He CLEARLY lost Round Two, Round One was somewhat close but still scored it for Florian. Easy 30-27 scoring from my end, and at the very least 29-28 for KenFlo. ACCBiggz
Round one was a somewhat close round, but I didn't think Huerta had what it took to take it. The whole fight is closer than 30-27, but on a ten point must system it's what I scored it. It's just where the criteria come into play with effective striking, effective grappling, effective aggression, and cage control. While Huerta was coming forward it wasn't like Florian was not being aggressive as he was drawing Huerta in and not brawling with him stupidly and using technique. Not to compare that with Machida, but while some classify Machida as "running away" what he did against Tito was textbook effective aggression without always moving forward as I think fans tend to misinterpret coming forward as effective aggression. Huerta knew he lost that instantly as you could see him become more frustrated and then after the final horn just walking away disappointed by his performance. I'll be interested to see the FightMetric.com report on the stats later this week when they are released.
SadisticBlessings
I'm with ACC on the Huerta - Florian fight; as a matter of fact, throughout most of the fight I was remarking to my friends "Man, for a guy who claims to always finish his fights, Florian seems content to just Machida this guy to an easy decision." I scored it 30-27 for Florian as well. It's just an instance of aggression vs. technique in this case. Huerta came charging forward, sure, but Kenny was landing consistently while Huerta looked wild throughout most of the fight and struggled to connect with a really solid hit. Huerta may have thrown more power punches, but Kenny clearly dealt more damage and also looked more well-rounded on his feet with good leg kicks and some nice knees throughout. Also, Kenny took down Huerta once in each round - in rounds one and two he put him down early and took his back, in round three he scored another clean takedown to end the round. Even if the striking match was even (which it wasn't), that fight is still Kenny's on anyone's scorecards. He was calm, collected, and in control of pretty much the entire fight. Huerta definitely knew he lost when it was over. As for the rest of the card, I'm not a big Heath Herring fan so it was nice to see him get schooled by a guy he's been trash talking for a while now. Oh, and am I the only one who's impressed by the fact that Brock managed to drop both Frank Mir and Heath with a single overhand right? I've got a feeling once he's more well rounded he'll be a scary fighter. Get this guy in there with Mark DellaGrotte - after seeing how refined Kenny's boxing has gotten with him, I've gotta imagine he could turn Brock into an absolute madman. Overall, though, it was a good night. Only outcome I genuinely disliked was Emerson knocking out Manny, but it was pretty fun to watch so I didn't mind. Other than that, I would've maybe liked to have seen a more competitive match, since everything was pretty one-sided, but from time to time a good beatdown is enjoyable. :D

He used technique and smarts to win. I will say he managed to blow a couple nice positions on the ground during the fight, but luckily it never hurt him. [QUOTE]Overall, though, it was a good night. And for those interested, it's all but confirmed that Penn/St. Pierre II for the Welterweight Championship will be December 27th in Las Vegas. The only other thing that may happen is an unannounced show in Montreal which would be GARBAGE.
The Bus
Yes Brock looked like a difficult opponent and he's improving constantly. His power is a threat to any fighter in the world. He's also fast, remarkably fast for his size and the wrestling skills are next to none. His BJJ offence is his biggest weskness and when it gets better he will be a realistic contender. His stand up isn't great, but it isn't weak. So far his mental side shouldn't pose a threat for himself as he seems to have the heart and now also some intelligence. He was better on the mic, than in his wrestling days...
