Lesser lights in the CVerse you still like

Recommended Posts

As it would seem is starting to making itself known in the thread devoted to him, one of my big soft spots is for Charlie Thatcher. Sure he kinda stinks by upper level promotion standards. But there's just something in the big lug that makes me not care so much. So who would be some of the guys you guys like more than maybe you should?

Since TEW 2005, one of my favorite wrestlers has been Frankie Dee, before the White Angel gimmick & appearance. He doesn't necessarily have the star power or charisma to really ever be in the upper echelon of greats (unless you get a game where he's blessed with a great destiny stat), but still, he has been and always shall be one of my favorite "lesser lights" in the C-Verse.

Tom Angelus has always been a favorite of mine. I also heavily mark out for The Idaho Punisher whenever I can. In 07 he actually developed some rather spectacular performance skills over the course of about a year and a half in USPW. Only thing that stopped him was 08 coming out. Still, he was at the point where he could actually put on good matches (hell, got a few B-s out of him against comparable opponents.) While using USPW I absolutely fell in love with T-Rex, and prooved in the process that indeed all you need to succeed in USPW is an awesome look and a winning streak (T-Rex with A overness across the USA is indeed something awesome). In fact, I made those three in the last SvR game. And honestly, they look spot on. Recently, Mammoth and Blackjack Robbins have been gaining my attention. In my Canadian Comedy fed I have both Mammoth and T-Rex, and plan to feud them over the world title someday (thankfully the 46 year old Mammoth isn't even on the Time Decline list!), and title the feud "Prehistoric Pain". I imagine the blow off match will go down in history as one of the most painful things human eyes have ever paid money to see.

Antonio and Ricky Douglas. Two all-round workers, Ricky slightly towards technical asepct but still two unknown workers, who in my TEW07 game developed over the years and became really good wrestlers, all skills ranging from C+ to B :)

Comradebot, do you have a dairy or something? I think the world is ready.

Roderick Remus is one guy I've always had a bit of a soft spot for. He's never turned into much of a wrestler, and he's too good to fit in with the likes of Dusty Bin and Mad Dog Mortimer. Obviously, Jim Force is one guy to mention-I've set his potential to excellent in my database already.

"Free Form" Jeremy Jazz. I love this guy and he's really going places. What he really needs is a new render but he's young and he's got time to grow. I love hiring him in CZCW or 4C games although I'm sure he'd do well in MAW. Stretch the Chicken Boy is another guy I like for some one so young a doofy he's got a lot of talent.
Primus Allen is my man. Decent skills right out of the gate, and come on, "The Rookie Monster" is like the greatest nickname in the history of everything.
But does that really qualify him as a lesser light? He seems like someone who's pretty easy to make use of. My idea of a lesser light would be someone who could be easily described as "a lump of nothing" a la a Charlie Thatcher or Peter Valentine. Been some good names mentioned here but does Primus really fit?

When I think lesser light I think guys who have very little talent or who lack tat certain something (low star quality) and who have never become more than an "independent name" if that. As state Thatcher and Valentine although talentless are well known and Allen well his Star Quality screams more than lesser light. Ron Greenhorn a totally bland worker almost virtually unknown but he looks like he can be built into a strong technical worker.

Murderous Mikey; I always find myself hiring him and pushing him as Mikey the Fixer Primal Rage; another worker I always hire, usually have him be a midcard mainstay or team him up with someone else and get a good tag team run out of him. In 07 my favorite to tag him with was Danny Patterson; in 08 it's even moreso convienient for that team with Patterson's alt personality :D ;) Lately I've taken to trying to push Happy Elwood
ive always been a fan of Dog Fyte, glad to see him getting over in canada. Also a big fan of Fearless Blue, and Ben Williams, jobber to the stars
Fearless Blue is great and I find him easy to turn into a tag team star with Daredevil Aero. You job them a few years for training but they both almost always seem to grow in skill quickly in every game I try with them.

Was just the closest thing I could come up with at the time. Thinking back I probably should have used that "lump of nothing" phrase I gave Nick in responding to him.

Although talentless is relative can't wrestle but a killer on the mic, maybe you lack both in ring and mic skills but you have a look the fans love (or love to hate) so talentless is definitely subjective. Thatcher, however, lacks in ring skills, mic skills and looks so he is truly a talentless lump of garbage (who I usually keep around as well). Land Mass is another aging talentless lump of festering crap I usually keep around NYCW for some reason.

I like the Demons of Rage alot. I used to play as Demon Spite all the time on Wrestling Spirit. I also like Barry Kingman, Marc Speed, Steve DeColt, Wasichi Inao, Velocidad and I also like just about all the guys in The Quest.
