ggazoo
After playing around for a bit, I have a few questions. 1) When writing a storyline from within your promotion, is there a way to delete it? Or, should I avoid writing storylines from within the promotion, and write them from the database? Doing it that way seems to have more flexibility. 2) When you have a working agreement with another promotion, how do you use their talent? Do you have to set up a talent trade? Regardless, how do you do a talent trade? 3) I notice that wrestlers have 2 picture slots. How do I access them both? 4) I tried to start a new promotion, but my level wasn't high enough. Can I start a new promotion when starting a new game? 5) How do I change the prestige of title belts? 6) If I start a new game, and then go back to the database and edit a wrestler, will it take effect in the game I'm currently playing? And if I can, would it screw up the game if I change someone's age?
CQI13
2) Talent Trade: go to the promotions screen, and select the promotion you have a working agreement with. Click on the "Business" tab and select "TALENT TRADE". You can then select who you want and who you are willing to give up, and the number of dates (up to 3). They won't necessarily accept whatever you offer, and you may have to pay extra for that person. 4) You can start one at the beginning of the game, but not under Straight Edge settings. Under straight edge, you cannot start as the owner of a federation. 5)Under titles, edit, and select level. I think there are pre-determined levels that it will go to. For example, using TNA, when I created their world title as Main Event, prestige was B. I am assuming that having feuds/matches for the belt would raise the prestige on its own, but I assume you were asking about how to manually set it. 6)Database changes do not affect your current game, only new games you start with the database, as far as I know. Remianen
1) Game Options -> Delete Data 3) From your roster screen, click the worker then click on the outline of a head (the first icon to the right of the picture). Then you click on the picture in the window and it will allow you to design a new persona for that worker (including the picture). For example, I have Katherine Goodlooks on my roster but she uses her real name (Michelle Cox) as a departure from her more well known comedy persona (one-half of Good Lookin' Bunny). She has a unique moveset for the persona (also accessed from the same window mentioned above) as well as a unique bio. Another way to do it is Game Options -> Contracts. Go to the worker in question and change their picture there. It will only apply to the promotion that contract corresponds to though. 4) Yes. Create the promotion in the database and when given the option to choose a promotion, choose your created promotion. 5) It's a booking thing. You can raise the prestige of titles (though only main event level titles can exceed like 70%) just as you can tank the prestige of titles. Title prestige is how well regarded the title is, within the confines of your promotion's fans. Put your main event title on a rubbish Opener and it'll bottom out (I believe the minimum for main event titles is like 70 or something), but in the process of doing so, it will tend to give that worker enough shine to perhaps rise up to midcarder. But then you'd have to rebuild that title's prestige, which can take quite some time. 6) No. If you want to edit a wrestler in a save game, you must do it with the ingame editor. Making changes at the database level will do nothing to affect what's happening in your save game.
mp84
After playing around for a bit, I have a few questions. 1) When writing a storyline from within your promotion, is there a way to delete it? Doing it that way seems to have more flexibility.
Well, the good news, is there is a way to delete storylines within the promotions. Just go to the game options screen, then from there, go to delete data.. You'll see Storylines and Angles, and from there you can delete your storylines. However, the bad news, is eventhough you can delete the storylines, they can't be edited, which maybe one day that will be implemented, cause While its nice to do the storylines outside the main game, I prefer to use the ingame storyline editor, as I run several games with the same database, and I'd rather not clog the storylines of the database because alot of my storylines are actually for that specific promotion only. Posted it in the suggestions thread, so who knows.. MP
D-Lyrium
1) When writing a storyline from within your promotion, is there a way to delete it? Or, should I avoid writing storylines from within the promotion, and write them from the database? Doing it that way seems to have more flexibility.
The only difference between writing a storyline from within a game, and writing one from the database, is than a storyline written within a game can't be exported and used in other games (yet). In all other respects, they're the same. They can be deleted from Options > Delete Data.
2) When you have a working agreement with another promotion, how do you use their talent? Do you have to set up a talent trade? Regardless, how do you do a talent trade?
Go to the Other Promotions section, open the profile of the promotion you have an agreement with, click Business, and then Talent Trade. On this screen you'll be able to trade talent (as the name suggests ¬_¬), but be aware that you can only trade in-ring talent (active wrestlers), and you can't trade owners, head bookers, yourself or title holders.
3) I notice that wrestlers have 2 picture slots. How do I access them both?
Each worker has a default 'alter ego'. The one that's displayed in the Other Workers screen; either their real name, or their most popular character. The picture for the default alter ego can only be changed via the editor (either in-game or pre-game). Somewhat confusingly, they also have a seperate 'human promotion ' alter-ego, which isn't a 'real' alter ego because it's only in effect while he's in your company. If you change their picture or name while employing them (via the Character screen mentioned below), this will become their alter-ego while you employ them, but the name and picture in their profile (and Other Workers section) will stay as their default. Some workers also have other Alter-Egos, which can be flicked through using the Character button (the silhouette of the head and shoulders) on the Roster screen. For example, Hell Monkey. In the Other Worker's list, he'll show up as Hell Monkey, with the picture of him in his monkey mask. If you hire him, you can change his name and picture, but he'll still be called 'Hell Monkey' in the other workers list and on his profile, and will still have his monkey-mask picture. The only place he'll use his new name and picture is on your shows and your roster. Additionally, if you go to Roster, select him, and click the Characters icon, then the Alter Egos button, you can flip through the variety of other alter-egos Hell Monkey has, and you can select one with the button on that screen, which he'll then use in your promotion. There's more on alter egos in the help files.
4) I tried to start a new promotion, but my level wasn't high enough. Can I start a new promotion when starting a new game?
Each user character has a Reputation level, from 'Lowest' to 'Highest'. To form your own promotion you must be at 'High' or 'Highest'. By default, only The Grand Avatar and Jack Avatar have enough reputation to start their own promotion, but starting reputation can be edited in the pre-game editor just like any other stat (although a stat only user characters have). In the game, reputation goes up by booking good shows and rising in size, that sort of thing.
5) How do I change the prestige of title belts?
They'll start at a set level depending on the level they're at. A Main Event title will always start at B prestige, for example. You raise the prestige by having good champions who're popular, put on good matches, and most importantly have good momentum. Prestige is editable in the in-game editor though, if you're that way inclined :p
6) If I start a new game, and then go back to the database and edit a wrestler, will it take effect in the game I'm currently playing? And if I can, would it screw up the game if I change someone's age?
Once you start a new game, the database is copied and converted into a save-game database (which has subtle and not-so-subtle differences from a pre-game database). So changes made to the database won't affect games already in progress, as it's a totally different file. The only way to edit a game in progress is with the in-game editor, under Options. Edit: Bugger, how can THREE people beat me to a reply? :| Well, one was Remi, so.. two people ¬_¬ Edit2: Oh... it took me 17 minutes to write the reply. That's probably why :( Damn distractions... ggazoo
Thanks everyone! A big help. I'm using the 1991 mod, and I was trying to book Jerry Lawler for a few shows, but he's the head booker of Memphis. :(
