[Coming Soon] C2

C2 A mod by shamelessposer Coming Soon As it happens, the majority of the modplaying audience for TEW will not play a database unless it includes a wifebeating alcoholic redneck and/or a whiny primadonna who craps in coworkers' handbags. This mod is not for the majority. Bitter? Oh yeah. But all two of you who played some of my mods from last year might be happy to hear what's next. What is C2? It's a world where things may have happened a little differently since we left the comfort zone of January 2007. A year is an eternity in the world of wrestling, and any number of little things could alter the fates of entire promotions. Could any number of positive events have saved DAVE? Would Sam Keith retire with SWF if given the chance? Is C2 "better" than the Cornellverse? Not necessarily. But it is different. And it will be available for anyone who wants a different kind of change than the one provided by the default database.
Well, Revenge of the Nerd is obviously J.K. Stallings coming back, either taking over TCW or starting up a NEW promotion. My bet is buying out TCW and renaming it BACK to HGC
You are about one-third right.
North meets South must mean either a working relationship or war/hostility between North of the Boarder and South of the Boarder Wrestling
Correct.
Anger Management - Jessie Gilmore finally hooks up with Angry on-screen
You are correct.
North meets South, pleasantries exchanged - NOTBPW and SOTBPW set up a working agreement
Also correct.
Revenge of the Nerd - As noted above, Stallings is back - possibly as the moneyman for DaVE or similar
Correct. You'll all be getting PMs in the near future with instructions on your FABULOUS PRIZES.
I'm hyped about this anyway - which other mods have you done, and how did I miss them if they were CV-based?
I'd previously done the 2007 mods Street Fighter vs. Cornellverse (over a hundred Capcom characters added to the Cornellverse) and Imperfect Present (an alternate 2007 in which Richard Eisen, Eric Eisen, Phil Vibert and Tommy Cornell had died in a plane crash). I was well on my way toward releasing a 2008 data set for TEW 2007 when Ryland announced that TEW 2008 would be coming out and I stopped my work on it.

Southern Championship Class Wrestling Owner: Shane Sneer Booker: Nemesis Size: Regional Starting Money: $250,000 In the summer of 2007 Shane Sneer finally gathered the money needed to live his dream and restart Southern Championship Class Wrestling. While a fair booker himself, fortune favored Sneer and he was miraculously able to sign the legendary Nemesis after Nemesis' very public falling out with Phil Vibert. It was Nemesis who insisted on adding a lucha libre influence to the promotion, as it was his belief that SCCW would be able to capture the Hispanic audience and younger fans in general by ensuring that the promotion would have a more high flying and athletic product than USPW. SCCW's first show in August of 2007 received rave reviews and a capacity crowd, but war with USPW is at this point an inevitability. Can the reborn Southern Championship Class Wrestling weather the storm and carve out a niche among Southern fans, or will the glossier product provided by USPW win out? Hardcore Champion? (Article provided courtesy of WrestleCircle.com) Just how does a man go from future world champion to being out on the unemployment line? When asked, Nicky Champion replied "Let's just say that there are certain things that Sam doesn't like walking in on Alicia doing to his protege on the living room couch." Even with the stitches still fresh on his forehead, Champion has trouble not laughing. "I mean, I can hardly blame the guy. I'm sure I'll never work south of the Mason-Dixon line again, but I don't blame him." In an instant Nicky Champion was out of a job. A few days later, USPW's planned women's division was scrapped when Alicia Strong decided not to work for her father's promotion as a form of protest. "Through all of this, Alicia and I are still together," said Nick. "I'd get beaten up by her dad a dozen times if that's what it took for this relationship to work." Once Champion was on the market the offers started pouring in. While some are surprised to see the blue chipper's choice of promotion, he claims it's just a natural path for his career to take. "Phil [Vibert] called me up a couple of days ago. With DAVE going through some hard times, he said it was time to reorganize the roster and bring in some fresh blood. I've worked for the biggest family friendly company in the world, so why not try and go hardcore? I won't lie. I'd like to get hired on by SWF or TCW some day, but until that happens I'll try and get as much experience as I can and as many different experiences as I can." Nicky Champion could be debuting in DAVE as early as the beginning of June 2007.

I figure that to prove the mod isn't dead, I'll continue prostituting myself while waiting for the updated data to be released. Who are the Starlets? What started as a purely political move has led to some of the most impressive matches SWF has seen in years. When Sean McFly walked out on NOTBPW in the Spring of 2007, Richard Eisen announced the creation of an "SWF Women's division" and offered to make McFly's sister Tamara a member of the roster if he would also sign a contract. In truth Tamara was the first woman signed to the new division, and Eisen scrambled to find other participants. By the end of 2007 the SWF Starlet Division, as it was now called, totaled eight members from four different countries. 5SSW, AAA and the new CWWF are feeling the pressure of internationally broadcasted women's wrestling, and have been forced to step up their games as well. Agent 69: "Agent 69" Zoe Ammis has the utterly bizarre gimmick of being a Soviet spy who doesn't realize that the Cold War is over and so believes that her mission to destroy America's largest wrestling company must still be completed. The Agent has come close to winning the SWF Starlet title on several occasions but has always come up short. Alicia Strong: Alicia Strong was initially signed by the Eisen family for the sole purpose of spiting her father Sam, but she has since arguably become the face of the division. She is the first woman to win Pro Wrestling Hits magazine's Rookie of the Year award. Joanne Rodriguez: J-Ro finally stepped up to the big leagues in 2007 as part of Richard Eisen's attempt to attract more Hispanic viewers. Original plans for Rodriguez to carry the division were put on the back burner with the debut of Alicia Strong, but J-Ro has remained a professional throughout her tenure and consoled herself with the knowledge that she is the first woman to hold the SWF Starlets title. Paige Croft: Croft was arguably not a part of the Starlets division for the first few months of her SWF tenure, mostly fighting men. Paige's debut match was against her trainer Sam Keith, and her surprise pin over the multiple time World Heavyweight champion seemed to suggest big things were in store for her. Unfortunately, Sam Keith stepped down from the head booker position shortly afterward and Croft's push has stalled since his departure. Raven Nightfall: Making her debut on Halloween night as a member of The Cult of The Grey Dragon, Nightfall has been at the center of several major storylines in her short time with the company and much like her stablemates has already seen much success. As of Monday Week 1 2008, Nightfall is the reigning SWF Starlets champion and often seen alongside her boyfriend Black Eagle. Steph Blake: Coming from AAA, Blake hasn't seen much success despite being the division's third signing. Rumor has it that her in-ring style, which relies almost exclusively on spiking opponents on their heads, is unpopular among management. Tamara McFly: The reason for the roster's existence, ironically enough Tamara has yet to hold any gold. While remaining a competitive member of the title scene and giving it her all in every match, it seems that a lack of marketability could prevent McFly from being the major star she was intended to be. Yuma Maruya: Maruya was another political signing by the promotion, coming in at the tail end of the year. Eric Eisen became a big fan of PGHW star Kozue Kawashima and was intent on signing him, going as far as to convince his father to sign Kawashima's girlfriend Yuma to to help negotiations. Talks with Kawashima fell through but Richard Eisen was so impressed by Yuma Maruya's performance in dark matches and overall presence that she has remained a member of the SWF roster. Interesting side note: If SWF hadn't attempted to sign Kawashima, TCW would never have gone ahead with their decision to hire Koshiro Ino.

DAVE Bloodied But Not Beaten Style: Hardcore Size: Regional Owner: Phil Vibert Head Booker: Mitch Naess DAVE is a broken promotion. In March of 2007 the company lost its television coverage. The pay-per-view deal fell through only three weeks later. By April, Vibert was panicking. Nearly all of DAVE's exclusive talent were offered a chance to walk away from their contracts and, in a strange sort of loyalty, left the company to avoid bankrupting it. Nemesis left over the summer after Vibert slapped him during an argument over merchandising. With no way of reaching fans on a national level the company went into a tailspin and DAVE lost much of the ground it had made since the turn of the century. Something was needed to help the company turn around; something drastic. And then one of wrestling's few living legends went and got himself fired. DAVE's Power Players Sam Keith: After being forced to take the blame for SWF's unsuccessful "Election" storyline, Sam Keith left the company and looked for the proper place to end his career. While TCW seemed the safe choice, Keith decided that his presence in DAVE might be enough to turn the company's fortunes. Keith has put on some fantastic matches in his time with DAVE, but some wonder if his huge contract might be what sinks the company once and for all. Leader of the infamous Super Wrestling Force stable, and captured the DAVE Unified title in the last show of 2007. Chris Caulfield: More than anyone else in DAVE today, Chris Caulfield exemplifies hardcore wrestling. Caulfield has bled buckets for the Tri-State fans, and they love him for it. In 2007 he earned another Unified title run, but it lasted only three months. Shawn Gonzalez: 2007 saw Gonzalez's return to the spotlight when he turned his back on his students, The Latino Kings, and allied himself with manager Carl Batch. He won the Unified title from Chris Caulfield in the summer of 2007, but dropped it to Sam Keith in a three-way match on the last show of the year. Steve Flash: Supposedly "New York's best kept secret," Steve Flash suffered a leg injury only a few shows after signing with DAVE and has been on the injured list ever since. Set to return in a few short months, with fans eagerly anticipating the dream matches that could no doubt take place between Steve Flash and Sam Keith. Larry Wood: "The Man Eater" Larry Wood returned to the US in 2007, and his first stop was DAVE. He quickly rose up the card as a ruthless psychopath in much the same mold as (an older, hairier) Eddie Peak and is now seen as a stable presence in the midcard. Earned his nickname during a botched piledriver spot in which he accidentally bit into Steve Flash's leg and caused severe ligament damage. Tank Bradley: Much to the horror and dismay of fans of good wrestling everywhere, Tank Bradley tasted singles gold in 2007. He's the DAVE Brass Knuckles champion going into 2008, in large part because Mitch Naess is a much better announcer than he is a booker. Nicky Champion: Sam Strong's former protege fled the southeast after a scandal broke involving Strong's daughter Alicia, and he found DAVE waiting with open arms. While Nicky Champion had previously been called "the next Sam Strong" it appears that he could in actuality be "the next Chris Caulfield," right down to the audience's initial disdain for Champion until he had proved himself in several bloody matches. Super Wrestling Force: This stable consists of Sam Keith, "The Cannonball Kid" Sam Pratt, Vin Tanner, and Jim Force. Three of the four play up their SWF backgrounds for maximum heel heat, while Tanner plays the part of the broken-down veteran who has turned his back on hardcore wrestling. The four most despised men in DAVE. Also: The Latino Kings (now with 100% more Jennifer Heat), Travis Century, The Black Label Brotherhood, and Johnny Martin! (Yes, I'm stealing this format from Tommy. What are you gonna do about it, you Australian modder-person? You're all the way in the southern hemisphere and I'm in the UK's original dumping ground!)
