bobinc Posted July 30, 2008 Share Posted July 30, 2008 They are ok, you just need to work out the Logos in the background as they are distorted, if you are not going to have the workers heads touch the top then there should be no problem shrinking the logo and shifting it up to look "cleaner". ECW is good but maybe slightly smaller to match the size of the others after they are resized, you know make them all about the same to keep it uniform. ;) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

First time I've used it too so it took me awhile to find where everything is.. and to find the GIMP Cutting tutorial from Bobinc but I found them so I started doing cuts... I took your background and your CM Punk pic and had a go at this one. I took creative license when it came to some of his hair as 9 out of 10 times cuts look better if you can nip those stupid 2-3-4 hair strands hanging out in no mans land but still look natural. I also threw on a boarder to the whole thing as well. I am also finding it somewhat un-necessary as the pics are part of a bio that lists the persons name. I would say adding text can almost double cut time to about 2-3 minutes a cut not to mention double the number of layers unless you keep the text in the same layer as the worker which would mean I would have a PSD file with about 9000 layers now. Last night though I was in a hurry cuz one of my buddies from wrestling kept wanting to talk to me on AIM and get me to sign up for a fantasy football thing. So sadly my cutting took a bad turn when I was just trying to get it done so I could focus on what he was telling me. As for the Nameplates.. I was thinking of only doing it for select people incase someone wanted to use it for a diary. Thanks again for all the criticism. As for the font comment.. I did look under Google for fonts about a week ago So I could make posters for our wrestling fed. And found 1001 Fonts that had alot of free downloads then when I got paid I bought the big download which gives you 7,000 fonts:eek:. So I should be good on fonts. Newest attempts... I just give it it's own text specific layer that sits below the foreground (or in this case you'd have it above everything else) and set the text mode to "centered" so all you gotta do is punch in the name and voila.
