MadMatt
A couple of things: Wrestling Today Newsletter is not dead, first of all. Just wanted to get that out of the way before people who might enjoy that read this and panic. I started this game in August, so basically the first couple of weeks before Summerslam were as you knew, only all those men that got fired...they didn't. Trust me, there is a place for the likes of Colin Delaney, the Highlanders, and Domino, even though that place is jobbing so many times that Barry Horowitz cackles at them. Oh, and Batista and John Cena never had that epic one week reign as World Tag Team Champions. Of course, the rate Batista's causing trouble backstage, he'll be lucky making the dark match if he keeps it up too much longer. Also, I'm a bit into this game, like halfway into September, so there may be times where I get sidetracked by actually playing the game and stall on updating the dynasty. However, I will try and remain on task. And now, for those who might need a refresher course, a recap of Summerslam, along with the TEW ratings. A couple of changes from real life, but not too many.
-The Big Show pins Bam Neely with the Choke Slam in a dark match(C+) -MVP pins Jeff Hardy with help from Shelton Benjamin. Afterwards MVP punks Shelton as well(C+) -Santino and Beth win the Intercontinental and Women's Titles over Kofi Kingston and Mickie James when Beth pinned Mickie with the Implant Buster(D+) -Shawn Michaels retires, of course Jericho doesn't let him without a fight. Jericho punches Shawn's wife by accident and then punches Shawn in the eye again, just to be an evil rudo heel(A) -Matt Hardy defeated Mark Henry by disqualification when Elijah Burke(replacing the fired Tony Atlas) makes his return, getting Henry disqualified. Jeff Hardy comes out and makes the save. And both men don't click, thus screwing my long term ECW Title program(D+) -CM Punk retained the World Championship against JBL with the GTS(B+) -Triple H retained the WWE Championship over the Great Khali with the Pedigree(B) -Batista pinned John Cena after two Batista Bombs(B) -The Undertaker pinned Edge with the Tombstone in a classic Hell in a Cell Match. Afterwards, Undertaker sends Edge straight to hell with a choke slam through the ring(A*)
And now with that out of the way. Adamle puts over the matches on Summerslam last week and says that Unforgiven is coming up in three ways. The official WWE Raw rankings show that Chris Jericho, Batista, John Cena, and Kane are the top four contenders for the title. Therefore, Adamle says tonight all four of these men will battle in a fatal four way match tonight, the winner facing CM Punk at Unforgiven(or as Adamle calls it, “The Unfogiving”) Cole and King hype up tonight’s big match and promise tonight’s Raw will be one to remember. JTG eventually gets cut off and beaten down for a few minutes by the heels. JTG fights back and hot tag to Jamie Noble. Noble enters the ring, house of fire, knocking all three men around. Attempted Tiger Driver on DiBiase but Rhodes attacks him from behind. Regal delivers a half nelson suplex to score the pin on Noble. Winners: Priceless and William Regal. Santino brags that he only has four hundred and fifty three more days before he beats the Honky Tonk Man’s record as the longest reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion ever. Santino promises to beat D’Lo like he owns him. He sends Beth to the back, saying that he can do this on his own. Santino tries to get himself counted out but D’Lo drags him into the ring, but not before Santino gets his hands on the Intercontinental Title and whacks D’Lo in the head with the title belt for the disqualification. Afterwards, Santino leaps up and down like he’s won the main event at Wrestlemania. Winner: D’Lo Brown by disqualification, Santino retains the title Match Rating: D CM Punk comes out, firing up his hometown fans in Chicago, in a short explosive promo, before promising to beat Burchill tonight and then whomever wins the fatal four way at Armageddon. GTS scores the pin after nearly four and a half minutes and Punk goes into his title match at Unforgiven with the win. Winner: CM Punk with the GTS Match Rating: B Chris Jericho is backstage, bragging about how he took Shawn Michaels out of wrestling last night. He said if Michaels ever shows his face on Raw again, he will take out his other eye, which gets a lot of boos from fans in the arena. Jericho runs down Cena, Kane, and Batista, promising to beat them and then Jericho finally gets the title shot that he deserves at Unforgiven and he will take out Punk. Jericho then will rule over Raw as the World Heavyweight Champion. Mickie enters the ring, beats down both of the devilish women(tm Dusty Rhodes, all rights reserved) and pins Jillian with the Swinging DDT. The announcers talk about how Mickie has her sights set on regaining the WWE Women’s Title from Beth Phoenix Winners: Kelly Kelly and Mickie James Match Rating: D JBL is in the ring, calling Adamle a stooge, saying that he should have been in the fatal four way match tonight. So, as a result, JBL says he’s going to destroy every wrestler on the Raw roster one by one, starting tonight with Charlie Haas, until he gets another shot at Punk. Match Rating: B+ vs. Charlie Haas vs. John Bradshaw Layfield Highlights: JBL is in a surly mood about being overlooked in the fatal four way match so he beats Haas into the corner. He continues to beat him for most of the match, connecting with two Clotheslines From Hell, but refuses to go for the pin. It isn’t until after a third one that JBL pins Haas mercifully with a foot on his chest. Winner: JBL Match Rating: C+ Kane is backstage in a dark room, looking menacing, as he has Rey Mysterio’s mask in his arms. What he did to Rey was necessary, it had to be done, it just had to be done. The crimes Rey had done were too much, he was beloved by all but Kane had to make him pay. So he beat Rey, he beat him within an inch of his life. He is hiding under his bed right now, traumatized, hoping that Kane does not finish the job and maybe one day he will, but right now he has three more individuals to destroy tonight and a fourth at Unforgiven. Cena, Batista, and Jericho will all go down in flames tonight and CM Punk will be scorched at Unforgiven. Kane promises the destruction of souls on Raw, before he laughs evilly as we slowly fade out. Towards the end, Cena connected with the F-U on Jericho but Batista beats him up to make the save, before hitting a spinebuster on Cena. Batista turns around and Kane beats on him, before he grabs Batista by the throat, before he connects with the Choke Slam which was only a two and a half count until Jericho makes the save. Jericho gets tossed to the floor and Kane beats on both Batista and Cena. Choke Slam to Cena and a second Choke Slam on Batista is blocked, before Batista destroys Kane with a lariat. Both men tumbled to the floor for the impact and Jericho enters the ring, going for the Code Breaker but Cena manages to counter into the STFU. Lance Cade comes down to the ring and Cena drops the hold to go after him. Cena takes out Cade and turns around right into the Code Breaker. Kane and Batista are too busy brawling with each other at ringside and Jericho scores the pin to become the number one contender for Unforgiven and will face CM Punk. Winner: Chris Jericho(w/the Code Breaker) Match Rating: A Kane screams in horror, not believing that Jericho got the win but Batista has a chair and blasts Kane. Another chairshot and Kane drops like a tree. Batista drops the chair but Kane sits up, coming at Batista, grabbing him by the throat. Batista fights him off as Jericho and Cade sneak off, after all they don’t need to stick around as Jericho’s got the title shot. Kane strangles Batista, a crazed look in his eyes. Batista drops to his knees, as security is trying to pull Kane off, but Kane seems to be going even more off the deep end. Batista has been choked unconscious as Kane drops him, cackling madly as Raw fades to black. Word has gotten to us that tonight’s match with Umaga will be for a shot at the WWE Champion Triple H at Unforgiven. Show is pumped, saying it’s been six years since he has held the WWE Championship but tonight all he has to do is get past Umaga. Umaga might be the Samoan Bulldozer but many men have fallen to the Choke Slam! Show raises his large hand, signaling the move that has beaten Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, The Rock, Triple H, and many others in his career. If he hits it on Umaga, it could be lights out for the Samoan Bulldozer. She proceeds to apologize for all of the months of hell that she put the Undertaker through, banishing him from Smackdown, stripping him of the World Heavyweight Title, everything. With tears in her eyes, Vickie sobs that Edge made her do it and asks for the Undertaker’s forgiveness. The Undertaker grabs the microphone and says three simple words “go to hell” which gets a crowd pop. Going into a wild mood swing, Vickie shrieks like a banshee, proceeding to freak out saying that she made Smackdown what it is today, without her this show would die and the Undertaker should respect her, she’s his boss. She stands out of the wheelchair, saying that the Undertaker is selfish and next week, she is going top punish him. Next week he will be in a No Holds Barred Match with the Great Khali. Vickie says after next week, the Undertaker will be the one begging for her forgiveness, but she has none to give. The Undertaker looks stoic, as Ross and Tazz hype up the main event. MadMatt
Welcome to Raw. Your commentators are Chris Jericho is out to start up the show, gloating over beating three other top Raw competitors last week. He reminds us of his achievements. He was the first Undisputed Champion in fifty years, beating Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Rock in the same night. He put Shawn Michaels out of wrestling. He is an eight time WWE Intercontinental Champion. And in thirteen days at Unforgiven, he will be the World Heavyweight Champion. CM Punk might be a great competitor but Jericho reminds us of the night after Wrestlemania when he beat Punk one, two, three in the center of the ring. Jericho tells Punk to keep his belt warm, because he’s coming for it at Unforgiven. CM Punk makes his way down the aisle, with the World Heavyweight Title around his waist. Punk says that all last month, he had to put up with JBL bragging that he was going end Punk’s reign at Summerslam, but he shut JBL up. Punk remarks same story, different loudmouth. At Unforgiven, he will walk in the champion and walk out the champion. Jericho invites Punk into the ring and Punk takes off the belt, before he runs down to the ring, to go after Jericho. Both men trade punches and kicks. Lance Cade rushes down to the ring and attacks Punk from behind. Cade and Jericho beat down Punk in the center of the ring. The crowd is buzzing, with a modest amount of boos and it’s easy to see why as John Cena rushes down to the ring, knocking Lance Cade backwards. Jericho goes for a swing but ducked and F-U from Cena. Cade is up and CM Punk is as well. He lifts up Cade and GTS connects. Cade and Jericho roll to the floor to lick their wounds. Cena was cost that title shot and now he’s gained a measure of revenge. Tonight it will be Cena and Punk against Cade and Jericho but is tonight’s main event a sign of things to come. He knocks Snitsky around, beating him down in the corner. Spinebuster connects on Snitsky. Batista gives the thumbs down and sets up the Batista Bomb but Kane runs out to the ring and kicks Batista right in the head, causing a disqualification. Winner By Disqualification: Batista Match Rating: B Kane clotheslines Batista down. Batista tries to get back up but Kane grabs him by the throat. Thunderous Choke Slam. Kane kneels down, trying to choke Batista out. Snitsky stands there, just walking the show, as Kane as those massive hands wrapped around the throat of Batista. Batista is convulsing and Snitsky is playing a cheerleader on the other side of the ring. Kane breaks the hold and turns around, staring Snitsky down, before reaching forward and patting him on the head in a fatherly fashion with a sadistic grin on his face, before walking from the ring. I guess Kane has forgiven Snitsky for killing his unborn child all those years ago. Batista is down, getting to his knees, but collapsing. He is helped out for some medical attention. Then he gets belted in the face by Kofi and beaten down by D’Lo as he attempts to cower in the corner. Regal looks disgusted at the beating that Santino is getting but he finally makes the tag. Regal enters the ring and goes to work on Kofi, stretching him, before pounding him with an European Uppercut and beating him down in the corner of the ring. He ducks the head and gets dropkicked right into the tag from Santino. Santino enters the ring and poses, playing to the crowd. The tag is made and Santino turns around right into the Sky High from D’Lo. Three slaps of the mat later, the pin is scored. It is obvious that Jillian wants to make a statement but as she goes to the second rope, Mickie gets both feet up into the face. Jillian staggers back and Mickie beats her down, before whipping her into the ropes, no Jillian reverses. Mickie ducks the head and Swinging DDT connects to Jillian. Mickie pins Jillian. Duggan gives a thumbs up and goes for the three point stance but Kane catches him by the throat. Choke Slam connects to Duggan. Kane makes the cover and scores the pin. Winner: Kane Match Rating: C Kane has a sadistic glint in his eyes as he grabs the two by four. Duggan gets to his knees and Kane busts the board right over the back of Duggan. Kane goes to choke Duggan but Batista runs down to the ring. Kane turns around and Batista takes Kane out with a spear! Kane goes down and quickly security enters the ring. Cole and Lawler say that Mike Adamle has added Kane and Batista for Unforgiven and Batista got himself some of Kane early. Kane looks enraged and Batista stands in the ring, ready to fight. Noble is dead but JBL continues to assault the corpse, connecting with the Clothesline from Hell, which folds up Noble like an accordion. Another Clothesline from Hell and JBL rolls over Noble, before stomping the hell out of him. The referee is warning JBL, but JBL turns around and clocks the referee. The referee goes down, but manages to call for the disqualification. Winner By Disqualification: Jamie Noble. Match Rating: C JBL continues to pummel Noble after the bell. Noble is pulled to his feet and another Clothesline from Hell puts the exclamation point on Noble. Noble has been destroyed by JBL who walks out. DiBiase pounds away at JTG with Cody Rhodes offering a bit of interference when the referee is not looking. Up to the top rope but fistdrop misses, allowing JTG to fire back with a house of fire. Spinning elbow smash knocks DiBiase down followed a series of punches but Cody Rhodes is on the ring apron, attempting to get into the ring but the referee gets him off. MadMatt
Jesse and Festus defeated Ryan Braddick and Carlito in a dark match when Jesse pinned Carlito with a slingshot shoulderblock. (D+) We cut to the back right away with Umaga and Triple H are pounding on each other. They are not waiting to the six man tag team match tonight, they are getting this started right now. Triple H rams Umaga backfirst into a metal door and pounds away at him but Umaga fires back, throwing Triple H over a railing, but Triple H hangs on and fights back up, beating on Umaga. Triple H picks up a wooden axe handle before he swings it and cracks Umaga right in the ribs with it. Umaga is doubled over but he fights back, as security and the Smackdown locker room are holding them back. Samoan Spike waylays Triple H! Triple H falls backwards as Umaga walks off. What will that mean for tonight’s six man match involving Umaga, Shelton, and MVP against Triple H, the Undertaker, and Jeff Hardy.
