Kurt Angle has been training in Pittsburgh PA for his MMA debut, that's all they are saying.
I don't know what others are thinking but I, for one, think this will be an utter failure for Kurt. He's a great wrestler, yes.... He's an Olympic Gold Medalist... Yes... He's someone who works his tail off to get the best out of himself.. yes... BUT.. He's had a laundry list of injuries over the years and I do believe he had his neck fused recently (Even if not recently... It's still a problem for real competition). He could end up seriously re-injuring that neck and then he's finished with his wrestling career. All in all, I think this could be the riskiest decision he's ever made if he actually steps into an MMA fight... And that's a big if.
If Kurt was to fight and get caught early in the 1st round and get knocked out it would forever tarnish his wrestling career in my mind.
I aggree. I have a bad feeling about this. Obviously he has credentials, and "could" be a legitimate contender. The injuries are the only thing that make it so dang problematic. Why would anyone in MMA "NOT" go for his neck immediately?

1. I can't find anything about this on the TNA sight. Setanta Sports, on the other hand does have a story, but like others have mentioned, its old news. 2. Please don't copy headlines from newz sites. If you post that something is confirmed you should have a date and an opponent or at least a link.
This update just in from the TNA site. Kurt Angle has been training in Pittsburgh PA for his MMA debut, that's all they are saying.
Why do you say in the topic title that it's confirmed.. this does not confirm anything. That is exactly what they've been saying for 2 years now. So until he has an official oppenent don't say it's been confirmed.
This is, what, the 50th time we've heard that Kurt's "in training for his MMA debut" since he left WWE? Kurt's a great wrestler (obviously) but could he handle a MMA fight? I have my doubts. I say put him against Brock Lesnar and let's see.
Well, it's twelve years since his last proper unscripted fight. He apparently had a scuffle with Brock Lesnar about six or eight years ago that he 'won'. Daniel Puder famously beat him during Tough Enough a few years back. And he has a long and severe list of injuries, primarily related to a the broken neck that's plagued him since pre-1996 Olympics. Honestly and truly, if Angle entered an MMA fight against anyone halfway competent, I would expect him to not walk away from the ring. Given that taking bumps in a wrestling match is stressing him, being in a real fight against some merciless veteran who'll probably want to show him up and, or a rookie who'll want to make a name for himself... It's not exactly making me feel confident for his chances of success. In all seriousness, given all the rubbish Angle comes out with in his interviews, does anyone else just feel uncomfortable that he's still competing? I honestly wonder if the man's all there in the head...
