ROF: Chapter 1 - Royal Takeover

Recommended Posts

It's another cold day in the Midlands and The Masked Avatar arrives at the ROF office and training center. Avatar walks in the door and is met by the always happy Bethany Hurst and she tells Avatar that British Samurai wants to see him in his office. Avatar says hello to Razor Valentine, who's in the training ring teaching a few of the ROF rookies various holds and counters, as he walks over and knocks on Samurai's door and Samurai tells him to come in. Avatar opens the door, walks in and sits in the chair that Samurai points at. "No need to look worried my masked friend, this is just a chance to run through some things." says a smiling Samurai. Avatar lets out a huge sigh of relief as he responds "That's good, thought i'd done something wrong for a minute." "Something wrong?... you've done a great job so far with my company and I hope it continues for a long time yet." "Thanks Boss. I see that 21CW just hit cult again, I'm sure now that we're doing two shows a month that we'll hit that within the next couple of years." "Yeah, that's a bit of a blow but as long as we keep putting out the product we have been then we'll be on the right road." “I told you that modernising the product would do ROF the world of good as we're making profits each month and making a name for ourselves in the UK.” “So what's planned for the next few months?.” Avatar hands Samurai a binded folder and Samurai flicks through the various pages of the booking plans. “Some interesting stuff there, should make for some exciting storylines and feuds.” “Hopefully and i'm most excited about the The King's Men stable, I really think they'll do some amazing stuff for the promotion's prestige and popularity”. With that, Samurai and Avatar shake hands and Avatar starts to get ready for the first show of January 2012, Wrestlepalooza VI.

Rating: D+ NOT COOL * War Machine continues to attack Luke Cool after the match. * Machine picks up Cool and hits a series of brutal Choke Bombs, leaving Cool out cold in the middle of the ring. * Machine roars as he surveys the damage he's caused to Cool before leaving the ring with a sick smiling Cliff King. Rating: D NO DQ HYPE * Justin Blackham and Melanie Florence talk about the brutality in store to hype Daniel Black Francis and Razor Valentine's upcoming no disqualification match. Rating: D- Match #5 - No Disqualification Daniel Black Francis vs. Razor Valentine * Daniel Black Francis started off like a man possessed as he used various weapons on Razor Valentine, including smashing a bottle of Jamaican rum over Valentine's head. * The action spilled into the crowd as Valentine swung the momentum back to him by nailing Francis with a sick looking DDT straight onto the concrete floor but Francis somehow kicked out of Valentine's pin attempt. * Valentine looks like hitting the Avalanche Kick only to be met a crunching chairshot straight to his leg and Francis locks in the Rasta Lock and Valentine taps as he screams out in pain. * Daniel Black Francis defeated Razor Valentine in 15:48 by submission with a Rasta Lock. Rating: D+ SEEDS OF WAR * Bethany is backstage with Joss Thompson and Cliff King and Bethany asks Thompson and King if they can win without the rest of The King's Men. * King tells Bethany to shut up and he says that Emma Evans should be careful as she doesn't want to start a war with The King's Men. * Thompson then proceeds to insult and taunt British Samurai and he says that he will put Samurai out of his misery tonight. Rating: D+ MAIN EVENT HYPE * Justin Blackham and Melanie Florence go over the intense rivalry between Joss Thompson and British Samurai to hype their upcoming ROF Championship match. Rating: D Main Event - ROF Championship Joss Thompson (c) w/ Cliff King vs. British Samurai * British Samurai couldn't contain his anger in the first couple of minutes with a unrelentless series of kicks and punches on Joss Thompson. * Thompson took control when Cliff King grabbed the foot of Samurai which distracted Samurai and caused him to walk straight into a picture perfect dropkick from Thompson. * Thompson slaps and taunts Samurai as he methodically works him over. * Samurai regained control when he ducked a running clothesline from Thompson and hit the Fisherman's Suplex but Thompson somehow kicked out, leaving Samurai with a look of astonishment across his face. * Samurai was about to lock Thompson in the Secret Samurai Stretch when Cliff King jumped up on the ring apron but was met by a right hand from Samurai sending him spiralling to the outside. This gave Thompson the chance to hit the Clean Cutter on the distracted Samurai to steal the victory and retain. * Joss Thompson defeated British Samurai in 21:48 by pinfall with a Clean Cutter after Cliff King interfered. Rating: C WITHOUT HONOR * The King's Men gang up on British Samurai after the match as they pummel him. * Joss Thompson rolls out of the ring, grabs a steel chair and tells War Machine and The Ivanoff Brothers to hold Samurai down. * Thompson proceeds to smash Samurai's ankle several times, leaving him screaming in pain. The rest of the King's Men look on as Thompson holds the ROF Championship high in the air. British Samurai
Extremely happy with the whole show with alot of storyline progression and a finish for now to the Thompson and Samurai saga with Samurai's "injury" keeping him sidelined for a while. Got some very good storylines planned over the next few shows hopefully with a possible war erupting between Emma Evans and The King's Men being the main one. The dreaded fourth match in the series penalty came up in the main event which was worrying as it could have destroyed the overall show rating but thankfully Thompson and Samurai put on a classic match together.

THE EGO HAS LANDED Bethany Hurst is backstage with Phillip Cooper and is about to ask him a question when Cooper grabs the microphone and tells Bethany to get lost. He says that someone as good looking and talented as himself should have people bowing at his feet. Rating: D- Cooper is working through a injury at the moment so had him do a backstage interview instead of a match to build up his recent heel turn and new attitude. Nightmare hit the Darkness Choke Slam on Morris and as he took care of Orson on the outside, Henderson grabbed the glory with the easy pinfall. Thompson and War Machine played the cheating heels really well and with the help of Cliff King distracting DBF long enough, War Machine hit the Choke Bomb on Cool for the victory. ROYAL DECLARATION The Ivanoff Brothers join Cliff King, Joss Thompson and War Machine in the ring as Thompson looks like he's something to say. He tells Emma that she shouldn't make threats that she can't back up and that a war with The King's Men would be a very bad idea. The final four competitors also included Jon Michael Sharp, Razor Valentine and Thea Davis, with Jon Michael Sharp being the final elimination. MAIN SHOW Match #1 - ROF Tag Championship The Ivanoff Brothers defeated Absolutely Flawless in 9:32 when Ivan Ivanoff defeated Lance Martin by pinfall. Rating: E+ The final match between these two teams for a while with The Ivanoff Brothers keeping up their win at any cost tactics as Ivan rolled up Lance with his feet on the ropes. Match #2 - ROF Pure Championship Jonni Lowlife defeated Petey Barnes in 12:01 by pinfall with a Low Down. Jonni Lowlife wins the Ring Of Fire Pure Championship title. Rating: D A good match that neither man dominated but with the help of the distraction from Geri Smith, Lowlife somewhat shockingly ends the long title reign of Barnes. Jonni Lowlife celebrates like he's won the lottery after the match as he hugs Geri Smith. Geri looks on approvingly as Lowlife puts the ROF Pure Championship across his shoulder. Match #3 Danny Patterson defeated The Anglo-Scot Extremists in 12:21 when Danny Patterson defeated Davey Celtic by pinfall with a Choke Slam. Rating: E+ Patterson wins the handicap match easily against the Anglo-Scot Extremists to get his ROF career off and running. Danny Patterson says that his destruction of The Anglo-Scot Extremists is just a small preview of the damage that he can cause and that he's come to ROF to demolish anyone that gets in his path. Rating: D- A good promo from Patterson to get across his heel bad ass persona. Justin Blackham and Melanie Florence recap the vicious attack on British Samurai by The King's Men last month and say that as a result of the damage caused to Samurai's ankle, he may never return to the ring. Rating: D- Justin and Melanie do a good job of talking up the "injury" to Samurai. Match #4 Don Henderson defeated Wade Orson in 13:34 by submission with a Scottish Deathlock. Rating: D+ Another good match between Don Henderson and Wade Orson with Nightmare providing a big hand in Henderson's victory with a Darkness Choke Slam on Orson with the referee distracted by Henderson and Henderson then locked on the Scottish Deathlock which left Orson with no choice but to submit. Bethany Hurst is backstage with Daniel Black Francis and Bethany asks DBF for his thoughts on his ROF Championship match against Joss Thompson. DBF says that he will make Thompson pay for what happened to British Samurai and he promises that tonight, he will walk out as the new ROF Champion. Rating: D+ DBF does a great job of building up the main event. Justin Blackham and Melanie Florence hype the match between War Machine and Luke Cool as they talk about the size differences and whether Cool can find a way to win. Rating: D- Good hype by Justin and Melanie to keep the storyline heat up. Match #5 Luke Cool defeated War Machine in 13:41 by disqualification. Rating: D A match that surprisingly went back and forth throughout until War Machine's temper got the better of him and he choke bombed Luke Cool onto a steel chair thrown in the ring by Cliff King. War Machine continues the assault on Luke Cool after the match is over as it spills out to the announcing table and Machine places a semi concious Cool on the table. Machine climbs up onto the ring apron and jumps towards Cool with a big splash but Cool manages to move and Machine goes straight through the table, completely destroying it. Cool then climbs the top rope and unbelievably hits a flying elbow drop onto Machine as both men end up in a big unconcious heap. Officials come running down to check on both men. Rating: E+ Didn't come off as good as it should have as Cool showed Machine isn't completely unstoppable. Bethany Hurst is backstage with ROF Champion Joss Thompson and Cliff King and she asks Thompson and King if they're proud of injuring British Samurai. King says that The King's Men are the leaders of the new generation and they did Samurai a favour by putting him out to pasture. Thompson tells Daniel Black Francis that he will find out tonight why he is the franchise and leader of the most unstoppable group in ROF history. Rating: C- Thompson and King do a great job of hyping up their stable and the main event. Justin Blackham and Melanie Florence hype the main event ROF Championship match between Joss Thompson and Daniel Black Francis as they ponder if DBF can take revenge for British Samurai and also take the title from Thompson or will Thompson yet again retain through dubious means. Rating: D- More build-up for the main event from Justin and Melanie. Main Event - ROF Championship Joss Thompson defeated Daniel Black Francis in 21:48 by pinfall with a Clean Cutter. Rating: C A tremendous main event between Thompson and Francis as both men pulled out all the stops with the fans right behind Francis throughout. Cliff King was the deciding factor in the end as his interference distracted Francis long enough for him to turn round straight into the Clean Cutter and Thompson retained.
