BloodyKnuckles
I've never really seen any Japanese wrestling companies, but BHOTWG and PGHW both are very interesting to me and I'd like to run either of them, but I'm just not sure how to make it realistic, it just feels weird running things without knowing how they work. Anybody have some tips on how to run a Japanese company?
Ironmike
I find the big 2 (BHOTWG & PGHW) pretty easy to book, no storylines or angles just pure strait laced wrestling for the whole show. The main thing when starting is getting your head around the touring schedule that is used in Japan, but on the very first day you can change it to the normal schedule is you wish (Control Room -> Schedule -> Change Schedule). I find its a good idea to send alot and I mean ALOT of your workers to development for the first 2 months either to improve skill get in shape of train the others it really helps and your paying them anyway so may aswell have them work :p Then in March set up your first tour by adding 2 events for each week also found in the schedule screen and let the beat downs begin! FINisher
I suggest that you start with GCG or WLW.. :) GCG has a good product and talented roster, and they are not too big for starters :)

GCG is the easiest promotion to get into for rookies at the Japanese scene.
