James Casey
Taken from the Official Tip Thread
POPULARITY OVERSPILL LEVEL Popularity at: 23.0% Overspill increases to: 5.1% Popularity at: 47.0% Overspill increases to: 17.1% Popularity at: 71.0% Overspill increases to: 29.1% Popularity at: 89.0% Overspill increases to: 47.1%
If I'm calculating this correctly, if I get a company up to 71% in a region, the spillover popularity to my linked neighbours would see me rise to 29.1% in those regions. Would this then cause a popularity jump to 5.1% in their spillover regions? And likewise when I get to 89% and my neighbours jump to 47% - will their neighbours jump to 17.1%? I've always had this vague idea that spillover was limited to my home region and its neighbours - but if not, that'd be very useful...

Or maybe not. But it contains almost all the information regarding spillover.

D-Lyrium
Popularity will always spillover to other regions when the various triggers are reached, regardless of what causes them. If you create a blank promotion with no popularity, then on day one edit a random region to 100% and advance a day, all the spillover regions for the now-100% regions will have their spillover. Then if you advance another day, all the spillover regions for all the spillover regions will have their popularity adjusted too, and so on until there's no spillover left. So, in short; yes. ¬_¬
