rodzillahotrod
ok right now im updating the 1997 "Montreal Screwjob" by carlitocool. but i want to make my own real world data. so what i was thinking is i could do most of the research my self and get permission to use anyone elses data if i have to (like pics or graphic stuff i need). ok so the idea i had is to quick add every character and also for promotions use the original promotion for the promotion settings. now what i want to do for profiles is use http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki links to that wrestler in their profiles. i think using quick add for the wrestlers with maybe minor edits would make the game a lot harder to play and give it long game time to play. i want to try and do most of thing my self only think i have problems with is the title linage and making angel's detailed out so i'll probably just import that from adams game. what do u guys think? tommytomlin
If you use quick add, won't all the stats be completely wrong? I think if you don't want to edit stats, you probably shouldn't make a mod

People will complain if stats are not acurate, right or wrong its going to happen.
rodzillahotrod
oh i know that i was trying to make my mod different. i guess it would be more of a fantasy mod with real wrestlers. i just think if he made all quick wrestlers it would make the game a lot harder and maybe playable for a long game time... if its a bad idea i could just think of something else... The more people modding on here the better as far as i am concerned. I just know how critical the people who play these mods can be. And if you some how end up with Kurt Angle's matt skills rated F- they will give you a bit of stick over it. By all means go ahead and make the mod, but take my advice, build something because you want to play it, that way even if it gets nowhere on the boards atleast you will have created a dataset you enjoy. They are VERY familiar looking, and actually set other settings as well. If you can sit down and take each template in, look at it, and see exactly where it sets them, from the entertainment skills and popularity, to the in ring skills.. And utilize them (From 1 to 10, with 10 being the best their is) in the way they are meant to be used, I don't see you having to do alot of adjustments. I know this goes against the grain of what most have told you, but I don't think they actually looked at the templates in as much detail as I have. I'm blown away by them, to be honest. The hardest part I would think is figuring out which Template would be best used for which wrestler's. Each one carries quite a bit of ground, and even the ones' that are obvious templates of legendary worker's, could be utilized for other's by slight changes in Entertainment or the four other area's that make the biggest difference. AKA Core Skills, Athletic Ability, Ability Level, Entertainment. Each of these make just one template compatible with dozens of worker's. One of my favorites is the European Technician, that could easily represent quite a few of the wrestler's from the early 1900's. Lou Thesz comes to mind, but certainly ton's fit this bill... As well as even up to today. Anyways, I wouldn't scrap this idea. I would definately take a look at each worker's stats everytime you put in their debut/birthdays and other stuff you can't really do while using the quick add, and make minor adjustments. However, I think you might end up with a very fun MOD if you do utilize all the features their to help you. I haven't made a mod, although I did work on the comicbook portion of Panic's mod back in '07, so I would definately weight the other's that have completed full mods, ahead of my advice. I just wanted to make sure that these Templates were not underated. With 11 Base types to work with, many with over 11 templates to choose from, and the easy familiarity you have with most of these templates "The Cowboy Hat: A play-by-play announder who knows how to help tell a story" are easy to figure out who they are modelled after. Using that person as a guide to other familiar announcers with similar traits, you then have the other ability/skill area's to adjust and make them much more different, right there in the templates area. WeeMan
Can someone please list all the templates, and who they represent? I know most of them, 'coz they are pretty self explanatory, like WWE or ECW guys... but some of them I can't figure...

ChrisWest
How I missed Terry Funk is beyond me. I also thought Raven was missing in Classic Philly, but I didn't think the Even Flow template suited him. I thought the Japanese Demon was The Great Muta but I wasn't really sure. Thanks for the help.

BurningHamster
Yeah Rathen, I think you might be right about Tully Blanchard. While the description leaves a bit to be desired he certainly fits the bill and was such a big name leaving him out of the templates would be very unusual. Well played old chap.
