TheHeck
Okay, first time playing the Cornellverse, and have started with NOTBPW. Loving it so far, but I'm a little baffled by Dark Angel's performances so far. He's had two singles matches - one against Steve Flash and one against Charles Avater (one of the default user characters) and both have come in with D+ ratings. Now I'm hitting as high as Bs for other matches, and both Steve and Charles have had far better matches against other people. Considering Dark Angel's fantastic performance stats and decent all round stats, I can't figure out why his matches are stinking the joint up (comparatively) so much. Anyone got any ideas? Ta. :)
Gigas
any chemistry notes? Could just be card placement too.
FINisher
Really bad chemistry? Did the match had any penalties in it? (too long match considering who was involved etc.)
TheHeck
Great ideas, but nope. No notes to explain it, and though I'm far from experienced there's nothing about the card placement that explains it to me. Nothing bringing the crowd down, no super-great match for it to follow and be over-shadowed by. Baffling. So I assume you guys get good performances from him? Gigas
Yeah. Every game is different though.
TheHeck
True, true. Maybe he'll find his form again. Might throw him in there with a Stone, if that doesn't jump-start him again nothing will! Thanks for the help.
FINisher
What's their momentum levels? :)
Hyde Hill
and what is his physical condition? If he has a lot in the yellow it will also effect his performance. Send him to dev if possible to improve physical condition or give him a prolongend rest.
TheHeck
Well his momentum wasn't a problem, so can't be that, I'll check his physical condition though, that could explain it. Thanks again, more useful ideas. :)
Marcel Fromage
Dark Angel is one of those guys that often gets fatigued and is 'injury prone', so he might just be feeling the pace. I had him in my long running ROF game in 2007 though and he didn't produce good matches there despite his skills being the equal of anyone on the roster. Was really disappointing. So you're not the only one to get a bit frustrated with him.
shamelessposer
Dark Angel is past his prime and his body is very much broken down. You know how right after Shawn Michaels' return to the ring there were stories about how he'd eat pain pills like they were M&Ms? That's what Dark Angel does just so he can show up to the arena. TheHeck
Ah ok, that would definitely explain it. His physical screen only shows yellow damage to his torso, but I'm guessing the damage must be on the verge of the next level up. Since NOTBPW is so focussed on performance over popularity I'm guessing that's what's affecting his ratings so negatively. Time to switch him to a mentor role methinks, and maybe use his popularity to put some of my upper midcarders over. Got Sean McFly coming back from injury soon, so won't really need Dark Angel anywhere near the top of the card wher he's going to hurt my show ratings. I love this community, thanks for all the advice guys. After years ignoring the Cornellverse I'm already becoming a fan of certain workers, which seems odd really. Very cool though. Guest The Aussie
Dark Angel is often a severe handicap. He starts off with a default contract with GCG and his resilience blows big time.
Hyde Hill
GCG is in 07 not 08, if you can get 4c to agree to a dev deal then send angel down to on physical training after a while he will be fit enough again. That is what the physical training is for its not physical skills but physical condition.
