Gnrfan
ok, i know there has been a lot of talk about this but i thought this really took the piss. I advanced booked 5 Matches: Cornell vs RDJ Law vs Keith Hawkins vs Baine Bach vs Jack Avatar (my user) New Wave vs Machines Ok 2 matches got an A (cornells & Bach) and Hawkins match a got B+ with the other 2 getting B i also had Bryant vs Minnesota and that got a B and my last two matches got a B- My overall card got a B+ so i thought at last after 7 tries i'll keep them above cult. But sure enough SWF beats me in the ratings and i fall to cult. Aside from cheating through the editor i don't think i can keep them above. I was just wondering if anyone has kept them above yet after the first show. I am still playing the Demo, incase that matters
LFC_chris
I think it comes down to running shows in the areas where you are closest to dropping in importance. I think that was the conclusion drawn. I've not played as TCW yet though.
HHUK
I used to pick the weakest areas first but in my current game I just went down the list, I still went International with enough buffer for me to run a few UK and Canada shows. My lowest rated show is C+, my highest is B+. Managed to get a few A rated matches so far, all had Tommy Cornell involved. Best Matches Tommy Cornell VS Ricky Dale Johnson (A) Tommy Cornell VS Dan Stone Jr (A) Sam Keith VS Dan Stone Jr (B+) Tommy Cornell VS Jeremy Stone (B+) Tommy Cornell & Wolf Hawkins VS The Stone Brothers (B+) I'm so glad I managed to get the Stone Brothers on loan from NOTPW on loan, I believe I had to swap Sam Keith and Tyson Baine. Their skills perfectly compliment TCW's main eventers. Now all I need is an A* match. Maybe try swap in a few talented wrestlers? Helps having a manager to cover up all of your weak wrestlers flaws. Phil Vibert is my Authority Figure but I set him to manage any wrestlers that I trade in. Helps as some are talented but have the charisma of a doorstop. I'm running a DaVE storyline but not your conventional type, it's just a few wrestlers who believe in the spirit of DaVE and would like to carry the style on, they're managed by Nemesis and are mostly highflyers or hardcore brawlers. Nemesis really helps the young ones. Not sure what it is, have you tried raising your production values? I always pick upgrade the show music and the merchandise slightly. I also always ditch my PPV provider and get the largest USA one that will accept me, a big Canada one and a Medium Mexico one. All the others are mostly small / very small. Just got my second A show on a very big TV station. Not sure if I'm gonna keep it, it's too much to put on two top shows a week.

On top of that, a B+ show is a MINIMUM of 83.1, when TCW's pop is 79 in most areas. I don't expect to gain pop from that, but I also don't expect to LOSE pop from it. It seems very counterintuitive to drop to cult when you put on a show that is better than your pop in 10 of 11 areas of your primary country. maskedpropaganda
Oh its possible. I have done it. Went 6 months or so without falling. First thing I found very helpful was somewhere else on these boards it was discussed and someone pointed out the three regions that TCW was the weakest in like barely Cult level. One was the South East I THINK another was the Mid-Atlantic I forget the last, but run shows there first so even a semi mediocre for TCW standard card will not hurt ya much. Also I hope ya know to use Upper Carders and Main Eventers pretty much religiously. Ya can throw someone with a less push in dark matches or an opener, but the card needs RDJ, Tommy, Wolf, Peak, Keith, Rahn, Baine etc. over and over and over. Throw the mic at Tornado even when he is injured as well as throwing the mic at the likes of Tommy and RDJ. I always had some sort of Syndicate together promo in the middle as well as a Tommy victory celebration OR SOMETHING after that. It is sorta like if ya run Australia I had the mic to Swoop like 2-3 times a card! It is just booking smart and it is very possible.
sabataged
I've made it over a year with TCW without ever falling. Just sort of like maskedpropaganda said you need to keep the angle time to tommy and the other main eventers and just try and find good combinations. I usually put Over workers with great undercard less over people and get good match ratings. Just make sure your last 5 segments are like B's or above and you will end with a B or B+ like everytime. alanreao
You may want to reduce the time of your TV show, a lot of top guys have low stamina, so filling 2 hours can be tough.
sabataged
Just reduce your match lengths. When your TCW and SWF, have all those written contracts you can work 15 matches in a 2 hour show if you want. I ran 6, 8, 13 minute matches in my TCW game on TV.
shipshirt
Yeah it's tough...I'm in July and they dropped to Cult around April. They are still maintaining though so when the cooling off period ends I should be able to regain national status. I just find that a TON of my top guys just have awful chemistry with each other. One question about the show rating...is the final rating you see the rating BEFORE the "Importance" percentage is factored in or does that represent the rating AFTER the percentage is factored in? A show impacts popularity, then the regional importance is factored in. I make a habit of checking raw popularity after every show I run by going to the Options screen -- that way I can see what the impact of a show is. That's why it's puzzling how a B+ show can have a net negative effect on TCW's popularity in the US. This specifically happened to me. I ran a B+ show (that's a minimum rating of 83.1) and my popularity STILL dropped by 0.1 across the board in the US. That just doesn't make sense. I know you typically have to have a show rating more than a single grade better than your popularity to improve your pop in that region, but if you OUTSCORE your current pop, in no way should that mean you LOSE popularity. I know there were complaints that 07 was "too easy". I'm coming to the conclusion that 08 overcompensated, and it is creating a less fun experience overall. When I book as good a first show as can be expected for TCW and still "fail", that's VERY disheartening, and I'm not a novice player.
HHUK
One thing I remember doing straight away is shortening the match times, shortening my shows and allowing 80% for matches so I'd have a decent chunk for angles. Thinking about it, I would probably achieve better ratings with 70% angles.
TakerNGN74
I've had the same problem with SWF where after my 2nd pay per view I fall to cult so I don't know what to tell ya.
