Not sure how well this'll work - but am going to try a dynasty written in the form of updates from a wrestling website along the lines of the Torch. Could be good, could suck. Here goes... [I]December 1st 2005[/I] [COLOR=Blue]Headline[/COLOR]: [B]MAJOR DAVE ANNOUNCEMENT, NEW HEAD BOOKER[/B] Fans, more on this later, but potentially HUGE news from DAVE. A source informs us that Phil Vibert stepped down as head booker just an hour or two ago, and was replaced by a girl previously unknown in wrestling circles. The girl, whose name is Claire Maynard, is in her mid-20's. Apparently Nemesis was looking very pleased with himself when the news was announced... not that we're suggesting anything! [I]3 hours later.[/I] [COLOR=Blue]Headline[/COLOR]: [B]VIBERT'S LAST SHOW [/B] As things stand, looks like DAVE's Lords of the Ring last month has turned out to be the last big show with owner Phil Vibert booking. We figured we'd better remind those people who weren't watching (most of you!) what happened. New Jersey Devils (Tank Bradley and Alex Braun) went over the McWade Brothers (Dean and Dallas) in a ** match. Sadly, things were to go downhill from there, pretty much. Kurt Laramee beat Matt Sparrow to end their three weak feud. Sorry, did I put 'weak'? Can you blame me? This feud's taken Sparrow from being a guy no one had ever seen, to a guy no one has ever cared about. As for Laramee, thank the Lord he can talk, because he sure as hell can't wrestle. This got 1/2* and liked it. In a match between the four face painted guys in DAVE (hey, think that's a bad hook? At least it exists, unlike Vibert's build-up for the damn contest.), the Animalz won by count out over the New Wave. Awful booking, reducing this to 3/4*, with the Animalz looking washed up - a title change here was sorely needed. Eddie Peak's long awaited collision with Henry Lee was perhaps the sole bright spot - with the opening tag match the other that could generously be given that status. Peak cheated his way to victory in a match which got *** 1/2 from us, prevailing over Lee due to interference from his brother Doug. Bryan Holmes defended his Unified title against Tatsukichi in a match which was severely underwhelming. No one bought Tastu as a challenger at this stage in his career, and the 10 minute match never looked like one where Holmes could drop the belt. * 1/2 would be generous for this one, with Holmes winning far too easily. And finally, the main event that had everyone talking about it for all the wrong reasons. Chris Caulfield and Nemesis colliding in a steel cage was given the top spot, ahead of the Unified title match, and the two of them stank the place up for 25 minutes. Bizarre booking (interference from Eric Tyler, the Peak Brothers, and Shaun Gonzalez, all of whom climbed into the cage at some point) didn't help, but the two guys involved need to hold their hands up and take most of the blame for this dud.

[COLOR=Blue]Headline:[/COLOR][B]DAVE - ROSTER ANALYSIS[/B] We thought Miss Maynard might need some advice on who's who in DAVE - so we figured we'd help her, and our readers, out by reminding them about all the currently contracted guys. Read on... [B]Main eventers [/B] Henry Lee - The Icon of Insanity is a bump machine, even if he's not a great worker. In the middle of a decent run at the moment, having beaten Martin, Laramee, and both of the New Wave in recent weeks. Nemesis - The best known of DAVE's guys, Nemesis is a former SWF star respected by all - except former boss Richard Eisen. Despite not wrestling at the last big show, he's in a great run at the moment and more influential than ever - as seen by the appointment of Claire Maynard, who seems to be a friend of his, as head booker. Eric Tyler - The 46 year old 'Traditionalist' is a very good mat wrestler with lots of charisma. A much respected locker room leader, he's recently had a fantastic run of matches to take him back up to the top of the card. Chris Caulfield - Best friends with Phil Vibert, and another locker room leader. The Hardcore American has been involved in several poor storylines recently though, and Vibert may have dropped the ball by not giving him the belt at the show just past. Shawn Gonzalez - After years in a JTTS role, Gonzalez was rewarded recently with a hard push up to the main event. However, booking since he's got there has been erratic to say the least, with him still jobbing a lot - just generally in the last match rather than one of the first few. [B]Upper Midcarders [/B] Eddie Peak - The DAVE Brass Knuckles champion is a massive star in the making. Entertaining and excellent at brawling, Eddie is the better of the two Peak brothers, and is starting to move towards wrestling more singles matches. Unfortunately, he's only on a verbal contract. He's loyal to Vibert - but will that be enough to stop him moving if one of the big feds comes calling? Guide - One half of the New Wave tag team, Guide is a decent all rounder. He's also one of the few DAVE guys under a long term written contract, reportedly with two years or so left to go. Scout - Long time tag partner of Guide, Scout is a very good technical wrestler. Just a shame they didn't put the belts on the Wave a few weeks back when the fans were crying out for it. Johnny Martin - Formerly the main man of DAVE, Martin is nowhere near the competitor he was a few years ago, despite being only 36. A long run of hardcore matches have taken their toll on him, but he's still loved by most of the fans. Big Cat Brandon - Up until six months or so back, brawler James Brandon was looked upon as perhaps the next of DAVE's breakout stars. However, a horrible loss of momentum from the 33 year old and his tag partner, the Wolverine, has got many believing that he's destined to be just an afterthought in wrestling history. The Wolverine - 40 year old partner of Big Cat Brandon in the Animalz, the brawler can hold his own in the ring. As mentioned, though, the team are on a real slide now, and it will take some recovering from. Alex Braun - The 44 year old Ice Man, who older readers may remember as JTTS Ace Freeze in 80's SWF, is a veteran face. For the past few years, he's carried youngster Tank Bradley, his tag partner in the New Jersey Devils. Vin Tanner - The 38 year old V Man is another of DAVE's reliable, but unspectacular, brawlers. Is one of many - see Art Reed, the McWades, Doug Peak, and several others - who need a better character. Bryan Holmes - The DAVE Unified champion is a very good technician. Unfortunately for Claire, he's also committed to PHGW, and the Japanese federation is thought to be his main priority for the near future. Is he REALLY the right man to be holding the belt? Vibert seems to have been considering taking it away from him for a few months now, but has pulled back at the last minute with weird decisions like the DQ loss to Caulfield last month. [B]Midcarders [/B] Kurt Laramee - The King of the Streets is looked down on by most smarks due to his lack of wrestling ability, but if you get past that, he's very entertaining, and sheer gold on the mic. Tank Bradley - The much younger, and less talented, partner of Alex Braun, Bradley is an almost stereotypically average brawler. He's being pushed BIG, though, picking up the win in most of the NJ Devils' recent matches. JD Morgan - The veteran British middleweight is an accomplished technician. He's come to DAVE to gain experience in the US, and so far has mainly been used to put people over. Art Reed - A Canadian technician, Reed is excellent in the ring, but has had virtually no time since signing for DAVE to get his character over. In fact, we're not even sure he HAS a character. On the plus side, he's another with a written contract, so Miss Maynard will have time to work on that. [B]Lower Midcarders[/B] Acid - Formerly the best independent cruiserweight around, the masked man Acid is now on a written contract with Dave, believed to have about a year left to run. Hasn't been used properly so far though, with rumours that the top guys are reluctant to see him given a chance to steal the show. Doug Peak - An okay brawler, Doug is benefitting from the association with brother and tag partner Eddie, the DAVE Brass Knuckles champion. Sammy Bach - Looks scarily like Keanu Reeves. Apart from that, is a decent high flyer who can also get technical. Teams with Teddy Powell in Adrenaline Rush. Teddy Powell - A wholesome babyface, Powell is the other half of the Rush. [B]Openers[/B] Dallas McWade - Identical twin of Dean McWade, the Canadian and his brother have done reasonably well as a pair of big heel brawlers in the fed whose sole purpose is to look impressively big when they're getting squashed. Dean McWade - See above. [B] Enhancement Talent[/B] Tatsukichi - One of DAVE's more intriguing characters, Tatsu is supposedly the descendant of an ancient Mongol king. The 22 year old came over from Japan a few months back, started off working opening matches, and has been looking very impressive despite having a poor win-loss record. Matt Sparrow - Another of DAVE's up and coming youngsters, the Bird Man is an exciting cruiserweight. The feud with Kurt Laramee set him back, if anything, but he's got enough talent to rise past that. [B] The Other Guys[/B] Carl Batch - Charismatic young manager who handles business for the Peaks. Cat Jemson - Star on the rise. Originally got her job as a manager because she's dating Kurt Laramee off screen, but has proved herself to be one of the top valets around. Currently the cheerleader for the New Jersey Devils. Easy Emma - Extremely entertaining seductress, who manages Bryan Holmes. Hell's Bouncer - Impressive youngster who wants to start wrestling more. He currently plays the bodyguard of Kurt Laramee. Mitch Naess - Young announcer. Phil Vibert - Owner, color commentator, and former head booker of DAVE. He'll be handing booking duties over to Claire RM Stones and Ryan Holland - Referees.

With SWF looking for new blood, and TCW and NOTBPW both believed to be expanding slightly, many will have opportunities to further their careers elsewhere. Don't be surprised if the likes of Eddie Peak, Vin Tanner, Shawn Gonzalez, and Johnny Martin wrestle their last match for DAVE soon.

[COLOR=Blue]Headline[/COLOR]: [B]TUESDAY NIGHT WAR[/B] SWF put on an average edition of Supreme TV tonight, headlined by Christian Faith and Steve Frehley beating the Almighty Dollar. Most notable of the earlier matches was a no contest in the North American title match between Joe Sexy and Eric Eisen, which went to a no contest after major interference from about half the roster. More intriguing than the onstage action, though, was the list of backstage guests. Eddie Peak and Johnny Martin were reportedly getting on very well with Mr Eisen. As for TCW's Total Wrestling, we saw a show with a few bizarre decisions - not least Ricky Dale Johnson going over Demon Anger and Genghis Rahn clean in a handicap match. However, we also had a contender for match of the week, as owner Tommy Cornell defeated Ronnie V Pain in a **** 1/2 bout. Ratings saw 1,000,000 or so viewers watch TCW, while 1,500,000 saw SWF. But with TCW putting on matches like that main, they might be getting the upper hand soon. Especially if they're able to add a few new faces to the mix.

[COLOR=Blue]Headline[/COLOR]: [B]DAVE Spoilers - Danger Zone TV[/B] Just got this report in from DAVE's Danger Zone tapings - sounds like an interesting show in some ways. [COLOR=Red] Hey guys, just got back from Claire Maynard's first show in charge of DAVE. Get ready for shocks on Friday night - well, unless you're reading this. First dark match saw Matt Sparrow against a guy called Prince Adam. Sparrow won in about 8 minutes, decent enough match but nothing special. Other pre-show match was a rare wrestling appearance for Hell's Bouncer. He teamed with a guy called Young Leo, presumably on a tryout, against Adrenaline Rush. Rush dominated, getting the win when Powell pinned Leo after a nice flying legdrop. Bouncer looks REALLY out of shape, tiring badly at the halfway mark of a 10 minute match - I like him as Laramee's bodyguard, but he doesn't look like he has it in the ring. As for Leo, less said the better. No chance of him getting a contract after that showing. Carl Batch joined the usual announce team of Vibert and Mitch, and we have the start of the show proper. Some kind of tournament going on, and the first two matches were part of that. Okay, first shock of the night, Art Reed wins a virtual squash over Shawn Gonzalez. Reed takes the submission victory with the Dread Lock in under 5 minutes. ** 1/2 stars, maybe? Post match, Reed does a real number on Shawn. Second tourney match, and another strange result. Acid gets a six minute win over Johnny Martin, hitting the Acid Rain Bomb for the pin. About level with the previous match - looking more and more like the stories of big departures from DAVE could be true. Post match, Martin challenges Acid to a rematch next week. Acid's already left, and we don't have an answer during the show. In our first competitive match of the night, Nemesis takes on Big Cat Brandon and Kurt Laramee in a triple threat. Nemesis ends up rolling BCB assisted by a handful of tights. This is match of the night, at maybe ***. Nemesis REALLY carries the younger guys through it, though. Up next, Chris Caulfield challenges for Eddie Peak's Brass Knuckles title. But first, bikini contest. Batch hosts, Cat Jemson beats Easy Emma, who sulks. Nothing we haven't seen 369262 times before. Hardcore match, and a new Brass Knux champion! Caulfield hits the Danger Drop to finish off Peak in a pretty good match, 2nd best of the night. This seemed to be the logical place to end this - but we couldn't have a show in New Jersey without featuring hometown heroes Alex Braun and Tank Bradley. Braun and Bradley come out, pose for a bit, and challenge anyone in the back for a match. McWade Brothers answer, and pretty much just bump for the NJD's signature spots. After 6 minutes, the Brain Damage finishes things, and Alex Braun makes the cover to get the popular victory. Overall, reasonable show, and the 5,000 in attendance seemed to enjoy it. Still, booking made it look as if Martin and Gonzalez, at least, are leaving - and if a few more follow, there could be major trouble for Miss Maynard already.[/COLOR]

Quick note - I seem to have messed up somehow trying to continue this in the full game. Am about to restart, see new thread to be posted in a minute - lucky I've only done one show! Because of changed momentums, I'm planning on changing the first bit slightly, including the results of Vibert's last show - hope everyone carries on enjoying the new thread.
