves as the Number three promotion in Mexico but they no longer look in danger of losing their number three spot to the upstart MHW anytime soon. Rather worringly compared to their rivals, MPWF have a somewhat ageing main event and they're doesn't seem to be anyone from the undercard ready to step up anytime soon. They also seem to have semi-forgotten about the Trios Titles- the same team has held them for over two years, and once in a blue moon MPWF remember they have these titles- have a title defence and then forget about them for about another four or five months. Show Ratings: Monthly shows mostly in the C Range for most of the year, but suddenly hit a rich vein of form from October onwards and now producing B/B- rated shows on a regular basis. Summary: MAW were originally set up as some where young wrestles could come to learn their trade before moving on to bigger promotions. However it's become quite clear over the past few years given their sudden switch around in hiring policy to favouring established veterans over raw youngsters that Rip Chord has switched his ambitions for the Virginia based promotion. At the very least he seems to want MAW to at least establish themselves as a top Regional independent in the vein of CZCW and over the past few months they have been putting on the best shows of any non National sized promotion anywhere in the world. Show Ratings: In the C Range for most of the year, but hit a slump towards the end of the year from October onwards with a string of D+ rated shows. Summary: On the plus side NYCW have addressed the problem of having an ageing roster, bringing in younger talent over the years and presenting a more dynamic product. It's still not exactly CZCW but they do have a fair few people who can take to the air these days, which would have been unthinkable even just a few years ago. But despite this injection of talent, they still hamper themselves with questionable booking. Examples include the four year Tag Title reign of Rick Sanders and the Masked Mauler, though to be fair to NYCW they did finally address that problem this year and the Tag Title scene has been revitalised. And though Steve Flash was deserving perhaps more than anyone of a run with the Empire title in NYCW, prior to him winning the belt for the first time back in 2007, did he really need to hold the title almost uninterrupted for the past four years ? and who do they have to finally end Flash's latest run with the belt- Honest Frank, an over the hill veteran not even currently recognised by the NYCW fans as main event calibre wrestler. PPV: Currently shown in Canada on Canada 1-Choice. Biggest Buy Rate: 0.58 (September Scramble: September), Last Buy Rate: 0.56. Summary: NOTBPW have firmly established themselves as Canada's biggest promotion and have had a reputation for putting on some of the best in-ring competion to be seen anywhere in the world and apart from the sadly injury enforced retirement of arguably the most talented wrestler of his generation Sean McFly, things perhaps couldn't be rosier for them. However if they aren't prepared to address them in the next few years, they could have problems on the horizon. Everyone in the upper card (Main Eventer/Upper Mid card) of NOTBPW is over 35 and not getting any younger and though a fair few of them could go on some time yet, they don't seem to be producing any new stars. One has to wonder if the abandonment of a mid-card singles title has resulted in a stepping stone being taken away for rising new stars. Short term an 'old' main event for NOTBPW shouldn't be a problem for them, especially as the veterans in question still have 'it' but give it a few years and it could start to become one. Television: OLLIE Guerreros del Anillo - 1 Hour Saturdays Early Evening on Los Deportes Hoy. Coverage across Mexico and in South West USA. Current show ratings around 0.25. 34 episodes left on contract. Summary: Mexico's oldest promotion and the oldest promotion in the world for that matter, OLLIE haven't really gone forward over the past few years, or gone backwards for that matter, they've just sort of stayed at the same level. The most interesting thing in terms of a talking point has been the end of the Phoenix-SWARM feud that resulted in SWARM being banished from OLLIE but Phoenixe's II and III turning Rudo. They do also have the supremely talented Gino Montero on their roster but despite a very brief reign with the Universal Title back in 2009 and the fact that many tipped him to be the next true superstar in Lucha Libre, OLLIE have never got behind Montero with a sustained push. At 22 he's still young, but many feel he has done his 'apprenticeship' now and that if OLLIE want to regain their spot as the top promotion in Mexico, then it's time they truly got behind the prodigiously talented second generation star.

Summary: PSW are financially secure, but that's the only good thing you could say about them and that's only because Naess and co are running the promotion like a bunch of cheapskates. I suppose the fact that DaVE went under, he wants to be financially prudent but it's come at a cost and that's the quality of the product they are putting on. The main event is basically an old boys club of former DaVE talent, they really know how to flog a feud to death (Johnny Martin must have fought The Wolverine about a thousand times- Ok that's an exaggeration but it feels like it) and the handling of all their titles, especially the Tag Titles is nothing short of a joke. Second coming of DaVE they are not. Biggest Buy Rate: 2.27 (Night of PRIDE 2011- March), Last Buy Rate: 1.81 Summary: The word crisis has been bounded around more with BHOTWG, but PGHW have also been losing ground of late in the intriguing 4-way battle in Japan (quite honestly the competition in Japan has never been hotter). For the first time in years PGHW look to be making some mis-steps the main event isn't getting any younger and apart from Pride KOISO (who isn't exactly a young lion) no one is really making the step up. The mega push of Alexander Robinson is being cited as a major reason for PGHWs recent down turn in fortunes, because as Glory Crown champion he becomes the 'face' of the promotion. Robinson is a capable performer and well respected for his Tag Team with Lee Bennett but he is Glory Crown material, yet he has now become a two time champion, this was despite the fact his first run was one of the worst received runs in PGHW history. Admittedly the loss of Yoshimi Mushashibo for a whole year was a blow, but with better booking they could have got round that. They weathered the storm of 21CW taking some of their better talents a few years back and have seemed to come out the other side stronger, with the likes of seasoned performers Merle O'Curle, Walter Morgan and Stevie Stoats and rising stars like Billy Robinson really bringing the goods inside of the squared circle. Biggest Buy Rate: 11.77 (The Supreme Challenge 31- July), Last Buy Rate: 9.55 Summary: For the second time in the last few years SWF find themselves dropping to 'Cult' size. In reality they are still one of the most popular promotions in the world and they still had the top PPV buy-rate this year with The Supreme Challenge. But the decision to concentrate on trying to further expand their popularity outside of their home base in the U.S has resulted in their home fans kind of turning their back on the promotion in favour of rivals TCW and a noticeable loss in popularity. Of course this 'crisis' resulted in Farrah Hesketh losing the book, after she made a bright start. Some will say that she was a little unlucky, as the quality of her shows weren't actually all that bad and that the decision to concentrate on the International market, was Richard Eisen's idea. Who knows but as ever with Eisen there has to be a scapegoat. If any promotion has the resources to turn it back around and reclaim their spot at the top of the wrestling world it is SWF, but the constant yo-yoing between Global and Cult status is hurting their prestige in the eyes of the wrestling community. What TCW have done right is concentrate on maintraining their popularity in their home markets, and yet the International markets take care by themselves via TV/PPV deals and making the occasional visit. Tommy Cornell has also realised that the promotion doesn't have to be all about him and has put his trust in others to 'carry' TCW alongside him, many people will be surprised to learn that Cornell hasn't actually held the World Title since November 2008, that's over three years since he held the gold and apart from Joel Bryant, the main event has youth on their side with current World Champion Joey Minnesota, Rick Law and Wolf Hawkins all under 30. Which has led to many fans coming up with the conspiracy theory that this rivarly between the two promotions is a bit of a 'work' and that it's still UCR but with a brand split. It is quite telling though that when Louis Figo Manico decideed to come out of his brief 'retirement' that he decided to join up with UEW, confirming that out of the two European promotions UEW are putting on the better quality product. Of course the up-surge in USPW's popularity coincided with the arrivals of big names like Bruce The Giant and James Justice but both of them have now moved on and though they have the national wide exposure to keep their place as the number 3 promotion in America, they don't look like troubling SWF and TCW for the top two spots anytime soon. Biggest Buy Rate: 9.51 (Champions and Challengers- August), Last Buy Rate: 9.10 Summary: The rise of WLW over the past few years has been an incredible one as they have risen from a cult alternative to the more po-faced traditional promotions of GCG, PGHW and BHOTWG to becoming arguably the biggest promotion in the world, turning themselves into a Global brand....something that the three rival promotions in Japan had yet to achieve. However this was perhaps the first year that the WLW juggernaut hit the brakes. Some of the undercard (especially long term employees) had become dissatisfied with their lack of a focused push, leading to some of them deciding to move on and the Universal Title run of KOKI Ishibashi (which may have been a desperate attempt by WLW management to appease the old guard) was a major mis-step (with Alexander Robinsons title runs in PGHW, it seems to be the theme in Japan this year). Summary: The feeling this year, is that we didn't go backwards but didn't really go forward this year either. The ambition is there to expand into other markets but right now we don't quite have the financial security to put together a sustained push. Compared to other independent promotions like PSW our financial situation doesn't look so healthy, but they stick to one show a month and run with with a much smaller roster. Plus the vibes I have been getting from the boss, is that he is more interested in seeing FCW grow, as opposed to making them into a profitable company. It would of course be nice to do both though and in terms of securing FCW's long term future, we may have to scale back on the ambition. Even though you're not totally done with the wrestling world overview, I'd like to take the time to thank you for doing it. I know from personal experience how time consuming it can be, especially went you have your next shows planned out and are dieing to see what happens. Also it's cool to see the differences in how games turn out in comparision to your own. Though to be honest, I would love to be facing your FCW right now. Thanks to PRP and Gonzalez doing double duty in FCW and TCW I have to compete with PRP's A* and Gonzalez's B rating in popularity. I can't wait till those two retire. Seeing Allen Amber on top of 5-Star is pretty cool to see, though I will have to add that BSC are actually doing pretty well in my game. They rose to Regional!
Veddy cool. Out of curiosity, is the Masked Patriot holding gold with Burning Hammer Brandon Smith, or the newer Masked Patriot?
Can't be sure but I'm going with the actual Masked Patriot since their isn't a The in front of the name.

Good read on the world update, TK. As I said before you started, I love when a writer takes the time to do something like this, as it not only gives you a better feel for the world around the promotion in the diary, but its interesting to see how things can go differently in different games. Thanks for taking the time on this!

The wrestling world review is now complete...... It'll be all review stuff this week, as I've got the roster review to do as well. Might not bother with the awards this year though, they're a nice idea but just another time consuming exercise and probably by the time I have done the roster review I will want to get on with booking shows again.

He is also frighteningly fast. He's still a solid performer but has probably suffered from having Ultimate Phoenix on the roster. Phoenix does a similar act heroic masked babydace act and whilst Angel is good Phoenix is that bit better. At Batalla Final Angel said he was forming a stable with fellow masked luchadores Capitao Brasil Jr and El Mitico Jr and whilst it might not necessarily catapult him back into being a bonafide main eventer, it should give Angel a little more focus and direction going into 2012. Whilst the move has further cemented their spot on the FCW roster, they actually don't look any closer to winning the Tag Titles and are pretty much booked as the Devine Right stables designated whipping boys. That's simply because they're not quite ready to be trusted with a title run. ADB is the slightly more seasoned performer of the two due to his work with MPWF and occasional tours of Japan and should they split up, he looks the more likely to succeed as a singles performer. Peverall is firmly entrenched as a borderline Midcarder/Upper Mid Carder on the FCW roster and even had a second Tag Title reign alongside Mainstream Hernandez earlier in the year, albeit a very brief one. His relationship with Hernandez appears to be breaking down again as FCW's longest running storyline rumbles on. The problem with Peverall is that he may actually be too nice, whilst others will start whingeing about do too many jobs, Brad's just happy to turn up and go along with whatever I say. That being said he's actually at the right spot on the roster, as he is a solid performer but not a great one and perhaps in his heart of hearts he realises that. Since winning the People's title he has a put on a string of decent (C Range) matches, culminating in a pretty darn good title defence against K.C Glenn at Batalla Final. Even with his desire to make a name for himself in Japan with several tours, he should remain a key part of the FCW roster for the forseeable future. We have to work round schedules for almost everyone else, so BBS Japanese excursions, aren't going to upset our plans regardless. He's a pure jobber, as much of a jobber as Joe Benning or Leftie Wilkes but the 'unique' character makes him a little more entertaining. I feel now though that he has 'paid his dues' and could alongside El Mitico see his profile rise in FCW in the year ahead. Somehow though I managed to keep him pretty much away from the Undisputed Title scene during 2011, as I let more talented performers run with the ball, even with the enforced loss of J.D Morgan due to senor Lopez's jealousy, over the fact Morgan had stolen some his spotlight. Thing is with the spotlight now shared around, he can hardly start having a hissy fit about four or five other guys getting a better push than him. Criticism's aside he's actually a decent big man worker, who can be carried to good matches by capable opponents and in all honesty does deserve his spot in the upper echelons of the card, he just doesn't deserve to be the focus of the promotion any more. As the leader of FCW's current top heel stable Devine Right, he should remain fixture amongst FCW's main event for 2012, unless one of the big boys come calling, which given his talent both in the ring and on the mic wouldn't surprise me. The fact that he couldn't quite get the job done, led to Lisa Bowen turning on him and thus leading to Daniels turning face for the first time in his FCW career. Always one of our best in ring talents, Daniels also appeared to finally 'grow up' in the locker room as well, as he managed to stay away from the immature pranks that previously plagued his tenure with us. Hopefully he truly has put those days behind him and realises that if he stays out of trouble he will continue to be part of the main event scene in FCW. His personal feud with Darryl Devine, who enticed Daniels former manager Lisa Bowen to join him in Devine Right looks to be one of FCW's hottest feuds going into the new year. The main reason for the titles being back on the team now known as X-UNITY was because of the mid-card title promise clause in their contracts, otherwise the titles would have stayed round the waists of Animal Magic heading into the new year. A solid enough talent, Allen perhaps feels he should be a bigger deal in FCW, due to the fact that he was in TCW for a number of years (even if he did never rise above the mid-card and the lower mid card at that). His long term future in the promotion will depend on his demands when his contract comes up March. If his demands are too much, don't be surprised to see the Tag Titles once again change hands and Allen's tenure in FCW brought to an end.

The only thing that might hold him back is his less than stellar microphone skills due to the hinderance of his thick southern accent. I hope we can hold onto Glenn long enough to see him really make an impact in FCW, but I wouldn't be surprised if the big boys from North America or Japan (where he has already begun to make a name for himself) came calling. There were times it looked like he might re-unite with Primus, but then I thought why break up the team in the first place, only to reunite them. Well that could have worked if Power was more willing to put either of them over in the post W.O.V break up but that was never going to happen. At the end of the day I wanted to evolve W.O.V, as I felt it had run it's course in it's current incarnation but on hindsight I could have evolved the faction a little better. The good thing this time is that R!ot has actually been alot more reasonable with his demands this time round, and has not only accepted a pay cut in his new correct but has also not asked for anothe title run. Hopefully Harry Allen will do the same, when his contract comes up. The heel turn towards the end of the year for the newly re-christened X-UNITY does freshen things up a little for one of the most established Tag Teams on the FCW roster, though as I said before their long term future together depends on the contract demands of Harry Allen. With that angle beginning to fade into the distance, Primus will be looking to get back on track in 2011, and make a good run of things as a babyface powerhouse. Spanish Superly/ Bobby Thomas/ Nate Johnson Departed: August 2011 FCW Records: SS: 1-0-1/ BT: 0-0-2/ NT: 0-0-2 This years Rey De Reyes guest performers. Spanish Superfly made the finals match, whilst The Specialists talked themselves up but were ultimately unsuccesful in challenng for the Tag Team Championship and earning a spot in the Rey De Reyes Finals. JD Morgan Departed: August 2011 FCW Record: 4-0-4 Alot has already been said about JD Morgan's departure from FCW, so I won't go on about it in detail but he remains a major disappointment and though the likes of Negra, Devine and Daniels have stepped up to fill the void, our main event would be much stronger in Morgan was still around. His title defence against Phoenix Negra back in March at the Tiemp de Decision show probably still remains as the best match in FCW history. Island Boy Apollo Departed: December 2011 FCW Record: 0-0-5 The main reason for his departure was the fact that for his jobber status, he asked for a little bit too much money, he also showed little sign of improving as a performer. He may be a local 'talent' but fact was he didn't really bring anything much to the table

Things may be a little slow for this diary for the next week or so..... That's because on Wednesday night, I slipped on the stairs at home and landed on my back. Whilst I didn't end up crippling myself, I am currently in alot of discomfort, so I find sitting at the computer for long period's of time uncomfortable at the moment. I'm hoping that some of the swelling/pain starts to ease down in the next few days and that I can at least get the roster review completed.

Ow. Take care of yourself, TK - and maybe get some new carpet for the stairs. Can't help but think that landing like that has got to hurt worse than most, simply because of the potential for some unnatural bending in you spine. On the plus side, if you ever wanted to perfect a Mick Foley impersonation, now's the time.

Back injuries are the worst - you basically can't do anything without pain. Take the time to rest up, good sir. We readers will be here waiting for you.

Is this a curse of somekind? Infinitywpi has floods in his hometown and is now in the middle of evacuating his belongings etc, and now Tigerkinney injured his back.. .. Is Bigpapa42 going for a weird cooking accident in the kitchen with a llama? Will NoNeck be suffering from Split Personality? Will James Casey get Frozen Frown? Or am I the one who's going to sustain the distended anus?

Thanks for the messages of concern. The injury thankfully wasn't as bad as it could have been, but obviously being a back injury I do feel discomfort. I'm actually lucky that I'm not totally skinny and at least had a bit of extra padding to absorb the impact. The paramedics actually came to check me out at the time of the accident and found that I hadn't done any damage to my back which would have be of major concern. So in that sense I'm lucky, still doesn't make it a major pain in the er...back though. It has actually eased up a little today, still not great and I can forsee me having some form of back pain for the next few weeks, months even but i'm just going to have to learn to live with it. Painkillers and heat-pads are helping to relieve the pain and actually moving around a little helps too...worse thing you can do with back injuries is stay in one spot, otherwise the muscles seize up. Can't really blame the carpet for the injury, it was the crappy slip on sandals I was wearing, slipped off my foot caused me to lose my footing, went up in the air and landed on my back (if only I learned how to take a bump like Mick Foley !) Ironically I was going to be away from here from today for a few days, because I was going to attend my friends stag weekend, so not only am I bummed out about getting back injury, I'm also pretty peeved about forcing to sit that out too.

Back injuries can be a real pain. Get well soon man.
